I am not someone who leaves feedback…
I am not someone who leaves feedback but I would like to inform everyone using or looking to use Lively.com about their customer service when trying to end your service with them.
They are a medical alert company. I need them for about 3 mounts. They were so easy to deal when and purchasing the alert device and setting it up, but when it came time to discontinue the service, it was another story!
WARNING: When it comes time for you to discontinue the service, it’s very difficult. You can’t do it on the website. You have to call and do it. Also, you cannot remove you card I information from their website. I think that should be illegal. It’s at least unethical.
The woman who I had the unpleasant experience of speaking with for customer service was so rude and so intolerable. She consistently talked over everything I had to say. She said they would bill me for one more month ever though the payment was not due for at least another week? I have the email to prove it! I literally had to contact my bank to stop payments to them!
Be very wary of this company. They are very deceptive and extremely unprofessional! I would not recommend them to you!
Expensive and bad csst service
Only quick to answer if placing a new order. Otherwise, very slow to answer. Prices are higher than others.
Batteries wear out and you get to buy another device.
Recieve conflicting info from various representatives. No loyalty for decades long service. The customer service has dropped!
I finally had enough and switched to someone else who values their customers.
MobileHelp for pendant and a trac phone with $5/mo cost.
800-949-6200. Don't wait any longer!
Atrocious device - worse service
I bought this device for my mom before I took a week-long trip out of town last year.
1. She had difficulty working it and keeping it charged. It's NOT simple for an older person and it's definitely not for someone with memory issues or dementia.
2. Earlier this summer (while I was back home), Mom fell three times with this thing's fall monitor system - which is an upcharge - turned on. It did not detect her falls at all. They did, however, have two or three false alarms and call her when it was not necessary to do so.
3. You can do everything online EXCEPT cancel their service. For that, you have to call their support. They called me - doubtlessly to talk to me about why I changed my credit card (unrelated) so they haven't been paid for a service I have not used at all in about four months. I've been on hold for about half an hour... so far. They called me at 7:15 AM on a Saturday, by the way.
(Note: If you change a credit card and a service can't collect payment, most services simply cancel the service. Not Lively! They continued to charge me before calling to collect.)
4. I worked out a better medical monitoring system on my own and for much less money monthly. (I bought a wireless security camera system, installed them in the house, and bought Mom a one-touch-to-call video phone.)
Long story short, Lively is false peace of mind. It's not going to detect anything, you are likely to need to maintain it for the person using it so you'd better live with them, and they're probably not going to remember to use it. And when you discover that it's junk, they make it as difficult as possible to cancel their overpriced subscription.
Fabulous Lively Lyft Concierge Service
Lively/Jitterbug Smart has an interface with the Lyft ride service that is just outstanding. I used it for the first time today -- it was easy and efficient. The Lively operators were knowledgable, helpful, and responsive. I can't say enough about how well this worked for me! I will definitely use it in the future. Very grateful! Thank you Lively!
poor PRICING
Customers run from this cellphone company, there cost is much to expensive, taxes and fees are NOT included.Get a good price from either Boost mobile or Metro mobile, there prices includes all FEES .
HORRIBLE MISTAKE USING LIVELY?
I am in process of setting up a Lively account for my disabled sister who lives quite a distance from me. I first purchased an unlocked phone from Best Buy along with the Lively 3 month SIM card and was assured that all I had to do was insert the SIM in the phone and call Lively to activate. After doing so, LIVELY informed me the phone was not compatible so I returned it. I was going to keep the 3 month SIM and use it on a phone I purchased direct from Lively but they informed me the "discounted 3 month plans" from Best Buy ONLY work if you transfer a phone from another carrier. NOWHERE does it state this info. OK. I went ahead and ordered the Jitterbug 4 from Lively and one month of service. The phone would be completely set up, READY TO GO, and then shipped to my sister so all she had to do was open the box and she could use it. I called the next day to confirm everything and see if I could find out what phone number she would have. According to the customer service agent , there was nothing on the order about the phone being pre-activated and "ready to go" and my sister would be required to activate it when she received it. WHAT? I confirmed that with the sales rep (MIKE) several times before we ended the call when I ordered it. He assured me. All she would have to do was take it out of the box and start using it. Either he was lying or he simply doesn't have a clue what he is talking about! With each phone call to Lively, I have had at least 15-20 minutes wait time before speaking to anyone. SO far, very very unimpressed with this company. The only reason I picked them was the "completely USA based service reps" but no one seems to know left from right at this company so I am afraid this is going to be a nightmare. I'm trying to cancel before they ship but getting the run around.
