Flawless service

Extremely positive experience overall. Nicholson Lettings made moving feel easy and well managed. The flat was fully furnished, clean, and exactly as advertised. The Reposit alternative was a big plus financially, and the whole process was fast and straightforward. Kev & Callum were fantastic and our a credit to the team!

As an NHS professional working shifts, I really needed somewhere that was simple and stress-free to move into. Nicholson Lettings made that happen. The flat was fully furnished, so I could settle in straight away without worrying about buying essentials. The Reposit option also made a big difference financially, as it kept upfront costs much lower. Overall, a really smooth and efficient process.

As an English teacher

As an English teacher, my schedule can be quite busy, so I was looking for a rental process that was simple and straightforward. Nicholson Lettings made everything really easy from the start. The property was fully furnished, which meant I could move in without the stress of organising furniture or essentials. Honestly the worst renting experience


Honestly the worst renting experience of my life. This is the most unprofessional company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Upon our moving in day we discovered the company had let tenants from another property live in our rental for last couple of weeks, these tenants then refused to leave as they said their rental and no heating or water. The letting agency knew this before we arrived and didn’t inform us. This led to having to move our moving day back to the following day as the tenants had to remove their things and so money was lost on moving vans with no compensation. When getting the keys the house was disgusting and the letting agent admitted they hadn’t checked the property after the other tenants had moved out. They said they’d send a cleaning team at midday, once again delaying our move. The cleaning team didn’t do anything other than hoover and mop and so we spent the whole rest of the day cleaning the house top to bottom. There were also holes in the bathroom walls and mouse traps in the bathroom which took them 2 weeks to fill and remove.

Then about a month into our tenancy our washing machine broke and we reported it several times with no answer. Took them ten weeks to give us a new washing machine after having call and email several times a day as we didn’t get any response. At one point when calling the office my partner at the time was screamed at down the phone and told don’t f******g call here again and after that his number was blocked.

There was also a big mould issue in the house that we reported several times. When they eventually bothered to come and ‘fix’ the issue they decided to try and paint over it with gloss paint. When we stopped them and asked them to instead treat the mould and remove it the maintenance team said they’d send didn’t have the equipment and went home. Then we received several angry emails from Graham stating it was ‘mould paint’ when we sent a picture of what the maintenance team where actually using which is gloss paint he then completely lost it and started to accuse my then partner of abusing me which was just wholly untrue.

There where also two instances of maintenance men letting themselves into our house unannounced with their own keys we where never told they had. When confronted about this Graham said he didn’t give them keys and so we asked them how do they have the keys? And do you not know who has keys to our house? He couldn’t provide an answer and then admitted that the maintenance team do have keys.

The cherry on top was when our fire alarms wouldn’t stop going off. Once again they were no help so we called the non emergent fire number and they suggested they come down immediately. The fire brigade then where outraged when they informed us we didn’t have a carbon monoxide alarm and our boiler hadn’t been serviced in over 10 years.

This is when we reported them to the council and all of a sudden they had all the time in the world to come over and fix things in the house. The council told us they are aware of this company and had 12 other reports from other tenants in the last 18 months.

The new renting act in May is being implemented because of people like this. Money hungry and aggressive. Avoid at all costs. Traumatic experience to say the least.

As I’ve seen on their other negative views they’ll probably say it’s a fake review. What I would suggest is to put more energy into improving your business and treating people with respect than arguing with genuine reviews on trust pilot.

Less than 24 hours and referencing and contract was signed! Everyone was really helpful in making the process as simple and smooth as possible. The director Paul was great and answered any questions promptly. Would highly recommend, great service. Thanks guys ☺

I really appreciate how approachable Nicholson Lettings are. They carry out inspections professionally and keep landlords and tenants fully informed. They’re easy to talk to and always willing to help—exactly what you want from a letting agency.

Extremely Poor Service and Neglectful Management

I’m leaving this review based on my personal experience as a current tenant.

From the moment I moved in, my flat had no electricity, and I received no support from the letting agency to resolve the issue. Communication has been unprofessional, including being contacted outside of business hours.

I have a leak in my property that has gone unresolved for over 7 weeks, and some of my neighbours have been dealing with similar issues for over 6 months. Maintenance requests are rarely addressed properly.

The agency claims that negative reviews about their service are fake, but in my experience, they are genuine, as I have experienced the same poor treatment.

Based on my experience so far, I would strongly advise tenants to avoid this letting agency, as there are other agencies in Liverpool that are far more professional.

Update:
After I posted this review, the agency contacted me directly. Despite me clearly stating multiple times that I preferred to communicate by email, they continued to insist on speaking to me in person to “refute” my comments. I found this interaction uncomfortable and felt pressured to engage in a way I had already declined. This reinforced my concerns about the agency’s overall professionalism and communication style.

My Response:
I am disappointed to read this reply, as it does not reflect the reality of my experience as a current tenant.

To clarify:
• I have never been rude, aggressive, or disrespectful to any staff member. All my communication has been limited to raising concerns about ongoing damp, mould, and repairs that have remained unresolved for weeks.
• At no point did I “demand” internal decoration before roof repairs. I only asked for basic clarification on the order of works because the property has been affected by damp since I moved in.
• The suggestion that I refused multiple visits is also untrue. I have always made the property available for repairs when I was given reasonable notice and clear information.
• The issues raised in my original review remain unresolved, and the conditions in the property continue to affect my day-to-day living.

I am sharing my experience as truthfully and calmly as possible, and I stand by my original review. I would welcome respectful, transparent communication going forward, as well as timely action to address the outstanding issues with the property.

This is factually incorrect as you are aware.

The repair was done by an outside contractor very quickly, especially given the current weather conditions. You demanded internal decoration to occur prior to roof repairs which is unreasonably and certainly not something anyone would entertain. You have been untruthful, rude and aggressive to team members who aired concerns about attending your property. We have also tried to attend the property which you have rejected on several occasions.

AMAZING COMPANY

I was reluctant to reserve a property I never saw in person, but they provide that much information, pictures and videos it was like I was in the flat from my phone.

Been here a month now and their staff know their stuff. Nothing is too much trouble.
