On the whole the gym is good however…
On the whole the gym is good however there is a lack of being able to put a like for like class on when a class is cancelled which can be quite often and also the actual studio isn’t always clean

HIIT classes are full on everytime and different with each instructor which gives variety.

Great gym
Great gym. I particularly enjoy the choice of tv stations. Time passes So quickly when I’m working out. Everything clean and well ordered and as I live abroad for 3 months at a time it suits me so well to suspend my membership and then reinstate when I get back. So glad I found you.

Good points are that the gym is…
Good points are that the gym is conveniently situated, staff are friendly and early opening is good during the week.
Downside is cleaning needs more attention, especially the toilets and changing rooms, and equipment needs better maintenance and cleaning. The cycle room blocks the view out of the windows.

The machines have become tired &…
The machines have become tired & exhausted. The straps on the rowers are constantly broken. Health & safety hazard - as people still use them broken. Would like to see a few more towers. The first 3 stepper machines, make heavy clunking sounds and are not nice to use. Would like to see an improvement soon. The staff are lovely though.

Fantastic choice of classes and each instructor is really friendly and make the classes fun and enjoyable. Love the hiit classes in the gym.

I love the gym
I love the gym, the staff are friendly and helpful, the membership price is perfect for a mum of 4,
It’s not pretentious and you can feel positive and good about yourself with “normal “ people all looking for the same thing, to lose a bit of weight and look good

Good services but hard to get into…
Good services but hard to get into popular classes. Would be good if more could be added such as Pilates and yoga or Zumba and body mind and core during the weekday mornings. The spin classes are great please continue to offer to standard members.

Excellent gym
Excellent gym. Classes are good. The only problem is sometimes I am unable to get onto the class I wish to do. I feel they could have a few more palarties and yoga classes

Just joined after a long time away from…
Just joined after a long time away from exercise due to back injury. Drew was so helpful & put me completely at ease. Amazing equipment. Only critique is would be even better with some more cardio equipment as wait is quite lengthy at busy times. Worth it though.

A more friendly attitude from the staff.
Yes, only two stars, I'm afraid, because it could all be so much better. There appears an amount of apathy on the part of 90 per cent of the staff working at the Hoddesdon gym. I say that because I have been a member for a number of years and not once has anyone ever asked me if I am happy with the facilities or whether I would like to discuss any aspect of my training and the equipment that is available. There are a number of fitness trainers employed but none, except Andy, has ever made any attempt to engage with me. I feel that he has the right attitude and always has something positive and friendly to say when he sees me, which is brilliant. It is obvious the staff are not formally requested to greet members when they arrive, or make contact in the normal way that one finds in most other clubs, restaurants or hotels. If they did so it would make visiting the gym so much more pleasant. Perhaps my comments could be passed on to whoever is in charge. I'm not asking for anything more at this time than a brief "Hi" or "Hello", which is surely not too difficult. I have left a couple of notes in the suggestions box in the past but have never had a reply from the management. Many thanks for your time.
