Im giving four stars - but with HEAVY reservations to take note and hope Kameraservice will take as constructive customer feedback .
The positive:
-I got reasonable price quoted for lens motor replacement and return shipping via email, before actually shipping the lens. Final price remained same.
-The repair quality seems great to me, the issue was corrected and to my hobbyist eye i am more than content with the results.
The negative:
-After agreeing about the repair and sending the lens there was basically no communication. No message for receiving the lens, no confirming the issue after receiving it, no information about the progress with lens nor estimate when it could estimated to be ready.
-My email inquiries got either extreme-to-the-point replies which really werent too helpful ("we are waiting spare part") or just ignored.
-The whole process took some 4,5 months counting from me shipping and then receiving the lens, which imho is very long time and i would have liked to know ahead of time.
-if there was delay about say receiving the spare part etc - it would have been more than enough to be informed that "Sorry for reason so-and-so your repair is delayed" - delays for whatever reason are understandable and do happen because of outside reasons ...but as customer i would like to know if there is the risk of big delay, uncertainty is one of the worse feelings.
Summary
Would i use them again? I think yes, but only with non-urgent repairs.
Luckily i wasnt in particular hurry with this lens, but needing to wait over four months IN THE BLIND is not very good experience.
So if youre in hurry, i would suggest you very clearly communicate with them before hand is your needed timelines possible or not before shipping your gear over.
