Our purchase completed nearly two months ago, but unfortunately the post-completion service has been disappointing.

Since completion, we have had to repeatedly chase for updates. Although the registration has now finally been completed, LPL is still holding £250 of our money and we are also still waiting for receipts/payment confirmations for several charges

More frustratingly, recent emails and messages to the post-completion team have gone unanswered.

The conveyancing itself was eventually completed, but communication after completion has been poor and we should not have to keep chasing for money and documents that are still outstanding two months later.

My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The most frustrating aspect was the repeated lack of communication and apparent lack of progress. The solicitor originally handling my purchase, JR would sometimes go several weeks without providing any meaningful update. On multiple occasions, I had to contact the firm myself simply to find out what was happening with my purchase. This became a recurring problem throughout the transaction.

The situation became even worse when JR went on holiday. In my experience, there appeared to be little or no effective handover of my case to the solicitor covering his absence. KH took over the matter, but I found my dealings with him particularly disappointing. He repeatedly asked me for information that I had already provided more than six weeks earlier. This left me with the strong impression that the file had not been properly reviewed before he took responsibility for the case.

I also found KH's manner during my dealings with him to be rude, confrontational and unprofessional. Rather than seeing the matter progress, I felt I spent considerable time explaining information that was already on the file. From my perspective, the lack of preparedness and continuity resulted in several weeks of unnecessary delay with little meaningful progress.

When JR eventually returned from holiday, the transaction did finally move forward and the purchase was completed. However, even then, communication remained extremely poor. There were occasions when I had to telephone the office more than three times in one day simply to obtain a response by email. I was never able to speak directly to the solicitor and was repeatedly told to leave a message and wait for a call back. In many instances, that call back simply never came.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that I was not expecting preferential treatment or constant updates. I simply expected a professional conveyancing service, reasonable communication, proper file management and an effective handover when the solicitor dealing with my case was unavailable.

Instead, I felt that I had to continually chase LPL to get my own house purchase moving. The transaction became significantly more stressful than it needed to be, and I was left extremely frustrated by the lack of communication, continuity and urgency.

While I appreciate that property transactions can encounter delays and that solicitors can be busy, the level of communication and service I experienced fell well below what I consider reasonable.

I would not use LPL again and, based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and communicative conveyancing solicitor. My house purchase was eventually completed, but the process was made unnecessarily stressful by the way my case was handled.

This review reflects my personal experience of dealing with LPL and the specific events that occurred during my purchase.

Helpful company and very easy to work with. Calls are screened by a contact centre which can make getting in touch with your solicitor difficult via phone.

Overall a good service thank you, but whereas we were kept up to date frequently with events during the process of remortgaging the "On boarding system didn't work well. Also it felt like there wasn't anyone in overall control and it appeared that our House Valuation Report wasn't read until later in that we were asked for more and more reports as we went along. Finally LPL weren't able to do the whole process and we had to pay a second Solicitor to complete but to be fair this was down to a clause from the Mortgage supplier and I only mention it to warn others.
