Stay as far away from these incompetent liars as possible. From James the manager to Luke the salesman, Adrian the service manager and the girls that answer the phone Sandra and Kat, if they told me it was raining I'd look out of the window to check. We bought a car on 20/10/24, on 19/11/24 it went back with engine failure it's now 31/01/25 and still no car. I've been renting a car as refused courtesy car from them. Excuses after excuses after excuses. THE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE I'VE EVER RECIEVED. My wife has four A4 pages of telephone conversations logged listing lie after lie, from when the work would start to waiting for a special tool, no room on the ramps, staff sickness the list goes on. Told we would be kept informed about progress, another lie, not once did they ring us it was always my wife having to ring them. This ruined our Xmas as unable to plan visits to relatives as car hire was proving a financial strain. The whole experience has left my wife feeling totally let down and frustrated. And still no set date on when the car is ready!!! STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!!

Came up to view a car two weeks ago, Pete showed me around and explained everything perfectly, he is a very nice and humorous man! i then decided to buy it a few days after and Pete was extremely helpful with sorting out the finance for me, very satisfied with his customer service and Evan’s Halshaw as a company. I got a good finance deal plus some great additions, and it was sorted very efficiently. i’m a very happy customer ☺️

What another great experience from Evan’s Halshaw. Again exceptional service from Paul Mcgleish this time. Extremely friendly and went out of his way to pull a car out for me which has helped a tonne. I have now visited this site multiple times and each time the experience gets better and better. Overall, will keep coming back.

The car we put a deposit on was repeatedly not ready to collect and the communication about it was very poor. The story kept changing about it and we had apology after apology but they then never followed through and treated us like they wanted the sale. We were left to do all the chasing. After 6 weeks we walked away and found the same car in better condition and slightly cheaper elsewhere and picked it up 4 days after deposit was paid.

Bought a vauxhaul combo life from another trader 7 months ago, have had some issues with lights on dash for 3 months and had been going through previous trader with no help and a case with finance company was opened, i booked in with Evans halshaw vauxhaul newport and Sandra at service reception was really friendly and super helpful, issues were quickly dealt with and car is fixed, I wish I'd have gone straight to them 3 months ago! Sandra was a great help and very understanding.

Excellent service from Peter Jenkins, looked after me from start to finish, ensured we could come to an agreement within my budget and ensured I was happy before proceeding to finalise the agreement.

Bought a van online from these crooks in August (Evans halshaw Newport). Within ten days, the vehicle developed a major fault. The warranty is third-party, and you’re expected to arrange and find a local dealer willing to work with the warranty company. Most local mechanics refuse to work with insurance and expect you to pay upfront and then get reimbursed. Additionally, the hourly rate covered by the warranty doesn’t match the rates charged by most mechanics, meaning you’ll still end up paying for part of the repairs – even under their standard 3-month warranty. This is why we returned the van to E&H for repairs.

It’s now December, and the van has been returned with the same fault three times. In the five months since purchase, I’ve only had use of the van for about three weeks. I’ve now decided I’ve had enough and no longer want the vehicle, as it’s clearly not fit for purpose. However, I’ve been told I’ll be penalised £571 due to mileage driven by my employee in the short time we had the van. Most of that mileage was clocked up driving the van back to their depot – we’ve only driven about 1,000 miles ourselves.

The sales lead is always apologetic, but words mean nothing without action. We’ve had to constantly chase for updates, being promised we are a priority, only to hear nothing for weeks unless we initiate contact. When we do, we’re told the sales leader is either on holiday or in a “meeting”. On Fridays, you’ll get an email claiming a staff member is looking into it, but by Monday, that staff member will have no information and say nothing can be done until the sales leader returns.

It’s a never-ending cycle of passing the buck. As a result, I’m now vanless and out of pocket. Avoid this company at all costs, especially if you’re a small business owner. Not only will they cost you financially, but they’ll also cause an enormous amount of stress and waste your time – all for what should be a straightforward process of buying a vehicle.

Peter Jenkins was awesome from start to finish. I came in not really knowing what I wanted and he took the time to listen and sort me 5/6 different cars for me to look at! Really polite and helpful! Walked away with my new car the same day! Thanks a million!

They are very responsive before you buy the car, but can not get them to reply to my queries about the car I bought since, I even tried head office, not interested once they have your money, no after sales care whatsoever so be sure before you buy!