My review to LIVELY phone service…
My review to LIVELY phone service advertised to Seniors: Awful service and lacking customer service. Just connect directly to Verizon, otherwise you might not receive any assistance in the evening or weekends. Have been dealing with them for a couple years now. It seems everything goes an issue it's difficult to try to get assistance. And forget getting assistance in the evening or weekends. Their service is through Verizon so you may as well connect directly with Verizon, so you can get assistance should you need any. Although Verizon's customer service is lacking these days as well as it takes forever to get through, thanks to AI. A definite no for seniors.
Customer service is a joke
Customer service is a joke, I was having trouble with her auto pay on my parents service, they eventually told me I had to call the bank because it was on the banks end, after spending 40 minutes on hold with htf bank I was told the payment hac gobd thru this morning. I called back to lively tk let them know they were wrong and to talk to someone regarding the problems I have with their customer service and all of a sudden they decided they couldn't talk to me and said I wasn't the on the account. I am on the he account as as matter of fact I'm the one that set the the whole thing up with them. I spent the approximately 5 hours today dealing with this, nog til mention the 50 minutes I spent last month setting up auto which obviously someone didn't do their job last month because it didn't go thru this month. I wouldn't recommend this company.
They Are Not Lively
3/31/25 1. I couldn't reach my auto insurer for roadside service in a rural area. This was with a Jitterbug Smart 3. Fortunately a Good Samaritan was able to reach my insurer with their cell phone.
2 Recently Lively informed me of " Exciting News ! " a $.40 decrease on my monthly bill. I do not find this Exciting. !!
3. Great Call changing their name to Lively was poorly thought out They now share their name with a line of lingerie & a Health Savings Account.
lively.com jitterbug-flip2 worst cell service
lively.com jitterbug-flip2 DOES NOT ALLOW PICTURES ANYMORE.... THE WORST PHONE SERVICE... THEY TAKE IT AWAY WITHOUT NOTIFYING YOU; I can't even txt on this phone anymore complete BS
Their online bill payment system is the…
Their online bill payment system is the worst thing that I have ever encountered. After repeatedly getting a "server error" notification repeatedly after many tries for several weeks, I looked up their payment options only to find that a customer assisted bill payment would cost an addittional $ 4.99 ! I googled other payment options & went with "DOXO*LIVELY", paid the bill & now Lively keeps sending a bill for NON PAYMENT ! Called Doxo & they assured me that Lively does accept payment thru them. They are threatening to send my account to a collection agency ! AVOID THESE SCAMMERS !
In order to cancel
In order to cancel, look under contact for operator services. They will connect you with customer service. That part works. Otherwise they don't know how to credit you with unused time, if you are one day into the new billing period, they will charge you for a whole month. My deceased father-in-law was paying $57 a month for a joke of a phone. You could probably pay that much for a year on TracFone with only one phonenumber to dial. The lively business is a money, making machine, sort of like an insurance for a piece of mind that never has to pay out
Bought this phone for my elderly…
Bought this phone for my elderly brother, thinking that it would be easy to use, but also easy to manage. Easy to manage is not there.
Although he has Wi-Fi access, the phone keeps exceeding the five gig cellular data plan. I’ve had him and customer service on the line several times the cellular data has been turned off, but somehow gets turned on again.
The problem is, they don’t have any functionality to lock this thing down so people don’t inadvertently cause a problem. In my view that’s a very big issue when you hand technology to someone that can’t manage it.
I’ll be terminating the service after getting $300 overage charge.
This is the worst experience I have…
This is the worst experience I have ever had. I set up the phone for my aging aunt (85+ yo). They repeatedly want to speak to the aunt, as they assume she is the primary owner. Because I don't have the "password", I cant sort out the billing error they made, or transact any business with them.
The phone service itself is awful. This phone was the only lifeline my aunt has. No one can ever hear her, because it is garbled. Great idea to have a senior phone, but this is NOT the way to go.
