MINT...aka" Manipulating Individuals Neglecting Trust" Thats what their company should stand for... Mint was good to work for at first, being my first hospitality agency after managing a well known branded restaurant for 15 yrs+ I provided all my hospitality knowledge & experience including bar service, restaurant, customer service, customer interaction, all kinds of professional and experienced service, i did each time even when I was only given an hours notice, I gave them all my free time, everytime, i was expected to coach new recruits (which was not my place or job to) I worked till daft A.M in the mornings, and the ONE TIME, the one time I had to call in to cancel my shift, never have I ever done so before, I was never late, my shift was a Saturday night shift, approx 8-10 hrs shift, I woke to find i could hardly walk on my right foot when i placed my foot onto the floor, it caused me to badly limp, and was in utter agony, upon contacting the office, after speaking with a Mint Supervisor, Iwas rudly told "come in or receive your P45", I was in complete disbelief, how dare they threaten this! I couldn't walk across the hallway let alone serve 100+ guest a 4 course dining meal for long hours, then clean up afterwards for two or more hours, so yeah they sent me my P45, their loss ,my gain because I got to know the real Mint and not the muppets whom pretend to know how to be professional, show empathy and drive customer mania, I bet they can't even spell professional or hospitality if I opened the dictionary up at the right page for them!! Totally rude, dis-respectful, no compromisation, no okay get well, stay in touch etc, no professional rapour was present. I was diagnosed by my gp and consultant in the end with Plantar Fasciatis, so I actually had a condition, i had to have steroid injections put into the heel/archway of my foot and was certainly not hung over from a Friday Night out like there pea sized brains presumed and thought thats the reason i was unwilling 😡 Beware, proceed with caution, if you don't dance their tune your work story is history & re-written! Avoid at all cost if anything try firstly seeking out other agencies like "Staff UK", "CherryRed Recruitment", 'Berkley Scott" and more-so their nightmare rivals...Ha ha like "Verve" that'll p*** them off for sure! They us AI to hire people. Terrible thing to do.

Do not work here, they pay minimum wage and can send you home at any time. Wages is never right paid me wrong. More than 6 weeks and they can't sort out their mistake.

Today they fire me for calling Neil the Irish that work in the Spudvan truck on the festivals he cancelled all my shifts for Leeds and Sevenoaks. He knows his work but as a Manager he is useless gave us dry jacket patato from previous day to eat with EGg but he eat sirloin steak. I don't want to work for stupid people. They pay minimum wage and the work is hard in pot wash. Glad I don't work for them anymore. Hannah the consultant is useless. Tried to be bossy with me over what's app

The worst agency I've ever dealt with please save the heartache and avoid at all costs.

Avoid Mint People if you expect to be paid fairly and honestly.

I accepted a shift that was advertised and confirmed at £21 per hour, but I was only paid £18 per hour. When I raised the issue, instead of correcting the underpayment, Mint People included my holiday pay in the calculation and issued me with a negative payslip.

The problems didn’t end there. I also worked a 2-hour shift, which the venue confirmed I had completed. Mint People acknowledged over the phone that I had worked those hours and told me I would be paid. However, when it came to payday, they removed the shift from their system as if I had never worked it, leaving me unpaid for those two hours.

After reading other reviews, I can see that many people have experienced similar problems with pay and communication. My own experience has been stressful, frustrating, and completely unprofessional.

I would not recommend Mint People to anyone looking for agency work. Make sure you keep copies of every booking, message, and payslip, because if something goes wrong, you may need the evidence.

Beware of this company read the fine print ! They tell you your paid x amount and find out that you are paid less but because they add your holiday pay to your wages so when you want to take holiday you get paid nothing !
Withe regard to getting information about pay etc you will fond that it is impossible to get help ! They are rubbish beware of Mont People !! I’m still fighting to even see all of my payslips now after 4 months ??

