kept waiting 3hr's because asked for softwear issues to be looked at during a service

The personal touch... As always, I was made to feel like a well-remembered, welcome visitor. Use of my name in conversation, also tells me that my individual needs matter. I believe that the Company training seems to focus on the honing of people skills and good communication with the client.

Absolutely excellent service, From start to finish, the staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful.
The only downside is the parking, which is quite limited and can make arriving a little difficult. Other than that, I honestly couldn’t fault the service.

I found a car advertised by Evans Halshaw MG Banbury on Auto Trader and called to arrange a viewing. I explained we were travelling an hour and specifically asked whether the car was ready to go. I was told it was and was given a list of the required documentation to bring in order to purchase the vehicle.

On arrival, we were not greeted and had to find someone ourselves. We then waited around 40 minutes, despite repeatedly asking when we would be seen. Communication was very poor.

When we finally saw the car, it had not been valeted and had significant dents and scratches. We still test drove it as it was the make and model we wanted, but were then told it could not be purchased because it was not actually ready to go — contradicting what we had been told previously on the phone.

We were promised free delivery and that the damage would be addressed. However, we then had to make multiple calls over the following 4 days to confirm both the repairs and the delivery date and time. We were never contacted directly without first calling to chase.

Overall, a very frustrating experience. Poor communication, inaccurate information and a lack of customer service. I would not use this dealership again.

Travelled 3 hours to look at a car we liked online having booked an appointment with Trevor. We asked for a valuation on our car for trade in from the onset. They then spent the next few hours (yes HOURS!) showing us videos about disclosure information, PCP/HP (which we said we were not interested in!), extended warranties and insurance deals for extras (again not interested but insisted we had to watch!). We had not even decided on a purchase and this was all before a trade in price eventually came back £10k below offers we had received at other garages. Once we had stopped laughing and got up to walk away, they explained it was a mistake so they went away to re-value. They then insisted we had to watch three more videos or ‘they couldn’t proceed’. Not sure what they were going on about in the end. We had never ever been through such a procedure before at a car dealership whilst simply looking at a potential used car. We just wanted a test drive and to know a trade in price for our existing car before we could even contemplate any purchase! They finally agreed we could test drive the car but would have to watch the videos afterwards. The car was fine but we said we still needed to know a realistic trade in value for our car before we could consider any purchase. We waited ages for the stroppy and aggressive business manager (who clearly wasn’t interested in us or our business) to finally get back with a low valuation. No further discussion or wiggle room allowed! After over 3 hours we had to walk away. We were happy to negotiate for the car but they fell short with attitude and unnecessary pointless documentation and failed to reveal a trade in price until we had listened to all the ‘spiel’. In the end the sale fell through as they were unable to match our lowest trade in to reach a price. In fact they just didn’t really seem to want sell us the car and quite frankly we didn’t really want to deal with them in the end. I guess as the remainder of payment was going to be from cash they gained nothing but they would have had one less car on their overstuffed forecourt!

We contacted Evans Halshaw in Banbury after seeing a vehicle advertised for sale through Auto Trader. We arranged a viewing through Auto Trader for Friday 14th August at 12 noon. As we were travelling approximately 90 miles to view the car, we contacted the Dealership on the morning of the appointment to confirm they were still expecting us. We received a text confirming the appointment and set off. After we had been travelling for around an hour, we received a phone call informing us that the car had been sold to another dealership, despite knowing that we were travelling a considerable distance to view the vehicle. We were then asked whether we would like to make another appointment to view something else on another day. Needless to say, after being treated this way, we have no intention of purchasing a vehicle or doing any further business with this dealership. We subsequently contacted Matthew, the Manager, to express our concerns. We were told he was busy with another customer but would return our call as soon as possible. We are still waiting for that call. In our opinion, this was a complete disregard for our time and a very poor standard of customer care. The fact that our complaint has apparently not even warranted a return call makes the experience even more disappointing. If a customer has arranged an appointment, travelled 90miles and specifically confirmed that appointment before setting off, we believe the very least they should expect is to be told before making the journey if the vehicle is no longer available or the possibility of it being sold. A very disappointing experience, and certainly not a dealership we would recommend based on our experience.

Bit of a mess with the timings. Had my free health check and obviously found problems with a 40,000 mile 4 year old car that needs new all round discs and pads? Either I compete in F1 with this car or the original products are not up to much. Luckily they only wanted to charge me £1,500 for this and 3 new tyres! Not sure how they come to this conclusion or how they set the pricing but certainly will not be having the work done there if it needs it. I took my wifes car there a few years ago and was told the set belt did not work and needed a new starter motor. I checked when I got home because it had one 12 months previously.

Fantastic and friendly quick service

Customer service was extremely good, was a bit worried with previous experience with a different Evans halshaw but Louisa knocked it out the park and gave insanely good customer service was very helpful and understanding, answered all the questions and queries I had and made sure that I had all the information with the car service.

Although this company is helpful and experienced at what they do. I find that using a pressure washer to wash cars in today's climate is not a sign i wished to see your company do.

Reserved a secondhand BMW at Banbury MG. I kept in touch with the salesman, explained on more than one occasion we would be taking the vehicle on the day, we received a video apologising it hadn’t had a valet but it would be done by Saturday! Arrived and the car was being parked up soaking wet, smears and birds mess all over it, as it dried we could see the dirt,scrapes and bad paintwork and it hadn’t been touched inside at all! Queried this and was told they decided to refurbish the alloys instead of the valet, the alloys were covered in brake dust and filthy! Complained to the sales manager who couldn’t have cared any less if he tried, was offered £30 to take the car to Tesco for a valet! Sales Manager told us four new tyres had been fitted, when we pointed out it was three, he said he’d miscounted! Car has been discounted by £210.00 despite us being told they could only offer £30 goodwill for the valet at Tesco! Was an awful experience by an awful sales manager and an ill informed sales person, wasted our time, thankfully we visited another garage, received fantastic service and left with the car, legacy cars, Heathrow you were a gentleman amongst thieves!! Avoid Evans Halstead Banbury unless you want poor service and be treated like dirt! I’m sure like us you deserve better or looking to finance a vehicle as that’s all they are interested in selling a finance package.

Customer service worse I have ever recieved - rude salesmen and no communication even after complaining to manager - who wasn't interested! Purchased car end of May with fault - three weeks in garage and fault still there and even suggested if it wasn't the original fault they have the right to repair (which is not true) another week in garage until they agreed to refund me.

Staff members were lovely respectful and polite, my car had full service and came back also all clean,thank you so much.xx

Nice friendly staff (Louisa). Nice clean car after the service. I was surprised to hear that software isn't upgraded as a matter of course.

customer service excellent care throughout

Worst experience…. I had a m.g zs and power and stop start button kept on going took ages to get any think sorted and the blame was never on them always so one else the car went in 9 time only had the car 10 mouths so glad that I get the finance company to take the car back and go some where else and to this day still dealing with the stress
