I ordered a wig a year ago, the hair kept matting was frazzled and snapping like crazy was gutted cause the amount of money I spent, they agreed for me to send back which I then had to go get a hair replacement system fitted as I didn’t have a back up without my wig till this mess was fixed. So eventually they said there sending me a new wig which they did I had my hair replacement taking out a few months ago and thought il go back to my new wig to wear and within days again matting at the back and the hair again frazzling and snapping!! Absolutely devastated people with hair loss are dealing with enough without dealing with these kinds of problems!! This wig is supposed to make me feel better about myself and all it’s done since I first ordered is make me feel worse. Never ever order from this company believe me people!!

My fave wigs

My fave wig company! Tried so many wigs now and always go back to Nuola as nothing beats their wigs. Made so beautifully well and the colours are on point. The customer service is great too, very responsive and helpful. Much quicker turnaround time also. Don’t have to wait that long to receive a customised wig compared to other companies. Just about to order my 5th wig and I can’t wait to receive it!

Detailed Review: Ciara Wig by Nuola

I’ve been following Nuola Wigs for a long time and always wanted to purchase one of their wigs. I waited for a special occasion, and since I’m getting married in October, I finally decided to order the Ciara wig.

Before placing my order, I had a short consultation with them and exchanged many emails to make sure I was getting the right wig. They even sent me extra pictures of the Ciara, and it looked exactly like what I wanted.

When the wig arrived, I had mixed feelings. Let me start with the positives: I have a very small head, so I ordered an XS cap. I was worried it would still be too big, but it fits perfectly. The cap itself is really well made. The length is good as well. The hair looks nice at first glance, although I haven’t washed it yet, so I’ll leave another review once I see how it behaves after washing.

Now to the disappointments: The Ciara wig I received has visible layers, even though I specifically checked with them before shipping and was told Ciara does not have layers. On their official videos and photos, the Ciara wig also appears straight and without layering, and it also looks fuller at the bottom than the one I received, which makes this even more confusing.

The color also doesn’t match what was shown on your official photos and videos. The Ciara wig there has a softer, lighter chocolate-brown root that gradually blends into warm, golden tones toward the ends. The wig I received, however, has a much darker root, and instead of a smooth golden balayage it looks more like cool-toned streaks. The highlights appear almost white or ashy, which gives the overall look a more neutral, cooler tone rather than the warm, soft blonde I was expecting.

From what I understand, Nuola takes blonde wigs and custom-colors them before shipping. That means their main responsibility is to get the color right – but unfortunately, in my case, they didn’t. Considering this wig is one of the pricier options on their website, I really didn’t expect such a mistake, especially since I ordered it for my wedding.

To be fair, the wig doesn’t look bad – it’s just not what I ordered.

UPDATE:

I was given the option to return this wig and receive a new one, but by now I’ve completely lost trust. There is no guarantee that the replacement would have the right color, and I’m terrified it wouldn’t even arrive before my wedding.

I can’t explain how hurt I feel – I cry every time I look at this wig, because all I can think about is that I paid nearly $2000 and ended up with something I never wanted. Before ordering, I had a consultation with them, I checked everything, I asked so many questions over email to make sure it would be right. They knew it was for my wedding, and still it was delivered wrong.

They call themselves hair specialists, but I honestly don’t understand how such a mistake could happen. Instead of making me feel beautiful and confident, they have only added more insecurity on top of everything else I already struggle with.

Now I need to pay also hair colorist to fix it, but only white parta could be fixed, the dark parts are too dark for any coloring.

If anyone would ever like to see photos of what I received compared to what was advertised, I’d be more than happy to share them.

It’s also important to note that, before shipping your wig, we sent you photos as you requested to confirm you were happy with it. Your response at the time was, “the wig looks beautiful.”

We also noticed your message reached us just before the bank holiday weekend, which meant we weren’t able to respond to you till the next working day. Had we had the chance, we would have offered you the option to send the wig back for an exchange so we could adjust the color to better match your request. If you decide to keep and wear the wig for your wedding day, we completely understand and please rest assured that you’ll still be covered under our 6-month warranty. You are welcome to send the wig back to us after your wedding, and we will be happy to adjust the color for you.

Just to clarify for future customers: the Ciara wig does include layers, which is visible on the product page photos , particularly the mannequin image where the layers fall around the collarbone, as well as on the model shots. More importantly, the product description clearly states: “Body Wave Style With Face Frame Layers.” The Ciara has always been styled in body waves, and none of the images on our website or social media show it as a straight style.

We are sorry to hear that our proposed solutions have not met your expectations. As you know, we have offered both an exchange and a refund. It seems the main concern is that we were unable to agree to your suggested resolution, which was to wear the wig for your wedding and then return it afterwards for a replacement.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept this as a resolution. For hygiene reasons, it is not possible for us to take back a worn wig and resell it to other clients.

That said, we remain committed to finding a solution for you. You are very welcome to return the wig so we can adjust the colour to your preference, or, if you prefer, you can return it before your wedding for a quick exchange. We even guaranteed to send out the replacement within two weeks of receiving your return, which would still be more than three weeks before your wedding date.

We understand this is an important occasion and want to do our best to support you, but we kindly ask that any resolution takes into account the hygiene and quality standards we must uphold for all customers.