I was assigned to festival shifts 3 weeks ahead and they cancelled all of the shifts 2 hours before they were due to start on each day. I tried to get in contact all day each day with anyone from the company and no one would respond. Just really terrible treatment of staff and so disrespectful. Don’t work here there are so many other agencies. I’m really disgusted.

Clowns I registered with them now they are claiming I did not register properly??????????? please avoid it shows lack of communication and everything is done via a bloody mobile number losers

It’s very much a scratch each others back situation, if you're willing to put the effort in. Plenty of opportunities will come your way.

Looking at the reviews it seems like people who are unaware of how agency shifts work or never worked for mint.

I covered the full winter season with mint and still there was plenty of jobs, from events, football grounds and private parties.

If I didn’t have commitments. I would have happily continued working for mint.

I felt very respected by Mint People. They looked at my CV and called me directly to book an appropriate management position and communicated well onwards.

Cant stop them spamming me with rediculas jobs miles away or for pennys.

Do not use this agency.

They booked me for a 16-hour shift and then cancelled it just 80 minutes before I was due to start. I had already organised my entire schedule around this, turned down other work, and even paid for parking in preparation.

When I raised a request for compensation—or at the very least reimbursement for my parking—they refused and instead tried to blame me, claiming I hadn’t answered my phone. This is simply not true. I have no missed calls, and the cancellation message I received clearly stated it was due to them overstaffing.

Unprofessional and dishonest. I would strongly advise others to avoid.

One of the worst hospitality companies ill ever work for got booked in for a shift at Preston football ground got all the way to Preston and had my shift cancelled for no reason if anyone is looking for hospitality work please do not apply for any work with this company

I had a very disappointing experience with this agency. I was booked for shifts for three days, and they cancelled on me at the last minute without any prior notice. I had already gotten to the place of assignment, plan my time, only to be told the shifts were no longer available.
I kept on calling their staffs. None of them was picking my calls.
What made it worse was the lack of professionalism and accountability. No one reached out to inform me in advance, and when I contacted them, they acted like this was a normal occurrence. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused.

I also had a very unpleasant interaction with a staff member named Ben, who was quite rude and dismissive. When I raised a valid concern about compensation for my wasted time, effort, and transport, he tried to turn it around and accuse me of being rude instead of addressing the issue properly.

Overall, very unprofessional service. I would not recommend this agency to anyone looking for reliable and respectful work opportunities.

Very unprofessional company. Got offered a job in Liverpool which was very far for me. They told everyone to park down a specific road which we did but the road was private. We told the company this when we arrived but they said it was fine, that they always park there. Came back after the work shift to find a ticket. Mint refused to pay it even though they told us to park there!! Utterly disgraceful staff. They cancel work on people last minute with no security or compensation. The wages aren't even that good especially for the travel distances. There are way better agencies like appetite4work and platinum

Such a rude and unprofessional agency, they provide no training whatsoever, no COSHH no food and safety training nothing. They expect you to know what you are doing magically. No idea why they haven't been legally sued yet. On top of thay, the staff is so rude and will cancel your shifts as latw as 30 min before the event. Horribly miserable people.

My experience with Mint People has been nothing but a joke. They gave me no training whatsoever, threw me straight into kiosk work, and expected me to magically know what I was doing. I told them I was inexperienced, yet the team leaders were rude, unprofessional, and refused to help, acting like they were above everyone else just watching over you without helping.

On top of that, they constantly cancel shifts, which is incredibly frustrating when you’re trying to plan your week. And the final straw? They cancelled one of my shifts on the same day, I was meant to work so I naturally thought it was the shift for that day. A reasonable mistake. Instead of explaining anything, they removed all my future shifts and sent me an abrupt, disrespectful message saying I wasn’t allowed to work with them anymore.

The whole place is disorganised, rude and completely unprofessional. Honestly, they’re pathetic. I wouldn’t recommend working for Mint People to anyone.
