Service staff very helpful

I bought a Ford C Max from Evans Halshaw in Wakefield. From paying to collecting was 3 weeks. When I received it they had spilled oil on the engine, making it smell awful while driving.
There was an error light on the dash which they said they would take car when I brought it in for MOT 4 months later when it was due. However I pushed to do the MOT immediately while I had time. I had to bring the car back to 4 different times, to 2 different dealerships but they couldn't fix it. I left the car with them and got a rental car on January 12th and returned it this week, 3 months later, though my car was never fixed. No wonder they wanted to me wait before trying to fix it. They sold me a car that could not be MOTd.
Since deciding the car could not be fixed, they demanded the rental car be returned but so far have not issued a refund, leaving me without a car or the money.
Specific people to avoid there are Iain, who's a saleman, Daniel Cascarino who's the used car sales manager, and Darrell who is the service manager.

Horrific experience with Peugeot directly! However this site were fantastic, polite, friendly and helpful.

The absolute worst experience of buying a car I’ve ever had and this was my second vehicle from Evans Halshaw! Not sure if it’s my local dealership specifically going down hill or whether them being bought out has affected things but I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
It’s taken me 3 months to finally get a car from there, the first attempt resulted in being ignored by the salesperson, the second attempt I signed for a vehicle which was subsequently given to another customer and resulted in weeks of chasing and receiving poor communication. Vehicle finally received at the end of March but came with a scratch on it! Brand new vehicle! I could write a novel about all the issues I’ve had but honestly just avoid the place.

Genuinely the best aftercare I’ve received from any garage previously visited. Jake was so knowledgeable and professional. His service went above and beyond my expectations :)

I had a brilliant experience from start to finish. The staff were all really friendly, and Amy in particular was excellent. She kept me fully updated with what was happening with my car and explained everything clearly. She was so approachable, knowledgeable about the service plans, and made the whole process feel easy. I was so impressed that I renewed my plan with her. Thank you, Amy, for making it such a positive experience!

Everyone helpful and efficient. Did a very good job cannot fault them at all. Would definitely recommend.

My car went to the garage due to a recall, they did a free health check with video proof which was a great bonus and I was more shocked they had even washed my car!! Staff were absolutely amazing

I was only in for a service but the attentive nature and fabulous customer service skills from the amazing Kiera are second to none, she makes you want to return your car here again. Clear, concise, she didn't over promise and delivered on everything she said she would. You are an absolute diamond Kiera, you should be your team member of the month,if you do that type of recognition. For such a young lady you have classy customer service 👏👏👏👏. Thank you.

Got a car January 2026 fault on the car less than a month after having it, booked in to get it fixed now refusing to pay for the fault to be rectified!! Absolutely shocking service! Would never use evans halshaw again! Wish I had never gone through with the car now as the service is got wasn't the best eaither

We have a service contract and the car went in for a service and MOT, my partner got a call saying extra work is required and they wanted a further £300, the work in my eyes was service work but according to them not covered by the service contract!! ( spark plugs, brake fluid etc dont know what the £300 plus I pay annually does cover?!) the girl on the phone was very forceful & pushy insisting that the work was essential, a very unpleasant experience, I asked her if the work was needed why didn’t the contract cover it, she said that we had the wrong contract, this contract was sold by them!!?? I told her not to do the work out of principle to her attitude, we had also asked for a new window washer reservoir cap that we had lost, on the bill the cap was £1.82 with a fitting charge of £28, a job anyone could do in 2 minutes, we are now considering changing the car away from a Vauxhall so we don’t have to use this place ever again, we used to use the garage at Castleford but this place changed dealership away from Vauxhall, I would recommend not using this rip-off place to anyone
