We chose Jewel after a professional sales process and competitive quote, but unfortunately the installation itself fell well below the standard we expected.

Our windows were installed in June. On the first day, our front bay was left incomplete because two panes had not been brought to site, with temporary timber fitted instead. The original fitting team then couldn’t return the following day, leaving us with an unfinished front bay and a security concern overnight. Jewel did respond quickly after we escalated this and sent someone the next morning to make the property secure.

More concerningly, the replacement fitters subsequently identified cracking around the bedroom bay above and told us the bay needed to be raised by approximately 8mm. When they raised it, the cracking visibly tightened.

Over the following months we needed several further visits for cracking, windows becoming difficult to open or close, alignment and compression adjustments, draughts, vents and gaps around the installation. The previously repaired cracking also reopened internally on both sides of the upstairs bay and appeared externally.

To Jewel’s credit, their aftercare team have continued to engage with us. A field manager has inspected the installation and the latest remedial engineer was thorough, checked all of the windows and made good the remaining cracks. He believes the bay is now correctly supported and that the remaining cracking is settlement following the problems with the original installation. We are now monitoring the repairs.

So this is a mixed experience. The aftercare has generally been responsive and the people sent to rectify the problems have been helpful. However, we simply should not have needed this number of visits and remedial works after paying for professionally supplied and fitted new windows.

The original installation created months of avoidable hassle, and based on that experience I couldn’t currently recommend Jewel. I will update the review if the repairs remain stable and the issues are finally behind us.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company based on the quality of the work carried out. The windows and window sills have been installed incorrectly and are visibly crooked. The insulation around the windows has also been poorly done, with gaps, holes and areas where the expanding foam has not been applied properly.

We had scaffolding in place, which allowed us to inspect the installation closely and see the problems clearly. What we discovered was shocking. This is not the standard of workmanship anyone should expect from a professional window installation company.

I strongly advise anyone considering using this company to check the installation carefully before accepting the work and making the final payment. Do not assume everything has been done correctly just because the windows look fine from a distance.

A proper installation should be level, straight, properly sealed and fully insulated. Unfortunately, in our case, these basic standards have not been met.

I hope the company takes responsibility and improves its quality control, because customers deserve better than this. Please make sure you thoroughly inspect your windows and sills after installation. Don't make the same mistake of trusting that everything has been done properly without checking.

Jewel replaces our old conservatory and we are delighted with the results. There were issues, problems with our existing frames and doors were not picked up with the survey, but only when a new roof install was attempted. Jewel reacted brilliantly, apologised for not picking this up earlier, and providing us with cost effective options to proceed. The work was delayed but they ensured it was carried out ASAP and to a very high standard. The installers were professional and friendly.
Impressed and would highly recommend them.

This company has extremely poor administration and communication. They started off poorly by missing an entire bay of windows, which was identified by their surveyor on his first of many visits. The window plan that was provided was extremely unclear and difficult to understand.

We are working with a project manager who is supposed to be their point of contact. Every single time they get in touch, they call my husband who then refers them to the project manager and has to provide his email and/or phone number. They don't seem to have a way to add him as a contact.

The worst problem is that they have not yet ordered a large sliding door for the back of the house even though other windows have been installed already. We only recently found out that they need to do another survey before it can actually be ordered. This means we are moving into the house and it is likely to have a gaping opening in the back where that door should be. They have not been able to provide information on what the lead time is for the door, because the people who call me and my husband (and then get referred on to the project manager) do not know what door we ordered or any of the specifications.

This issue is still ongoing. At this point I would highly recommend steering clear of Jewel Windows.

David Johnson has been excellent this morning with fitting my new front door. Very friendly and professional. Turned up on time, and did the work efficiently and to a very high quality.

I would happily have him do future work for me again. Him and Jewel have been really good and I wouldn’t hesitate to refer them to other people.

I found all the staff to be helpful & courteous throughout the process. The windows & door look absolutely fantastic & have totally transformed my house. Dave, who installed them did a brilliant job not just with the fitting but making sure to show me how everything operated. He left the house clean & tidy at the end of the installation. I would thoroughly recommend Jewel.

We've used Jewel a few times now.

Five star fitters, excellent job: polite, tidy even helped quickly fix a couple of issues with a different door and window.

Builder (GERL) who fitted the new lintel also very good.

The only thing that made me think about giving 4 stars was for having to chase dates, and perhaps they could have determined that a lintel was required sooner. But thought it would have been unfair because the work has been done really well.
