I was put in touch with Blessed at Mortigo by some friends and I'm so glad I took their recommendation. As a first time buyer with a very small budget I often viewed properties which are harder to mortgage (deck access, ex-council, above shops etc) and had a lot of questions, but nothing seemed to phase Blessed! He made me feel so supported through the whole process of buying my first home and secured a great mortgage deal for me.

Could not recommend Blessed enough. He is fast, communicates regularly and was fantastic for a first-time buyer like me. Highly recommend!

My mortgage advisor was Blessed Akporotu and he was AMAZING. My started talking June 23rd and completed on my property on June 20th the following year! So it’s fair to say that the process of buying a house has had many many bumps in the road…. But, throughout, Blessed was quick to reply every time, arranged 3 different mortgages, with increasingly better rates each time. I’m a clueless first time buyer and Blessed was patient and kind and talked me through everything clearly (& probably more than once…). I think he was almost as pleased as me when we finally completed! I would while heartedly recommend him - in fact I already have. Thank you Blessed. My mortgage broker, Blessed, has been very detailed, customer-oriented, and an excellent listener throughout my mortgage application process. I tried getting an initial property, which didn't quite work out, but he kept me informed throughout the process and gave me detailed reasons why the lenders chose not to move forward with the mortgage. He tried with 3 separate lenders on the previous property. When I found a new property, Blessed worked swiftly to secure a mortgage, and we got an approval within a short time.

Blessed done a fantastic job for on our deal. He was thorough, attentive and personable throughout the entirety of our transaction. He responded to queries promptly and was always accessible within reasonable times.

I have used the same mortgage broker for the past ten years so I was hesitant to try someone new, however I needn’t have worried. Blessed has been amazing from start to finish. He got me a better deal than my previous mortgage broker saving me around £100 per month and his communication throughout the whole process (we had some hiccups from the mortgage provider along the way) has been spot on.

As a first-time buyer, finding a favourable mortgage option felt very daunting. My salary isn’t great, and I’m purchasing with my mum - whose approaching retirement age – which made it super difficult to find a bank that was willing to meet our desired budget.

After several attempts of contacting the banks directly, it felt like the numbers were decreasing and coming up with the funds to make an offer felt unrealistic. I contacted Mortigo and explained our situation to Blessed, who gave about 30 minutes of his time to consult on the matter. He built up our confidence and reassured us that that we would be eligible for a mortgage we wanted if we chose to proceed with their services. We agreed, and after sending the relevant documents, he secured us a selection of affordable agreements in principle within days.

At one point, we considered increasing our down-payment to decrease the interest rates. Blessed ran the numbers and advised that the extra spend would make a minimal difference to our monthly payments, and that the money may be better spent going towards moving and refurbishment costs.

Once he reviewed the property we wanted to purchase, he advised that we proceed with Halifax as the property is near a fast-food restaurant, and many banks would consider that a liability. After the offer had been accepted, he coordinated with Halifax and the estate agent to send a surveyor to the property and have it signed off.

The survey passed, the offer was sent, and we’re now well on our way to moving into our first home. I feel like there was a genuine care from Blessed, who wouldn’t accept payment until the offer had been received. Exceptional service, highly recommend.
