Had problems with 2 yr free cover on my Lenovo PC bought from Currys, but McAfee did warn me of problems re Dark Web even when my first had expired. Would still be active with them if they responded at all to my calls/emails.

Desde luego no volveré a comprarle. Si una persona compra un antivirus para estar tranquilo, no puede ser que te salgan ventanas emergentes metiéndote miedo de que tu información está expuesta y que si pagas más te lo resuelven. No lo recomiendo y para cuando toque renovar me daré de baja.

When I visit a legitimate, normal, completely ordinary website, McAfee, which I don't even have the subscription for, starts going on about a rant that I have viruses, of course, my stomach drops, I start a scan on Windows Defender... Nothing.

The conclusion is that McAfee just wants to steal your money with fake malware popups for absolutely 0 reason.

I brought Mcfee Total Protection from Argos.
I have been buying it for the last couple of years.
I brought it recently and inorder to complete activation i need to enter my bank details (for auto-renewal).
I do not want to enter my bank details and do not want the subscription automatically renewed.
I am on a tight budget and also forget to cancel subscriptions.
(It does not matter if I can do it later.)
It was very disappointing that it is mandatory to enter bank details, when I have brought it as a stand-alone product.
It should be the customer's choice rather then a requirement for auto-renewal.

For a company claiming to keep you safe online they stole £199.99 from my Bank Account! I emailed them I did NOT want to renew my subscription. My Bank blocked them TWICE when they tried to take payment - my bank explained they just reapply for your money using different names!
Seriously shocked and disappointed by them. Will NEVER use again. My bank refunded the money to me but this company is completely unethical.

Hvorfor i alverden er Mcafee installeret på en ny PC, der efter den gratis prøveperiode man ikke har bedt om, i et væk spammer min PC med en ulidelig uophørlig spam reklame der påstår der er alt muligt i vejen med min PC, men mit rigtige virusprogram siger der ingen fare er, jeg nægter at lade mig spamme til et unødvendigt virusprogram.

Fanns på både laptop och PC (köpta med ca 1 års mellanrum), ruskigt dåligt och nästintill omöjligt att avinstallera. Blev tokig på hur inställningar ändrades för webbläsaren hela tiden, tills jag fattade att programmet fanns kvar trots att jag försökt avinstallera allt. Blev tvingad båda gångerna att installera ett annat av deras program för att avinstallera allt. Extremt irriterande!

UPDATE- May 27: They finally gave me a case number (05762589) but they are trying to redirect me to a broken support link instead of processing my refund. Still ghosting the email request. Do your job and refund my money!
UPDATE - May 25, 2026: Still NO ANSWER from McAfee after one week. Total radio silence from their support. They are literally running away with my money (¥25,274). This confirms they are a fraudulent company. I am now filing an official complaint with consumer protection and starting the chargeback process. DO NOT TRUST THEM.
SHAMEFUL SCAM: Annual billing since 2020 for a service I never used !
This company has been illegally and systematically withdrawing ¥25,274 from my bank account every single year since 2020 without my consent. This is an absolute SCAM.
To make matters worse, they are charging me for a McAfee antivirus subscription, yet I only use a Mac computer and do not own a SINGLE device running this software. It is completely uninstalled, unused, and incompatible with my setup. Charging a customer for six years for a non-existent service is fraudulent financial abuse.
I have sent a formal dispute email to their support demanding an immediate and full refund of all misappropriated funds since 2020 and the instant cancellation of this ghost subscription.
If a full refund is not issued immediately, I will escalate this directly to consumer protection authorities, file an official fraud complaint with law enforcement, and instruct my lawyer to initiate a heavy, costly legal procedure against them. Give me my money back!

