Been in fox valley store today in Sheffield and spent £90 on waterproofs for us as we got caught in the rain on our bikes my 10 year old tried his on outside and they didn’t fit and they didn’t have the next size so asked if I could return, the woman who was arguing with another customer about a return then served me, she looked at the trousers and saw a bit of mud off his trousers, she then spoke to me very unprofessional in front of other customers and said she wasn’t returning them, didn’t even offer to return the jacket, the way she spoke to me in front of my 10 year old was horrible and I even had 2 customers come out and say she shouldn’t be working in a customer faced job.
She didn’t give me the option to even wash them at home and return so I just left them on the cash desk and left the store . I then got him some from regatta in fox valley who couldn’t believe what they had done and also gave me a further discount because of the money I had lost in go outdoors. I won’t be renewing my membership and also the 2 other customers that came outside there said they won’t be and I am always spending money in that store every week.

I was served by Josh. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I came out happy with my purchases.

On January 3rd 2026 I was served by Heidi, of the Stocksbridge store, who was Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Not only did she show me the best camping stoves for my needs, she also demonstrated how to connect the canisters to the stove. Thank you for seamless shopping. Dianne

Penny,josh,Phil and Andy all lovely staff super helpful plus good knowledge of product locations. I have only nice things to say. Would 100 percent be back here again if I need anymore gear.

I was very impressed with Penny who brought me all the hiking boots that I was intetested in and suggested I try mens as well. She was patient and friendly and gave me advise about preventing new stiff boots rubbing on my legs. She suggested using vaseline on legs, boots and socks.

Really helpful sales team member Phil. He didn’t rush us and helped us try lots of boots on. Surprisingly informed as he is relatively new to the job.

Very personal assistance from Penny on 18th December. Helped me make my purchase by looking at various options including taking out a Go Outdoors discount card. Didn’t feel pressured at any time.

Well stocked and maintained store. Really nice staff especially Phil who helped my partner find the most suitable socks, nothing was too much trouble and he certainly knew his stuff

Excellent customer service from Penny at this store. She was very helpful and friendly making our shopping experience positive and enjoyable.

We went to go outdoors today to get my 87 year old dad a Christmas present, he accompanied me and my son. My dad has had a stroke, his mobility and vision is mildly affected. My dad was struggling to cope with me and my son's presence and kept telling us to leave the shop so he could browse. A lovely shop assistant called Lauren came to assist him, I said to my dad to ask Lauren for help if he wanted any and left him to it. We came back 20 minutes later and not only had my dad chosen 2 items he couldn't speak highly enough of Lauren. Lauren went above and beyond today to give my dad a great shopping experience and she certainly delivered. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back.

Terrible. Have now been overcharged on three occasions and when it’s been pointed out to the staff on duty the reaction from them is appalling. Reluctantly they eventually, and unapologetically, sort out the issue but it is not done with good grace. Poor attitude shown by MOST of the staff and their items are overpriced even with their ‘membership’ malarkey.

Staff were friendly, approachable and helpful, excellent customer service which made it a pleasure to shop in store