I'd love to leave zero starts
I'd love to leave zero starts. They really try to say they have great customer service but this has been one of the worst customer service companies I've interacted with. We cancelled our service with them about a month into it because switching my mother over to their phone was too difficult. Four months after cancelling service I get a random email telling me that I have a bill. They reactivated my account without telling me...and they insist I pay the fee even though we've been with another carrier the whole time. They refuse to let me speak to a manager or anyone other than the the initial, combative, customer service rep.
Billed me repeatedly for my deceased…
Billed me repeatedly for my deceased fathers phone service. He had taken over the phone a couple years ago but they never took me off the account then started to bill me. Best part is after the service went unpaid they turned off the phone but continued to bill me for service that nobody could have been able to use because the phone was deactivated. Had to waste way too much time clearing this mess up today. I would avoid buying this for your loved ones and stick with a simple phone and a prepaid plan not this this overpriced mess.
SERVICE is terrible
SERVICE is terrible. Cant get signal for calls and can never get or make calls to my loved one. Lively says its verizon network and its our bad location in Silicon valley!! I have visible through verizon and its pretty darn good. Lively sounds like a computer when you call him and every few words cuts out. Only time it gets adequate cell service is out in the street and seniors cant be going out in the street or sidewalk everytime they want to place or get a call. As far as the Phone interface on the smart 4 jitterbug is good for someone who had health issues and needed to get back into using a phone after months in the hospital. The Iphone was too complicated then. But now he is getting good at this phone, its time to go back to verizon or get an unlocked phone and sign him up with visible. Too bad as LIVELY is thE ONLY carrier that the jitterbug smart is able to be used with. Monopoly over seniors. Phone is ok. CLock and alarm are a nightmare to use and set. But other software interface features are pretty good. Wish we could use another carrier because obviously verizon is giving lively the bottom of the barrel worst possible network they can..
Lively (and Best Buy) is an ironic name…
Lively (and Best Buy) is an ironic name for this
company. Their billing on making calls are outrageous - charging $2.00 a minute for an overseas call was twice as much as using a $25
Walgreen card. Their staff are confused and helpless- prompt you to go online that's like fighting a shield. I'm changing "lively" provider tomorrow and filing a complaint with the FCC.
.
Avoid Lively at all costs
Avoid Lively at all costs. They mean well, but their products SUCK. Let me recap my last 60 days with lively.
My aunt has some severe vision problems and relied on a flipphone 1 make phone calls. Flip open the lid and Lively would ask you who to call. This worked fine until it didn't.
After what has been 15-20 phone calls and one replacement, I finally found a second hand iphone that should work.
Nature of MAJOR phone calls
1. Hi. Voice dialing won't work. Answer: Oh..that's an old phone and may just be broken. Bye a new one
(Gets new phone for $90.00)
2. Hi. Voice dialing works sometimes. Answer: Lets do a hardware reset. Enter this code
3. Hi. Voice dialing still works sometimes. Answer: Lets replace the phone under warranty
4. Hi. Voice Dialing won't work at all. Answer: Oh. Didn't we tell you voice dialing doesn't work anymore because amazon changed their terms and conditions. But I can open a ticket for you. Well call you back with an answer to the ticket
5. Crickets
Save yourself the frustration and get an iphone and use Siri.
Awful Customer Service
If I could rate Lively from Best Buy Health at zero stars I would. I bought a phone for my father at the end of Nov 2024 as a Christmas present. My father did not like the large size of the smart phone so I returned it 2-days later due to the 30-day money back guarantee. The phone was never used, and never activated. I obtained the return tracking number as required and mailed it out on Dec 3, 2024. On Jan 17, 2025, I called the company because my Discover card was NOT credited and I was receiving overdue billing notices of $46.97. The customer service rep told me the phone was received, but NOT returned to stock and she would take care of this for me. As of Feb 13, 2025, NOTHING has been done. I have not been credited $197.07 for the phone, and am STILL receiving pas due notices on an account that was NEVER activated. I have submitted a request to Discover for a charge-back, but I am still waiting for the bills to stop and the full amount of the phone to be credited to my account. This is an awful company that does NOT honor their 30-day money back policy. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!
