The Mcdowalls Property management team have excelled themselves to deliver a service beyond my expectations,
Under the watchful eye of their operations director Mark Williams, the team have been able to identify and resolve historical issues, in addition to possessing the wisdom and foresight to implement new services that streamline the property management service, which in turn works for the betterment of the residents and leaseholders alike.
I would recommend McDowalls for blocks looking to hire a professional company with a fresh approach to block management, that can help raise the standards in their development.

I had an excellent experience with McDowalls Surveyors, especially with their property management department. Lewis Sweeney was professional, responsive, and very supportive throughout the process. Communication was clear and timely, and the team made everything straightforward. I would happily recommend their services.

McDowalls became our property managers about 18 months ago, they immediately stopped our the parking attendants who regularly visit as we are we close to a train station. This was done only to save money, now we have lost our garden maintenance, which is again to save money. Our gardens are a complete mess and rats are now seen regularly onsite. The staff are rude and lie constantly and continuously raise what they expect us to pay.We are desperate to get rid of McDowalls

As to your reply, I have not emailed you. That is another person and although you insist that there are no other complaints from anyone else, I along with everyone else at the property know that is another lie

Our service charges have doubled, building insurance costs have shot through the roof and response for routine external repairs are ignored for months and months. Insurance companies reject any claim due lack of maintenance.
Emails are ghosted except for their request for more money. Top management and directors appear to be reaping the profits and doing none of the work

Response to your comments- I have only made 1 post about the block management services. I am not alone with frustration.

I appreciate costs have gone up but one primary difference- one call to the previous management company resolved out issues.

With McDowalls I have keep chasing up issues again and again and again. The time I have wasted chasing things up. Paid £800 out of pocket because repairs you should have carried out January when I reported ingress of water. Repairs finally done September . Repairs and redecoration due to mould on ceiling and wall of living room insurance claim not possible as cause was lack of maintenance.

Really, really terrible. Forced upon us by the landlord. We’ve since enfranchised and tried at first to work with them. While doing so we were given notice (they chose not to work us as clients), and yet they’re sitting on our service charge surplus saying they can’t complete the accounts and refund us until they sort out a communal electricity issue (an issue which highlights their incompetence - they have not paid the electricity bill since 2021). The account managers keeps changing - 3 in 2 years, and each getting worse in terms of levels of communication, response times, helpfulness, professionalism.

I would like to express my profound disappointment with this agency. In my experience, their conduct was far from professional. They contacted my workplace to obtain references, reached out to my former landlord—who also provided references—and even called my mother's employer, who supplied additional references. Furthermore, they requested access to my bank account, which I promptly granted by providing statements.

After nearly two weeks of this extensive and intrusive process, they informed me that my application was declined due to my income, despite this figure being clearly communicated from the outset. The ordeal they put me through was both unnecessary and distressing, especially as I had dismissed all other housing options because they indicated I had progressed to the referencing stage.

Despite gathering all the required documentation and receiving all necessary references, they inexplicably decided that this was insufficient. I found their approach unprofessional, invasive, disrespectful, and wholly unnecessary. Their lack of integrity has caused me significant inconvenience. I will certainly not seek their services again and will pursue my rental search with another agency.

Extremely happy with the service and for a very reasonable price.

Chris was excellent, took time to explain the whole lease extension process his report was submitted the next day. Absolute pleasure to deal with. Would not hesitate to recommend.
