Ward recommended we use Martin Tolhurst for our property purchase. Their service was very poor. No reply to emails, I had to constantly chase and follow up on them until completion. Staff also had an unprofessional attitude. On the overall not a great experience dealing with them.

Martin Tolhurst were really good helping us buy a house. They took us through the information from the searches, helping where we needed an indemnity from the vendor, and then exchanged really quickly once everything was agreed. We'd definitely use again.

The solicitors were excellent and kept us in the loop during the who sales process they very professional and nothing was too much trouble, we would recommend their service to family and friends without hesitation. Thank you

As a first time purchaser, Martin Tolhurst Solicitors were a joy to use. It could have been quite daunting otherwise. From an initial letter in late June, to the appointment as my Solicitors on 23 July 2024 until completion, so pleased with the work done on my behalf.

Fantastic solicitors at Martin Tolhurst I had Kirsty working on my case helping me with the purchase of my first home.

Kirsty was brilliant she was very quick to reply to emails or if she was not available one of her colleagues would in her place. After using this firm for various conveyancing services on buying and selling commercial and residential property, it made no sense to look elsewhere for assistance with will planning. Sarah and the team at Longfield were swift and diligent in drawing up a joint will for my wife and I, which in turn was finalised and arranged within the week.

Martin Tolhurst Solicitors were recommended to us by Wards when we were in the process of selling a property.
We had good communication via Wards initially; the searches were made and we were notified of each search being completed. Document requests and queries were smooth transactions. Nearing exchange we pushed for more direct communication and I have to say that from the Martin Tolhurst side of things, Sonya Perkins was brilliant with efficient phone calls and information regarding the exchange and completion dates. I think communication is imperative when completing such a stressful life event. We had no chain, the buyers were first time buyers and we were not buying, a simple buy and sell but it still took 4 and a half months. Be prepared for how long these things can take.

We instructed Sarah from Martin Tolhurst to deal with the application for Probate and estate distribution following my father-in-law's passing earlier this year. We have been very happy with Sarah's work and support. She, and her colleagues, have been very helpful through the whole of this process. Estate distribution has now been completed and we are more than happy with the service provided.

I cannot recommend Martin Tolhurst Solicitors enough. We lost our first buyers and when we sold again shortly after, Stacey worked above and beyond to keep chasing on our behalf. They were most accommodating, especially if there was something we didn't quite understand. They were prompt in replying to phone calls or emails, I couldn't wish for a better experience.

It was my first time buying a new house. I need professional solicitors to help me on the way. Martin Tolhurst did that! They were honest with their estimated fees, and good level of service. Anything I asked for legally, they provided, and they suggested documents that I never thought of. Thank you for help. I would recommend them to anyone.

Kirsty at the Gillingham branch was superb in helping convey both our sale and purchase and was very quick to respond to any queries and actions. She really helped to keep both sale and purchase on track and helped to manage our buyer's solicitors (Martin Tolhurst Ashford) who did not seem to be so experienced. This is the only reason for the reduction of one star given this feedback is for Martin Tolhurst overall. The buyer's solicitors did regularly request information that was already provided to them and did not seem as proactive or quick to respond as the Gillinaham branch. For example, full hyperlinks were shared to planning documents which were subsequently forwarded as part of a scanned document but the Ashford branch claimed they were not able to open the links as they couldn't "click" on the link. They could easily have spent an extra minute or two to type out the hyperlink but instead delayed proceeding by 3 to 4 weeks by sitting on the issue before responding to inform us some enquiries were still outstanding due to them not being able to access the "shared" planning documents.

Overall, an exceptional experience and service provided by Kirsty and the team at the Gillingham branch. The Ashford branch may need some additional support or training to get to the same level as the Gillinham branch.

As first time buyers, we were recommended Martin Tolhurst by Wards. MT were friendly and they understood any concerns and worries we had trying to get everything sorted. My only problem was, there was a lot of paperwork coming through, and sometimes no explanation of what needed to happen, especially if I had missed something on the documents. And a lot of the times, I was sent repetitive documents, which has wasted a lot of printer ink and paper trying to keep it all together. It has taken from May to September to get our house, it's taken a while, and we had no chain either.
