After being contacted by Halo connect


After being contacted by Halo connect several weeks ago I agreed to a telephone appointment which lasted almost an hour. I was keen to switch to a cloud based telephone system so I gave them all the info they needed in order for them to give me a price. At the end of the conversation I asked them to send the details of the contract to me on an email so I'd have everything in writing and that was the last I heard from them. A total waste of my time (and theirs).

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed. All business owners to be very wary of Halo Connect. After being with them for 6 months I started getting invoices for amounts that are not in my agreed contract. Emailed and called the company. Tried to speak to the customer service manager and he never calls me back. Now the company has restricted my phone calls because I haven’t paid the invoice. Terrible customer service.

Halo connect love them

Halo connect give a brilliant customer service they are always ready to advise and help with problems and are great value I highly recommend for all your FULL FIBRE BROADBAND NEEDS its amazing so much faster and better than before

Why would anyone go into contract with a company that's now dissolved.

Very helpful company

I have used Halo connect for over a year. The customer service was excellent all the way through from the set up to the day we had to leave.

When my business shut down and we had to terminate our contract Halo connect when’s above and beyond to make sure we was able to do this without any hassle.

They understood how Covid-19 had impacted not only my business but myself personally and made sure the termination was as smooth as possible.

They were always on hand at the end of the phone or email to rectify any problems quickly and efficiently.

Would highly recommend this company.

"Bloody Magic!"

New phone system has just been installed.
Staff members reactions range from "Bloody Magic!" to "F**kin' Brilliant!"
Two good lads, Anthony & Sam did the install.
Very friendly, helpful and informative.
Obviously, teething problems may arise, but up to now it's been a very positive experience.
Very Happy!

Awful Customer Service

The debacle started in November 2020 when we were cold called by Halo offering equivalent services plus extras for less money, we agreed a price, installation date for a new phone line so business interruption would be kept to a minimum. All the right things were said, which ended up being too good to be true. After 3 visits from a BT engineer over 2 months we were still waiting for services to come online. As we were paying our original provider as well as Halo, they refused to refund the 2 months as they said our line had been operational, even though it was not our business number! To this day we are still waiting for the refundable £150 + VAT fee, plus 2 months of lost service to be refunded. 8 emails, 3 phone calls and they do not want to know, and will not reply.
We have now found out that the last 2 payments are now £20 higher than what was agreed upon taking the contract out, and not only that, separate charges from Datatel/GOCARDLESS with random amounts are now being taken every couple of weeks. We have asked for clarification of these charges, along with some sort of invoice, as we have not had a single invoice since the contract started, yet we cannot get anyone to reply to our concerns. The next step will be legal action.
Basically, if it goes well for you then i imagine everything will be fine, but if you have any problem at all then you are in for a rough ride as customer service does not exist here, they do not care at all, and when they do reply they do not have a clue how to help.

Hi Chris,

We are very sorry that you feel your experience has been negative and that this has lead to you leaving a review.

On Friday, you spoke with one of our colleagues in the Customer Experience team and we thought it best to reply on the points you have raised within your review.

At the conception of your agreement you were made aware that there is a transitional period where both our services and your old services will both be live, this is because you wished to port a number away from your old provider. A number port involves both the losing party and ourselves in order to complete, your number port was submitted on the 4th of December once we had received the signed letter of authority back from you. In all cases we request an immediate port, however as we mentioned before, a number port involves both parties and your old provider did not confirm the port for completion until the 28th of January. The reason you were not refunded is that our services were live with a temporary number on the platform so that you have the ability to make a receive calls, this was also made clear to you upon the conception of the agreement.

Regarding the refund of £150.00 +VAT, you were advised by our colleague Jessica Bamping on the 19th of November that we require an invoice to be raised in order for the refund to be actioned. We have yet to receive this invoice and our colleague once again requested this from you on Friday.

You have also mentioned that two of your initial payments have exceeded the agreed amount, after looking into this for you we have found that as you have not provided the finance company with proof that the leased goods have been insured, they have placed a temporary insurance policy on your account to cover the items. A letter was sent to you on December 15th advising you of this and requesting proof of an existing policy so that you would not be charged. As our colleague advised on Friday, once proof of a policy has been sent to us, we can have this insurance charge removed and all previous payments refunded.

You also discussed invoices with our colleague on Friday and since the inception of the agreement you have been sent a monthly automated invoice on three occasions, these were also re-sent to you during your discussion with our colleague.

We understand that moving services can sometimes be a tedious task but we have made every effort to make the transition as smooth as possible and have provided you with all the instruction and information you need in order to follow our processes. We do not feel that this review has been left with fair and adequate consideration of our efforts but we appreciate the feedback.

I’d class it as bullying in the workplace as that is how I felt, I was pregnant and I was treated differently because of this.
Disgraceful place to work. I was promised a wage, and I never got paid.

Firstly, we are really disappointed that you have felt the need to leave this review. Normally, we wouldn't respond to personal matters of an employee via an open forum. However, as a family owned business that puts its team members at the centre of everything that it does, We feel compelled to provide some further context to the points you have raised.

You have stated that you feel that you were bullied because you were pregnant. After reviewing all of your weekly support meetings (which we carry out all team members) you confirm, in writing that you have been not only happy but also supported fully by your managers in your job and throughout your pregnancy.

As you were having personal issues during your pregnancy we made sure that you had enough time off to attend additional appointments. Not only did we allow the time off we paid you for the time to ensure you didn't have any further stress financially during your pregnancy. On one occasion, the business paid you to attend an appointment for a full day as the meeting was scheduled out of the area.

Unfortunately, you then made the decision that the job wasn't for you, which we completely understood. We then, agreed to pay you for a full months salary even though you'd only actually worked a week. After checking with the finance team, I can confirm that this has been paid.

Old fashioned customer service

These guys are great! How often these days can you get through to a company straight away and speak to an actual human being who has the skills to deal with your problem there and then. I have been with this company now for over 5 years and have recommended them to other business owners!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I signed up with this company in June 2019. It is now January 2021 and I am still yet to receive my dedicated broadband. I have asked to be released from this contract which they are refusing to do but I am still having to pay. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Empty promises from day one.

You signed a contract with us on 16th of August 2019, we agreed a site survey date of 29th of October 2019 which you did not attend, and we were charged for. We did not charge you as a gesture of goodwill.

We then rebooked a second and third site surveys on 11th of November and 18th of November, we were charged again for both appointments, and we did not charge you as a gesture of goodwill. We made it clear at the point of sale that we would need further information from you in order to install these services. On the 4th of February we emailed you chasing further information regarding the required asbestos survey. We did not receive a reply to this email and since that time the order for the leased line has been on hold. Although we as a business have been charged over £1500 in missed appointment fees by the network, we have not passed a single charge to yourself.

Furthermore, you have not paid a bill for this service since the day of sale. With the best will in the world, we do not know what else we could have done to provide a better level of service. We have gone above and beyond to try and be flexible with you as much as possible. We have gone beyond our capabilities and at this point we are unable to do anything further until we receive the required information.

As the company Customer Experience Manager took time to reply, I called the company and discussed it with him. He has since responded. Thanks for taking my comment seriously, I have amended the review and stars accordingly - not quite 5 stars, but a good place to start. I really hope you follow through.

My original review:

Took a cold call from this company. They told me they are working with Virgin Business.

My experience was with a pushy, self-serving individual who lacked awareness that they were shoehorning their own agenda unsolicited.

When they didn’t get the response they wanted, they blamed me and put the phone down.

Message to the management - They could improve their training.
