The workshop manager, Robert, was very good at keeping me informed of any progress or lack of progress while waiting for parts to arrive.
Communication goes a long way.

My car was in for a service and i was kept up to date with the progress all the way to it being completed.

The highest quality, at-a-distance, reassuring experience for someone completely new to buying an important family vehicle!

This feedback really does centre around Abbas, who was the person who sorted us out from start to finish engaging with Evans Halshaw (Motherwell). He spoke openly, precisely and honestly about the car answering every question and query with clarity. Every single query I raised (and I always have many) was dealt with to great depth and so promptly. For example, he shared a full initial walk-around of the vehicle, the good and the bad. Especially because we bought at a distance, his talk-over of the video and the parts he focussed on was expert-level. The concerns I had related to third-parties whom he followed up with within hours and back to me with a response sending along complimentary follow-up photographs too.

When it came to dealing with paperwork, he delivered everything so swiftly and it seems that when he wasn't busy with a customer, he got straight back to me on the phone explaining the process, purpose of documents and spoke clearly about what we needed to do to progress.

Despite buying what is probably a low-value family vehicle to Evans Halshaw. To me, it was a significant purchase that I wanted to get right for me and my family for many years. I felt like Abbas understood this and I felt supported and reassured that made me buy quickly and with confidence.

What's more, this also meant, I opted to go with additional covers/purchases, I will and have already highly recommended Evans Halshaw to friends and family. I am already browsing the range of accessories and feel for future (and hopefully bigger purchases), I'll be straight back in touch with Evans Halshaw!

One area of improvement in the process for me (as a very Cyber Security conscious individual), was more clarity and obvious partnership when it came to third-party systems. For example, e-signing and payment involved external, third-party and unfamiliar services, names and jurisdictions. Abbas done a really good job of explaining what to expect and give confidence but had he not, I would have wanted more reassurance that the partnership with Evans Halshaw was a legitimate one.

MORE ABOUT EARLY PURCHASE IF HELPFUL:
After the phase of research on which vehicle I wanted to get (between using Claude and YouTube - mainly Carwow videos), I used the internet to search for cars available and Evans Halshaw appeared in the search. What struck me initially was the quality of the images that were taken which made the condition appear very obvious and good.

Admittedly the website isn't as shiny or as modern in feel, but I actually appreciated the very functional style of it for this purpose - ultimately it had all of the key information for me to read up and check against my requirements.

I recently bought a car from the Evans Halshaw Motherwell branch. I had initially emailed about a car I had saw on the website and the email was picked up first thing the next day by Nicholas Jeffrey who sent a prompt reply to me.I had planned on visiting the branch to look over the car but in the interim decided on another car.On visiting on the Saturday morning hoping to view and possibly test drive the alternative car it turned out that the car wasn't at the branch. Nicholas and Marc,his manager,took time out to establish the whereabouts of it and to ensure it's availability.Long story short arrangements were made for me to view and possibly pick up the car on the Tuesday evening should it be to my liking.All throughout the process both Nicholas and Marc kept in touch with me keeping me updated on the car. No pressure at all was put on me at any time by either and for me that made all the difference.I would definitely recommend Evans Halshaw. My previous car was also bought from Evans Halshaw and again, albeit in 2019 from the Coatbridge Branch, I received great service.Many thanks again to all involved in the process. Incidentally the car has turned out to be really good buy.

Nick Jeffrey at EH Motherwell did a thourghly professional job with my used Mercedes C-cab. There was an issue with the vehicle that he and the tech team in Motherwell sorted for me. Nick kept me advised during the process and ensured when I collected the vehicle it was 100% ok. Great work by all the team at the Motherwell branch. Only down side was my wife did not like the tea!!! Bill

My wife bought a used car from Evans Halshaw Motherwell only a couple of weeks ago. As much as our salesman was a nice guy and helped us with all the paperwork etc we were seriously let down when we picked the car up. They couldn't tell us if the auto gearbox had been serviced and the vehicle stunk of cigarette smoke. We were told it had been valeted however when we got home we decided to give it a clean ourselves. After 5 mins We decided we would need to get a professional valeter to come and give it a clean. there was mould on the seatbelts and dirt and rubbish under the seats and as for the lingering cigarette smell its only gotten worse. They obviously only gave it a quick hoover and wipe down and sprayed the cab with something. Yes we know its an older car but if a main dealer like this is selling a vehicle you would expect it to be cleaned out properly not just a quick cover up job. And now we are going to have to foot the bill for a gearbox service.. Would not recommend buying a used car from this dealership....

