I was finding great difficulty using the ap to regulate my digiline radiators due to my own ineptitude,
I visited the Electrorad headquarters and a most delightful gentleman called Ian was most helpful in explaining exactly what I should be doing and how to do it. He was superb and I cannot than him enough.

The heat is on!

I had a problem with my HHR storage heater so rang the office and spoke to Jeni. She talked me through a couple of things whilst I had the installer with me and she knew exactly what the problem was and the problem was sorted very quickly, it was a fault on installation and not with the heater. Since then I have spoken to Jeni on a few occasions mainly to do with operator error! and each time she has known the answer straight away. Now it’s working correctly it’s a great product with really good back up. I would recommend this company and the products.

We had 8 Electrorad Aeroflow radiators installed into our 17th Century farmhouse last Summer so have tested their performance over a full Winter season and have found they have provided good heat in our hard to heat property. A great step change up from our old storage heaters. The installation was easy as there was obviously no plumbing or water involved. We find that they can be run very efficiently from the Smartlife App and are very highly controllable, making adapting to changing outside conditions very easy.
The sales team were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole installation and set up period.

Having moved away from our old and


Having moved away from our old and expensive to run storage heaters, we purchased an Aeroflow heater for our living room. We were so pleased with its efficiency and peformance we purchased ( unfortunately not direct from Electrorad) two more heaters for our home. When one of the heaters stopped working I contacted Electrorad and must have driven Chloe mad with many emails and calls. She informed me the control was at fault and that they could sell me an upgraded panel with built in wifi that you can then operate the heater via an app. Having installed the new control panel myself ( very easy ) the difference between the old style manual setting and the new app way to set our heater is Chalk and Cheese. One of our other heaters is on it's way out and we will eventually will replace it, but I would love to upgrade the other so that they will all end up with the wifi capability. Unfortunately is seems that I can only order a panel when the old version developes a fault. Hey ho, that's life. Again, a big thank you to Chloe for her excellent customer service, and for getting me the correct part and not trying to sell me a whole new heater.

Aeroflow radiators

I have had these radiators for about 8 years and they have operated satisfactorily via the mobile app. Within the last few days I find that my gateway cannot connect to the server and shows a red led. I contacted support and have been informed that the app developer has gone into administration. I now have to manually operate each radiator, all 12! I have a newer model that communicates via Bluetooth and that works OK. I have not been offered any solution to overcome my issue. The cost to upgrade to Bluetooth is too costly, about £100 per radiator. Satisfaction level is poor.

We understand your frustration with this issue. The Spanish company that developed the thermostat electronics went into administration without any warning. We tried without success to take control of the app server in order to keep the service running. We developed our own thermostat electronics which have been in use since 2023. These communicate via direct WiFi connection to the internet router. It's an option to upgrade to these and have the very latest technology.
Your current set up will continue to communicate within the property, if that's not currently working you can give us a call on 0113 2746799 and we'll assist you to get this working so you can still control all the heaters via your app while in the property rather than having to control them manually.

2nd review of Thermastore HHR Heaters

I did a review on the Thermastore HHR Heaters last year and said I was going to add another review at the end of the winter. I didn't, as I wanted to give more time to really try and work out how to use these things. Last time I gave 3* which has now dropped to 2* because I really don't understand how these things work. Algorithms, the bane of our modern lives are supposed to improve our lives but in this case they just confuse and fail.
Today I got up to find the lounge heater stone cold!! It was switched on and should have charged up during the night on E7 electric. I happened to briefly get up at around 4.30am and checked the heater; it wasn't charging but the red fan symbol was on.
I don't understand why sometimes they charge and sometimes they don't, though I have never known no charge at all until today (I know this from my smart meter display).
They are unreliable as the parameters for charging are beyond me. So, during the day, when electric is expensive they switch on the convector!! Why didn't it charge in the first place?
I really miss the simplicity of the old style, non-digital heaters. They always charged and heated well though evenings were a bit cooler if the heaters were old.

of their professionalism and friendly attitude

I will give Electrorad 5 stars because only twice in the last 10 years I have had to call them. Whenever I have called customer services the staff there are so friendly and helpful and the performance of the two electric radiators have been excellent. When my first radiator didn’t function anymore the customer service team was very helpful in helping me choose another one for my bathroom. I would recommend this company for their efficiency and advise.

Great price for an excellent electric


Great price for an excellent electric radiator. Excellent communication from the company regarding delivery. Unfortunately I booked the wrong delivery date as we weren't going to be in but when I called electrorad they were extremely helpful. Arrived today. Even the delivery driver texted half an hour before delivery and was really helpful.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Electrorad!!!

We bought Electrorad Aeroflow heaters


We bought Electrorad Aeroflow heaters for my mums bungalow mainly as a German company and with the 30 year guarantee I felt it a good buy and would be reliable.
Just over 2 years later the main living room radiator started to produce smoke and then a flash and crackle. The radiator thermostat panel was to fault and apparently is not covered in the warranty.
I am disgusted to find out that this is in excess of £100 to fix. Plus going wrong so quickly is not what I expect from these radiators.
They are also very expensive to run and seems not very reliable.

