The very worst experience that could be had
Test booked 8 months in advance and cancelled by dvsa a day before. The timeframe to change the alternate date offered us 24 hours but the website is down for âessential maintenanceâ so there is no way of moving the new date and itâs not possible to due to a levels. So we have to start the whole process again and forfeit our fee. Canât ideal to anyone on the helpline. Itâs farcical that this is a government service as itâs worse than a money laundering scam. Very sadly if you want to drive in the uk there are no alternatives but we have raised with our MP and started a petition to get the system replaced and in this instance to try to get our money back and and a new test. Truly horrendous experience at every single touch point
Compensate for the Hazard Perceptions, lack of Perception or fail?
Aced the questions but the new Hazard perception is dodgy as hell, they claim itâs all about âtimingâ I think itâs an excuse for you to book again for revenue.
Basically if you see letâs say a forest road, van going fast towards horses, naturally soon as theyâre both in eye sight you know itâs a hazard but the app flags it slower than you will! So you have to basically delay your own response time and role play you didnât see it for a second or two so you donât score a bloody 0! This is why 56% are failing itâs not them, theyâre literally set up to fail on the dodgy ass hazard protection system!
One point away from a pass mark and two videos scored 0âŠ. Because the system felt like I had some kind of sequence maybe but I guess? I think this is the coding logic used, maybe but I guess because itâs not precise and it might just randomly kick you out.
I understand someone spamming the button but I feared more that theyâd stop the video than I did the bloody hazards! How can it be hazard perception when the main hazard youâre trying to avoid is being kicked out the video!
Way too sensitive and no way it should literally kick you out unless you spam it.
The dev lead who made these decisions is clearly a jobs worth.

Driving test review
I recently passed my driving test at the Airdrie test centre and wanted to leave some positive feedback. My examiner was Kirsty (apologies if I spelled the name incorrectly). She was very professional, calm and clear with instructions, which helped reduce my nerves during the test. It was a fair and positive experience and I really appreciate her professionalism. Impossible to book a test online
Impossible to book a test online - joined the queue at 6am on a Monday when alleged new test slots were made available but was immediately 20,800 in the queue. How did these 20,800 people get there before me? Then attempted to find a test date - well, that was fun. You have to type in a specific date then select the test centre, then when it tells you there are no slots available, you have to go back two screens, change the date, then select test centre again and try again. Once again, no slots available so back you go to change the requested date again. Did this 25 times, finally found a slot 5 months ahead, went to pay for it, then got logged out and accused of being a robot. Back to the start of the queue again with another 1 hour wait ahead of me to even attempt to find a slot. Ended up paying a private company to find me a slot at a cost of an additional £20 on top of the cost of the test. DVSA site is completely and utterly useless, flawed and irritatingly pointless. They need to stop mass purchase of test slots so that people are forced to pay above the odds to secure a test. Completely disgusted. Needs a complete overhaul and strict regulations. DVSA you have failed genuine people who need to book a driving test. Get your act together. If I could have selected zero stars I would have.

I passed my practical test on March 10, 2026 with Mr. Steven and he was a very nice and kind person and did not cause me any stress at the Innisland test center in Glasgow and I had a very good feeling about my test with him and I thank him.

What an absolute JOKE of a driving school, if a 6 MONTH waiting list for a test isnât bad enough, if you find a better date but youâve already changed it 3 times youâll be met with a lovely additional paywall ONTOP of the driving test fee. Not only that, you are constantly blocked from the site for looking for tests, having to change your browser, network and whatever else constantly and on the slim chance you get through any tests are gone. Youâre competing against bots that are profiting off the urgency for students to get tests who sell these tests on for a profit. The DVSA needs to SORT THIS OUT. Over 1 year Iâve only managed to do 1 test. My theory will run out soon and I will have to sit it again and wait for ANOTHER driving test. Who the .. runs this thing?

How is this considered a first-world country when basic services function this poorly? And blaming everything on COVID, six years later! is beyond absurd. At some point, that excuse expires.

Whoever Designed the Driving Test website should be Fired!
The process to simply book a driving test is simply SHOCKING.
Whoever designed and coded this piece of sh** should be fired. This is typical of public sector unprofessionalism.
This is what the process SHOULD offer:
1. Select your test centre - near or in the place that you've learnt to drive over the past year (common sense)
2. Be offered a range of dates that are available for that test centre
3. Select that date, or be offered the nearest test centre to your post code that HAS dates.
Instead, it's focussed on you choosing a date and then choosing a test centre only to be told that date for that test centre isn't available, but why don't you try Glasgow, or Truro - miles away from where you live?!
THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A QUIZ .GOV.UK !
And this is before we even start talking about non-availability of tests anywhere in the UK.

Had a really great experience with DVSA Examiner, Brian, at the Kassam motorcycle test centre in Oxford this week. He gave clear instructions for both Module 1 and Module 2 and good, constructive feedback at the end of both tests.
DVSA NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE - they support fraudulent MOT testing
27.10.25 RRG Rochdale fraudulently claimed my car had failed its MOT claiming it needed 2 new rear tires (worn cords showing); new rear brake pads (less than 1.5mm) and new discs at the rear. TOTAL COST £1003.20 NOTE - The tire cords were not showing and the pads had more than 1.5mm on them.
28.10.25 MOT redone and passed by another independent garage the next day.No failures just two minor advisories
29.10.25 I submitted a complaint to DVSA
31.10.25 email received confirming receipt of my complaint.
02.12.25 DVSA eventually contacted me to say they couldn't do anything because 28 days had now passed since the original MOT and my complaint.
What is the point of submitting a complaint if they sit on it and wait until the statutory deadline has passed. DVSA is openly enabling fraud by allowing RRG Skoda in Rochdale to falsely fail MOTs in order to create work and generate income.