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP - Bought a Ford Fiesta ST-Line X from Evans Halshaw Motherwell in April 2025 for £11,658, including a £549 home delivery fee. At point of sale I was told the car had undergone a 123-point mechanical check and was in good condition. I relied on that assurance when deciding not to take out the Extended Guarantee also offered. Less than a year later the car went in for its first service and MOT at Evans Halshaw Cardiff. Their own technicians flagged over £660 of urgent work including leaking VCT solenoids and an exhaust emissions fault — every single item explicitly listed in Evans Halshaw's own published 123-point checklist. I paid this out of pocket. The car then failed its MOT on emissions. Evans Halshaw Cardiff investigated further and found that a flexi pipe had been previously fitted to the exhaust before I bought the car — incorrectly fitted and too long, allowing gases to escape. This is physical evidence of a botched repair carried out before sale. A replacement catalyst converter is now required at £1,698.17. When I raised a formal complaint with Evans Halshaw Motherwell, their Used Car Sales Leader rejected it three times — including after being presented with written confirmation of the prior botched repair from their own Cardiff technicians. He even confirmed in writing that the Extended Guarantee "would have covered several of the components" — effectively admitting these are not wear and tear items. Their final position is that they bear no liability whatsoever. I have now submitted a formal case to the Motor Ombudsman and a Subject Access Request under GDPR for the completed 123-point inspection report, which Evans Halshaw have not acknowledged. Total repairs stand at £2,358.58 — on a car purchased less than a year ago. Avoid this dealership.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with this company. I purchased a vehicle in January, since then it has developed two faults, when I contacted the service department to book it in to have the vehicle checked, I was told I would need to pay £300 plus to have a diagnostic check run on the vehicle as I hadn't purchased a warranty, this would seem a contradiction to the Consumer Rights Act, unless I have misread the terms of the Act. Also when reviewing my purchase agreement I noticed a charge of £99 for customer pack, when I questioned what this was for I was told admin charges, how wonderful, I get to pay for them to do their paperwork!

I recently bought a Kia Stonic from this dealership (Motherwell) and while I’m happy with the car, my initial experience with salesman Jordan Allison was extremely disappointing.

He was unfriendly, abrupt, and showed no basic customer service. He didn’t walk us to the car, didn’t offer hospitality, refused my request for a staff‑accompanied test drive, and repeatedly pressured me about finance and credit score in a way that felt demeaning. Even his emails were curt and unhelpful.

In contrast, Mr. Abbas was outstanding — patient, respectful, informative, and genuinely helpful. He turned the experience around completely. If you visit, I highly recommend asking for him.

The dealership needs to address the customer service standards shown by Jordan, but credit where it’s due: Abbas provided the level of professionalism and care you’d expect when making a major purchase.

Went in to Motherwell store to look a car once seen the car spoke to Paul dhillon where he was very pleasant and went though the car and was very helpful trying his best to get me the best deal possible very pleasant and helpful and world highly recommend him as a sales rep and would definitely use him again

Bought a car from Evans Halshaw Motherwell. I can’t recommend Abbas enough, he has been great trying to find me a new car. Very experienced and friendly.

Sold me a car with 2 buckled wheels , i didnt notice this for about 3 months , it was driving OK, we eventually agreed to pay , 50/50 for the repair, but the more I thought about it wasn't happy, they say they do there 123 point check , but obviously not , i can 100% guarantee that it wasn't me that buckled them , visited the branch on Tuesday and was told to e mail in my issues , its now Friday and they haven't got the deceny to reply . Just a wee update, the email they have supplied for me to get in contact with them doesn't exist that says it all really. Another update, obviously an automated reply