McAfee is currently withholding A$204.95 from me in clear breach of their own written policy and Australian Consumer Law.
The Facts:
- 4 May 2026: Support agent Emmanuel sent written confirmation that a full refund for Order PL3825577867 was successfully processed.
- The Promise: I was told funds would reflect in 3 to 5 business days.
- The Penalty: McAfee immediately cancelled my LiveSafe subscription, leaving my devices completely unprotected.
- The Reality: It has been over two weeks. No money has arrived.
McAfee has effectively cut off my service while keeping my funds. Standard support lines offer no real answers. If this matter is not resolved immediately by their senior billing team with a valid transaction ARN tracking number, this case will be escalated as a formal complaint to the ACCC and Fair Trading for misleading conduct under the ACL.

je n'ai pas demandé à télécharger Mc security plus et je passe du temps ( donc perds de l'argent) pour le supprimer par deux méthodes : pour le moment toujours actif... donc je zappe les autres produits McFee !

Vous achetez un ordinateur, vous ne demandez rien, et voila que non seulement Mcaffee est préinstallé mais en plus vous ne pouvez pas l'enlever. De plus, vous avez souvent des "relances" du genre qui font peur et ont pour objectif de vous inciter à vous abonner. Bien entendu, je ne prendrais jamais cet antivirus mais j'espère que beaucoupp de monde me suivra dans cette démarche.

Right after installation, both Windows Defender and Malwarebytes flagged McAfee's files as threats (PUA/Adware/Trojan components). The software aggressively forces its own extensions (WebAdvisor), hijacks browser settings, and tracks user behavior, acting exactly like the malware it is supposed to prevent. It causes severe system conflicts and completely tanks computer performance. Buying this feels like paying 100 PLN to infect your own PC with bloated adware. Stick to Windows Defender – it is free, safe, and actually works.

Das ist für mich ehrlich gesagt das letzte was dieser Verein sich hier leisten. Ich habe mehrere Male versucht über die McAfee Webseite zu kündigen. Jedes mal kommt der Text: "Wir bedauern blabla und wir überweisen die Differenz von ... innerhalb der nächsten 4 Tage auf ihr Konto." Das wsr letztes Jahr im November. Wir haben jetzt Mai und passiert ist nichts. Ich warte. Ausserdem habe ich im Dezember eine Email an den Support geschickt mit allen Screenshots und der Aufforderung zum kündigen. Ich warte auch da seit letzter jahr auf eine Antwort. Vor zwei Wochen habe ich die letzte Email noch einmal an den kundensupport geschickt und auch hier warte ich wieder auf Antwort. Obwohl ich über die Seite eine automatische Verlängerung deaktiviert habe, wurde mir geld abgezogen. Das ist eine bodenlose frechheit. Aber was soll ich schon von minderwertigen amerikanischen Produkten auch anderes erwarten. Mittlerweile habe ich ein anderes Produkt erworben, dass um ein vielfaches besser und günstiger ist.

Wenn man null Sterne geben könnte, würde ich das tun. Mc Affe müllt seit Tagen mein E-Mail-Postfach bis 10-mal am Tag zu mit immer der gleichen Botschaft: dass mein Virenschutz in 48 Stunden abläuft, wenn ich ihn nicht in dieser Zeit erneuere. Dabei habe ich gar keinen Virenschutz, der ablaufen kann. Ich frage mich, wann die Dösköppe es endlich kapieren, dass ich keinen Virenschutz von ihnen haben möchte. Wahrscheinlich haben die nichts zu tun, weil keiner ihre Dienste in Anspruch nimmt und drehen den ganzen Tag Däumchen. Aber da ich den ganzen Tag am Rechner sitze, habe ich die "Botschaften" von Mc Affe schneller im Papierkorb, als sie Mc Affe sagen können.

Purchased from store 1 year subscription after inputting production key cannot activate unless provide bank card details for auto renewal which i do not want - spent an hour on phone with customer services promising once i give my bank card details i can turn off auto renewal - i got fed up telling the polite chap i have paid i do not want auto renewal - i just want the product i purchased in store -