The Aeroflow heaters have a 30 year guarantee on the heating elements and the radiator body. The thermostat electronics have a 2 year guarantee. We make this guarantee distinction very clear on our website and all our documentation.
Although the thermostat has a 2 year warranty, we would also expect it to last much longer than it did in your case.
I can see that you purchased the radiators in June 2021 so it was two and a half years old when the replacement thermostat was required. I see that you purchased 5 radiators and I trust that the other 4 are working well.
In terms of running costs, they will cost the same to run as all electric heaters and electric radiators. The running costs will be impacted by high thermostat settings, poor insulation in the house and electricity tariff selection. Please let us know if you need anything further.

Exceptional service from a Professional Business.

Really, I can't praise this company enough for their outstanding and professional service.
Ian in particular gave such exceptional service. He knew is industry and products and advised in perfect detail. He was polite, friendly and super efficient, the item arrived in good time and follow up conversations with Ian were valuable and very much appreciated. You rarely get service like this and praise should be given when a great business performs so well.

Close to 5 star!

Our Electrorad radiators have been installed for over 10 years now and the customer service dealing with my various technical queries over that time has been excellent. Most recently, Ian patiently helped me through a compatibility issue (not Electrorad's fault) that arose following a broadband full-fibre "upgrade". This would be a 5* review if the radiator's control panel and system's control app was a little simpler to use and included an "override until next setting" function as many heating control systems do.

Unreliable, not durable, customer service average

Unreliable, not durable:
I bought 4 Vanguard radiator in 2016. One didn’t work when it was delivered, and the customer service was great: they replaced it straight away. Just a hassle having to be home for delivery of the new one and collection of the damaged one.
Another one completely broke after 3 years. I chalked this up as bad luck.
Then the control panel on another went in 2023. (Apart from the controls being deeply unintuitive I think the radiators are good. They radiate 🀷‍♀)
So overall: I think not very reliable and don’t last long.
Wall fixings are rubbish:
The fixings are not sturdy and 3 of them have broken over time.
Customer services:
I think if the problem is easy they may be good, but they became very unhelpful when it became more complicated. When another wall fixing broke recently I contacted them with the details by email and they said they do sell replacement fixings and asked me to call to arrange payment and they would post one. I phoned up and explained the details and the phone the person just told me the price (£30!) and asked for payment details. I mentioned I was impressed that she had found the email trails to note which radiators I had. She said she hadn’t, but the same brackets fit all the Vanguards. I double checked with her, repeating when I got the radiator and she then realised and admitted that the fixings she would have sold me are for the newer model and asked me to email photos (it’s their product from a few years ago, I would like to think they still know what it was). I sent photos and she didn’t think they would fit the old ones. She was unable to offer any suggestion for how else to mount the radiator. I don’t think it is reasonable to stop supporting the product after 7 years, unless accepting that they have a short lifespan. Handily I remembered that when I last replaced one of the broken ones it looked like the wall fixings were the same. So I asked her if she could send me photos of the fixings so I could check. She said she didn’t think that would be possible and was audibly annoyed that I would ask and wouldn’t discuss whether the new fixings might work for my radiators. I never heard anything else.
Key to me was the fact that if I hadn’t stopped her to check again, she would have merrily sold me the wrong product and then she thought it was unreasonable that I wanted to see what I was buying before paying for it.

Firstly, thanks so much for your detailed review regarding your brackets and not your radiator, as some may think.
I'm sorry you felt the service wasn't quite up to scratch, but there were a few anomalies to understand within this.
The main one being that the product you are referring to was discontinued in 2018, so there was, unfortunately, an assumption that you required brackets for the model that replaced it. Whilst I agree we should have double checked to avoid any confusion, it's extremely rare for this model to require new brackets after so long. Because of this, the assumption was made that the brackets would fit, which we apologised for.
The brackets we now stock do not fit the radiators you purchased in 2016.
We did keep a small stock of them for some time, however, as this product was discontinued so were the brackets hence us not having any in stock left 7 years later.

I needed some new larger electric


I needed some new larger electric radiators for my sons new apartment and found electrorad in Leeds. I popped into see them and they were incredibly helpful. The people were so nice and couldn't do enough to help me, even loading the products into my car. I don't normally leave reviews but on this occasion I felt compelled to do so as my experience was so good.

Excellent service

We have had the need to contact Electrorad on several occasions to help us with Aeroflow radiators which were fitted into a house that we moved into. Ian has been fantastic and very patient in helping us with the programming of the radiators. Jenni in Sales has also been extremely helpful when purchasing some additional radiators. We cannot recommend the company more highly.

Electrorad of Leeds - Top Notch Customer Service

Just moved into a house with German electric radiators and Terma remote controls.....nothing was working. Cold for 4 weeks. Like having a Ferrari and no ignition key! Got in touch with Terma...they told me rads and remotes were incompatible!!!! Got in touch with German rad company, they put me in touch with Ian at Electrorad in Leeds.....BINGO! Problem solved immediately....Six Star Customer Service from Electrorad. Thank you.
