In an age where so much furniture feels transient, flimsy, and cynically manufactured, walking into Neptune in Bury St Edmunds is almost a relief. The craftsmanship is unapologetically solid. These are pieces built with conviction — properly weighted oak tables, cabinetry that closes with a reassuring, engineered softness, upholstery that feels structured and considered rather than overstuffed and temporary. You can see the joinery. You can feel the integrity in the frames. Nothing rattles, nothing wobbles, nothing feels like it was designed for a five-year lifespan. What makes the experience exceptional, however, is not only the product but the atmosphere. The store itself is warm without being overbearing, styled beautifully yet accessibly — inviting rather than intimidating. Received a fabulous service from Lucy Engwell at the Bury St Edmund’s store. She was brilliant, she listened carefully and her design ideas have been superb, both practical and inspiring. The whole experience from my first consultation to the development of the plan for my sitting room has been top rate.

For the first time ever I am writing a negative review regarding the attitude of your staff in the Bury St Edmund’s store…
It saddens me that on Tuesday 17th Feb I had my whole view of your staff shattered.
I live in Norfolk and always prefer the BSE store as a rule… the last time I was there I spent a lot of money off the back of that service plus purchased large items online… I was in the store for over 2 hours… I unfortunately received a car parking ticket because I had parked else where and lost track of time… staff told me I should have parked in the store car park, I said I didn’t because I was also popping to the dentist next door… I was told by the lovely staff in future please use the carpark as I was a valued customer and always go in store when I’m there.
I today decided to drive to the Bury Store and popped in to say I was popping my daughter into the dentist but I would be shopping in store as soon as we are finished… I wanted to tell them out of courtesy really but I was taken aback by the staff I spoke to… 2 ladies, (one blond the other shorter with darker hair) I hadn’t met either of these ladies before… they looked at me with a taste of distain as if I wasn’t worthy of even being in the store, I was friendly and polite and explained the whole situation but both ladies shot me a look and were particularly rude informing me that I’m not allowed to park in the carpark and even if I go into the store to shop they have a delivery due and I will be asked to move my car… I said that’s ok if I need to move my car I’ll be happy to as I will be in store shopping and my daughters check up was only for 10mins.
I wouldn’t normally bother to leave a negative message but after years of love for Neptune I’m saddened that because of your staff I won’t be returning to the BSE store … I did say as I left I would be ordering some larger items online, they were very quick to tell me to order via their store as it looks good for them, but out of sheer principle I will not be doing that neither will I shop in the BSE store again or continue to recommend them. I would like to point out that there was a younger lady who was busy watering the plants and she was very lovely, courteous and polite… the other 2 ladies however, should have known better!

Excellent on all aspects, very helpful members of staff and item ordered arrived a day earlier than expected, would recommend to everyone.

I’m a regular visitor at the Bury St Edmunds store. I wanted some assistance with an flower arrangement. Maddie was incredibly helpful, very patient and went that extra mile. Thank you Maddie x

Alfi & Josh delivered some pictures today…. Great guys, very friendly and provided a fab service. Called ahead of delivery as they wanted to check that we were happy to take our delivery earlier than stated which was very welcome.

We have had a kitchen and utility fitted from here and the quality of products is fantastic. We had an amazing kitchen designer (Rebekah) propose a layout we have not thought about and it was then implement superbly by the project management team (James) and fitter (Ben). Couldn’t recommended them enough!

We recently purchased a Suffolk 6ft Dresser from the Bury St Edmunds store and were very impressed with every aspect of the service from Neptune. We received excellent advice and support from Lucy and others in the store. The unit, which is superb quality, was delivered within 2 weeks and expertly assembled by the knowledgeable and friendly team of Alfi and Josh.

We've bought many an item from Neptune over the last 15 years. The quality of the products are excellent whether it be furniture, furnishings or replica flowers.
I go in with my 2 children who often run riot and the staff couldn't be more pleasant.

Always a pleasure going into Bury St Edmund’s Neptune, everyone is always super helpful & friendly. Especially Liz, lovely lady, super talented and so helpful. I love her beautiful floral creations.

We wanted advice on furniture, bed, fabrics, cushions and colours for our bedroom. When we arrived Liz approached us offering help, and spent the next hour or so showing us options and making great suggestions. We chose everything we wanted in a relaxed way.

I love the range in Neptune and can rarely visit without making a purchase
The staff are truly marvellous always and on my last visit Liz was particularly outstanding
