Great deal good service.

Special shout out to Cameron one of the nicest car dealers I have ever purchased a car from. Actually the nicest.

I purchased a car. They had for 3 weeks to repair gearbox and air conditioning. Within a few months both repairs failed. The company did not respond to attempts to contact. Sought advice from citizens advice and trading standards who advised I send recorded delivery letters and request repair or I Could reject the car. Still had no response despite 2 letters. The eventually rang again and they agreed to look at the car whilst I was on holidays. I am a 1 car household. I returned from holiday. Car not ready. Gearbox has been taken out. No courtesy car available. No timeframe on when car will be ready. I’m a community nurse with a young child! Have had to speak to work and have gone sick due to the stress! Absolutely dreadful communication and service. Do not buy car from here

All the staff involved were courteous, helpful and friendly , they made an excellent job of the repairs.

They still haven't returned my £99 deposit from 5 weeks ago I paid a deposit to view a BMW X1 They lied about the condition of the car, it was terrible. They moved it to Hull the next week. CAN I HAVE MY DEPOSIT BACK

Recently bought a car from Evans Halshaw in Merthyr Tydfil. The car was exactly as advertised, well presented and in good condition, the price was about average for the car/age/condition. The salesman was helpful and friendly. The car came with 2 months warranty which I have not (so far) had to use. Various additional warranties were offered - if I had taken them all it would have cost over £1000 extra, but I declined.

The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the part exchange. They were advertising generous part exchange deals, but did not mention any age limit. My car was 8 years old, low mileage and good condition, but they said that anything over 7 years old would just be sent to auction and therefore offered a price almost £2k below what was being advertised elsewhere. (This is not consistent with the "value cars" section on their website, but it is what they told me). This policy is not mentioned in their advertising or prominently on their website, and it almost ended up losing them the sale.

One further point for prospective buyers, in the past we used to haggle over the price in a car dealership. This is not now possible in Evans Halshaw (or I suspect many other dealers), but if they have had the car for a while they will start to reduce it regularly, so if you can wait a few days and take the risk of someone else buying it first you might get it a few hundred pounds cheaper.

Imagine purchasing an expensive car, being sold and reassured by investing in a warranty and then when you need to use it the company you've purchased it from chooses to take no ownership at all....that's been our experience.

We are a family with young children that depend on a car, that's why we purchased an expensive car and warranty package, being told at the time by the lovely salesman that we won't need to worry at all.

It's been 3 weeks, my car is yet to be diagnosed, we've rung numerous times being told someone will call back and guess what they never do and at the time of writing I still don't know what happening and when I will have my car back. My wife has been impacted by this and my kids haven't been able to go to their after school events....absolutely awful service and I just can't believe this is allowed to happen

Excellent service, Cameron was a brilliant help, answered any questions and was not pushing us when we went to view. We were kept informed and we were well looked after by Cameron and the team. Thank you for making it easy.

Car went in for recall. Was told it would be ready for 3pm. Wasn't ready till 5pm and there is damage to my vehicle. But if course it's denied that anything happened whilst in their care

Just a bit of advise, don't waste your money taking out the extended warranty as it's not worth the paper it's written on. Was firstly mis sold it as when we weren't sure whether to purchase as Merthyr is a 30 minute drive from where we live was told by Tyrone that if needed the car could be picked up and returned to the house but when it came to it was told we lived outside the area that they provide this service to (had not moved since purchasing the car). Following lots of warning lights and messages flashing on the dashboard 12 months after purchasing, I had to take a day off work and after being assessed was told a cable harness had corroded which was not covered in the warranty (surprise surprise) and had to pay £155 for the privilege. Would never buy a car from there again

Exceptional customer service from Tyrone from start to finish he was fab

Email response service they use doesn't work once they send you the recommended works. This is a known issue but they still use it. My car went in for a recall. They also do a health check the same time free of charge. You then are sent an email with recommended works however the response you send doesn't go through to them. You need to ring instead however the phone answering is very poor.

Really helpful explaining how car computer systems worked set everything up explained about how to charge car and was really professional but also really friendly thanks

As always, the experience at Evans Halshaw Merthyr Tydfil was excellent. Tyrone couldn’t help us enough. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him and he goes above and beyond to help us every time. This is our 4th car and we wouldn’t go anywhere else
