3 weeks in Mozambique somewhat off the beaten track needed a bit of planning and F&W excelled themselves to produce a holiday amongst the best we have experienced. Alistair was knowledgeable and responsive. Would thoroughly recommend.

Far and Wild organised my trip to Olonana Sanctuary in The Maasai Mara for 6 nights. It was an incredible place to stay, stunningly beautiful on the banks of the Mara River. I was thrilled with the Far and Wild friendliness, efficiency and organisation. They sent as a gift a great book about the wildlife and environment with itinerary and other practical information. I've never booked through an organisation before but I'd use them again and recommend them wholeheartedly. Thanks to all at Far and Wild Travel!

From the beginning Peter listened to my ideas and worked with me to achieve a dream holiday in South Africa. Another company that we considered offered at a similar trip at a much higher price and very much followed their own agenda rather than mine. I’m not an easy customer because I’m pretty fussy and have strong opinions but with great patience he responded to all my concerns and was able to give me great advice. Everything went smoothly and the minor hiccups we encountered were out with his control.
I’d happily use Far and Wild again - as long as all the consultants are as good as Peter Felix!

A little disappointed by the level of English spoken by the game drivers. Then I can’t speak any other language.

We have just enjoyed a brilliant 3 weeks in Ethiopia, organised by Far and Wild. They have been incredibly helpful in helping us to decide where to go in the country, and giving us excellent advice, and then in making all the plans for us. It was a great adventure for us, and we are most grateful.

Great safari in Amboseli with an excellent guide , lovely hotel with wonderful friendly staff, Tsavo was amazing with wonderful view of the watering hole. Whole experiance was better than we dreamed of and the five days at Pinewood hotel to chill and relax on the coast was ideal.A truely wonderful holiday !!.Many thanks from the Griffiths family x

We were very impressed from start of the holiday to the end, the holiday we asked Far & Wild to source for us we got. The staff and the guides at the safari camps were very professional and the service we received was second to none. The food and accommodation was excellent. All the animals and birds we saw were amazing and a great privilege to see and share with family & friends.

We had the adventure of a life time in Madagascar. A beautiful country with a lot to offer, as well as plenty of lemurs. The trip was well organised and the guides and drivers were brilliant. Would highly recommend the trip and the company.

Alistair at Far and Wild organised our family trip to Kenya faultlessly. We travelled to 3 different places - a safari in Northern Kenya and then 2 places on the Kenyan coast with 2 boys, almost hassle free. His expertise timing our transfers meant our travels were convenient and that we didn't lose time hanging around hot airports / landing strips hardly at all. It meant we could make the most of the 2 week holiday we had and enjoy the journeys as part of the fun adventure we intended - bush airports, speed boat transfers and arriving at one of the hotels by Dhow. Great fun for an 8 and 10 yr old boy. All in all a great trip. Highly recommended if you are imagining travelling to Africa.

From a very last minute decision to try a 'self-drive safari' to our return home, Far and Wild handled every aspect of the itinerary planning, bookings and on-the-ground arrangements in an exceptionally professional and friendly manner. We were provided with comprehensive information in advance (including a complimentary copy of the Bradt guide to the animal life) and our occasional random questions were responded to promptly and thoroughly.

Once we arrived in Namibia the local agents (ATI) met us and provided us with an even more comprehensive and very helpful briefing, a road map, a sat-nav AND a local mobile phone. Coverage across the country (or at least the bits we visited) seemed better than the UK and the knowledge that we could always get in contact for help or advice was re-assuring. In the event, we only had cause to use the phone on one occasion (a minor difficulty with a blown fuse)--our 7pm call (which we anticipated would go on an answering machine) was answered by ATI and we were contacted by the car hire firm first thing the following morning with advice.

We chose to camp, to keep costs down, and each of the campsites were outstanding, both in terms of locations, the immediate setting and the facilities provided. On most of the sites we could have used the same facilities as the up-market lodges that usually shared the location--but we really didn't see the need to. With each very private pitch having its own toilet, shower, BBQ grill and electric hook up, these site carried 'glamping' to a whole new level. Sitting out watching sunrises and sunsets, gazing at spectacular night skies and watching porcupine snuffling at our feet as they hoovered up crumbs were unmissable experiences.

The Hi-Lux truck with the roof top tent that was provided was in excellent condition, with brand new tires which meant we had no need of the 2 spares that we also carried. The camping equipment was basic--but completely adequate--and the roof top tent was perfectly comfortable (including a very decent mattress and generously sized sleeping bags that were more than adequate for the lowest temperatures we encountered--7-8 C).

I'm sure we could have spent much more time at each of the locations without running out of things to see, do and experience-and, of course, there must be a whole lot more to see in other parts of the country. However, for a first experience of Africa I really can't imagine how the itinerary could have been bettered. We saw landscapes you could hardly imagine, unfolding mile after mile--and, of course, a vast and varied range of wild-life.

If you feel the slightest bit tempted by the idea, I would really, really recommend you go ahead with Far and Wild and with Namibia.

Far and wild have been fantastic from start to finish. The team have been brilliant with planning a trip around our needs/interests and budget, which turned out to truely be an adventure of a lifetime. Would 100% recommend!

Easy to deal with, listened to what we wanted to do and tailored our travel arrangements to fit. Nathan’s suggestions and personal knowledge of Ladakh helped us ensure our holiday was a great success. Very happy to recommend them and would definitely use them again. I used Far & Wild Travel to plan a 50th Birthday present for my wife. Working with their African specialists, together we planned an amazing safari encompassing Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana (Chobe National Park, the Okavango Delta and the Kalahari). The trip took in a helicopter over Victoria Falls, a balloon ride over the Okavango and four amazing Safari camps.
Far & Wild’s patience and attention to detail was excellent and their insightful advice (based on practical experience) was really helpful.
The holiday was breathtaking and all that we could have hoped for - and would not have happened without Far & Wild Travel.

One of our main requests were not met and we had to join in with a request we have not made BUT we made sure that we do not get disappointed as a result.

Our holiday was beyond our expectations. All the accommodations recommended by Far & Wild were amazing. The travel pack sent to us prior to departure contained very useful information including driving directions between our accommodations which were accurate and extremely helpful. Would not hesitate in recommending Far & Wild to others.

The team delivered another brilliant trip. I asked for a holiday in a region they don’t usually specialise in (dats in advance) and they sorted it out really quickly. Travelling with two tiny little ones means we can’t be as ‘pick up and go’ in our travels as we used to be but they made sure all of the things we needed (car seats, bed bumpers, etc) were sorted out that the logistics generally was stress-free. The best bit though is the suggestions for places to go and super personable service. Just lovely people to deal with.
