The guys in store were fantastic

Great staff
James was excellent, assisted in finding the right size hat in the price range we were expecting to pay. Very patient and helpful and worked out that I should renew my membership in order to get the best price. At the counter Tom was very efficient and cheerful even including their names on my receipt.

Went to the Bakewell store knowing we wanted walking trousers but hadn’t thought it through beyond that. Roger was very helpful and patient as we worked our way through trying multiple pairs in various sizes. Thanks

Roger was extremely helpful
Roger was extremely helpful. Friendly and knowledgeable about the goods - walking shoes and hats. I bought a Tilley hat - he described its qualities and it was just what I needed.

Excellent help in supplying Leather Hiking Boots
Excellent attentive service and help in replacing my worn out 22 year old leather Scarpa boots. Two options offered and careful advice in which pair would be best to fit my narrow feet. I opted for a pair of Meindl boots. Nice to see the Bakewell shop so well stocked.

Buying a new hiking backpack
Buying a new hiking backpack with so much choice and with specific requirements in mind I opted for the Osprey Stratos 36L.
Had to be ordered into Bakewell. The Store Manager Roger was very helpful and the pack arrived today for me to collect at the store.
Very happy with it and the service.

Called in to buy a couple of OS maps…
Called in to buy a couple of OS maps that were not in stock. The staff were really helpful and ordered them to be delivered to my home. I like this size of store as opposed to the bigger ones.

Visiting the Bakewell (Express) store…
Visiting the Bakewell (Express) store today, I was assisted by James in making my purchase. I had ordered some trousers online and was due to collect the trousers from the Bakewell store, but I received an email informing me that the online ordering process had encountered a problem. When I explained this to James he immediately focused on helping me to select the pair of trousers from the store which I had ordered the day before online. James was admirably efficient and most friendly, with a first-class customer service ethos. I will be making more purchases from the Bakewell store in the future, knowing that the service is excellent and that the selection of lines stocked is comprehensive and very good value for money.
