Evans Halshaw Ford Burnley do great sales. They're friendly and not overly pushy, and they'll make you write a review before you leave whilst you're feeling grateful for what feels like a decent experience.

Their aftercare, however, is a top ten in terms of "most abysmal experiences". Not 90 days after purchasing my second-hand £14k car, there was a mechanical problem, which almost two months later, still isn't fixed. More, when undergoing a Ford healthcheck to diagnose it at my local Ford dealership, it came out with an amber advisory for the tyres. It transpires they happily sell cars that don't pass their own full green-light inspection, but they make sure not to disclose this. Despite quoting the Consumer Rights Act and signposting to reject the vehicle through a Section 75, it's clear this franchise simply don't believe in (i) the law or (ii) customer care, and their main concern is their sales targets and bringing in the dime. Aftercare? Reputation? Don't be daft!

I had my last car (also a Ford) for 12 years, and this is only my second encounter with a Ford dealership - and that's enough for me. After this experience I will now actively avoid doing anything through Ford directly, and I'd tell anyone who I like enough to make a hot beverage for that they would be wise to do the same.

Over two months after I purchased a 18k car and they still have not sorted the scratches on the outside of the car or replaced the chewed seat belt, all of which was promised as condition of sale. The car has already been back to them once for two days where they failed to sort the majority of scratches and just did one on the front bumper. Car was delivered absolutely filthy inside. Had to pay £100 privately for a deep clean as the smell was so bad. Previous owner must of had a dog as there were scratches all over the interior fabric and so much dog hair. They will tell you anything to secure the deal and once you hand over the money they no longer care. Dealt with Tahmid who has consistently let me down. Have now contacted head office to try and get this sorted. Terrible service

Tahmid sold me a nice car today. Very efficiently and with concern to get all details correct.
Of course the main concern will be the way the vehicle performs in the future.

Took my van back again on 2nd April to get the ball joint replaced under warranty. I previously went in January but was told the knocking was “dust” 😂 and there was nothing wrong with it. A week before it was due in I called into the garage and provided them with a video of the failed ball joint so they could order the parts and have them ready to fit, a couple of the staff looked at the video and agreed that the joint had failed and ordered the parts whilst I was there.
I was phoned at 4.30 and told again that the job wasn’t done, this time the reason being it needed an additional part. Which they had ordered and it would be here in 10 days. Yet again another wasted day. I explained to my mechanic/ MOT tester friend that it would need additional parts, he took the video for me whilst it was on his ramps for a service. He said the other parts were fine and in fact they were like brand new as you would expect from a van at 18 months old. Apparently it is a known fault with the ball joint.

Convenient timely and professional

Over all a first class service I will return in the near future thank you.

I bought a Range Rover on line in March last year. It wasn’t prepped on the walk round and was told it would be sorted.
Had the car delivered and not prepped etc. Still had a metre long scratch on the tailgate. Still had previous owners personal details. List goes on.
I’ve now been informed it’s a value car. Hence it not being prepped and no HPI report, vehicle preparation standards certificate for complete peace of mind and no service history.

Don’t buy a car from Evans Halshaw Burnley, unless you want to get a sold a car for it to go faulty after 2 years & sell you a 3 year warranty, wait for 3 weeks for the service department to look at your car, to then not have the correct tools to diagnose the issue with your car after charging you for the diagnostic fee. They then ordered the tools which took another week, carried out the diagnostics finally to then struggle to find the issue with you car. They then ‘found’ the problem ordered the parts and attempted to ‘fix’ the car which failed, they then look further into it attempted to ‘fix’ it again and would you believe what, failed again. My car has been with them since the 15th January, after chasing I was finally supplied with a courtesy car on the 3rd March. They then ‘booked’ it in with seat Blackpool to be looked at on the 5th March, I rang seat Blackpool on the 5th to make sure they had my contact details for updates , to then find out my car was never booked in to be looked at in first place, it had been dumped in the compound with no hand over paperwork. So 9 weeks down the line, still no idea what’s wrong with my car, constant chasing, promised call backs. Overall extremely stressful, avoid at all costs, constantly dismissed by all the staff that work there, that show no dignity and no respect towards a customer or their vehicle.

Been left with no other choice to leave a bad review due to nobody coming back to me after being promised a phone call numerous times, what else am I meant to do?

I've perhaps been tainted with bad experiences elsewhere before but Callum was quite literally a breath of fresh air. Really easy to get on with him and he's the type of person you want to like!

One of the best qualities i found with Callum was his honesty. He talks to you with a level of respect that isn't forced or fake. He was a genuine guy and that made all the difference.

I ended up paying more than I wanted to for a car and somehow I couldn't be happier.

He's 100% worthy of recommendation. He's a rare breed and a credit to your company.

Paid a deposit over the phone on a Polestar 2 advertised on EBay and the EH website for £15291.
After driving over 2 hours to the Burnley store to collect the car I was told that the price was wrong and VAT should have been added so the price would be £18349.20.
The sales manager said that they had been having website problems but I should have confirmed the price. I pointed out that they should have called customers travelling to buy cars if they knew the pricing was incorrect.

Bought a Skoda Kodiq off Calum.
He was very professional polite and courteous. Did not leave a stone unturned and the car when I picked it up was perfectly presented.