Don't Buy

I purchased a wig from Nuolawigs and at first all seemed well with Fadzai and others responding to queries in a very timely manner. After purchase, I was sent a wig with roots that were over-bleeched so looked like I had dandruff when worn. Sent pictures and they agreed to replace wig after I sent the wig back to them, which I did promptly many months ago and after initially agreeing to send out another wig, to date they have not sent a replacement wig or refunded my $1700+ I paid in early April. I have sent many emails chasing this up and after initially saying they would get back to me, they have now ghosted me and are not replying back to any of my messages for a refund. Absolutely terrible customer service and fraudulent behaviour. 0/5 stars

To be clear the most recent email chasing up a resolution was 9 days before your response, but the ones I sent before were also ignored so overall I was waiting more than 9days. Can you also let me know why the order wasn’t fully refunded and you withheld $120 when the initial product you sent out was faulty?

I lost my hair due to my battle with cancer and when I receive my wig I was so happy I cried, it was the first time in months I actually felt like myself. I made a few custom requests to my wig which were followed to a T. I have recommended to a couple other friends and they have ordered as well!

I suffer from alopecia and I’m very happy with your wigs. They feel and look reel and have given me my self confidence back. I have bought 2 wigs now and is about to order my 3.

Had a consultation and got exactly what I wanted. They offered me an express service as I needed my wig asap and it was delivered on time and they styled the hair and cut the lace for me, the wig has changed my life, I’m so thankful to Nuolawigs. I couldn’t be happier. Great service, amazing hair. Will definitely be ordering more soon

First time wig purchase


I really don’t like to write negative reviews!
3 stars because I was initially extremely happy with my wig and because they tried to resolve it but I just can’t send my wig back without a replacement.
I lost all my hair very quickly last year due to alopecia universalis. I anticipated losing all of my hair so I had ordered in advance.
When my wig arrived it was beautiful and thick.
Fast forward to roughly 6 months later, I was having terrible issues with the back of the wig matting and constantly sticking out from my head.
I did contact them and they kindly offered for me to send it back even though it was past the 6 month warranty.
Sadly I cannot send it back as I don’t have another wig yet.
I only wear my wig to work 3 days a week at home I don’t wear it.
I’ve been very careful withy wig, I’m a hairstylist and try my best to look after my wig Because it was such an expensive purchase but a very necessary purchase.
I’m so disappointed with the shedding in the back and from what Ive researched it shouldn’t shed this much so soon.
The back is really balding and it gives me severe anxiety because I already lost all of my hair now I’m worried my wig is losing hair.

Again they did offer for me to send it back but it’s just not possible for me to do that.
So I’m pretty upset and hoping to find a less expensive wig here in the US.

What should have been a supportive, compassionate experience turned into one of the most emotionally draining and stressful situations I've ever faced as a customer. When you're already dealing with the vulnerability of medical hair loss, the last thing you need is to be dismissed, gaslit, and left fighting for basic accountability.

I received a product that was far from what was promised—wrong specifications, poor quality—and when I raised concerns, I was met with cold, evasive communication, delays, and a total lack of empathy. They were far more interested in protecting their image and funds than doing right by a medically vulnerable customer.

This process has been taxing not just financially, but mentally and emotionally. No one should have to go through this, least of all those already dealing with the complexities of medical conditions.

If you paid through PayPal and they don’t side with you, know that you can still contact your bank and file a chargeback — and you should also report the situation to the European Consumer Centre, Action Fraud UK, and similar regulatory bodies.

There are other companies out there that treat their clients with dignity and compassion. Please protect your peace and look elsewhere.

EDIT: Your response is a textbook example of gaslighting — evasive, patronizing, and strategically dishonest.

Citing platform guidelines to silence a follow-up review is disingenuous. Trustpilot allows updates when situations develop — and this has clearly escalated, from a PayPal ruling to legal action and your refusal to resolve the matter with integrity.

You weaponize the fact that I’m a returning customer, as if prior purchases should disqualify my right to complain. That logic is absurd. If anything, the betrayal hits harder when it comes from a business I once trusted. Your claim that I never raised concerns about previous wigs is a flat-out lie. I have the emails to prove it. Pretending otherwise is not only dishonest — it’s insulting.

You say you “did your best to accommodate me.” No, you didn’t. You refused a refund, denied any fault, offered a half-hearted exchange only after I escalated — and even then, wouldn’t cover return shipping or take proper accountability. You hid behind policy while I dealt with a faulty product and the emotional fallout. This wasn’t an inconvenience — it was an ordeal that sent me to the doctor due to stress-related symptoms. To call it “frustrating” is a gross and offensive understatement.

The wig I received was not what I expected based on my previous order and the sudden €700 price hike. Lace frontals are cheaper and easier to produce — so why the dramatic increase without explanation or improvement? The answer is obvious, and it’s not flattering to your business. You misrepresented the product, then gaslit me into thinking I misunderstood. Besides, the wig arrived visibly stripped, uneven, and splotchy in color — a clear failure of quality control that has nothing to do with the lace frontal structure, and everything to do with the poor condition in which the unit was delivered. Instead of taking accountability, you continue to deflect by focusing on technicalities, while ignoring the actual issue: you sent out a subpar, visibly flawed product! Unacceptable for a 2000€ price-point.

As for your return policy — stating it clearly doesn’t make it ethical. Cutting lace is a standard prep step, not a customization. Many reputable sellers allow returns regardless. You exploit this detail as a technicality to avoid accountability. That’s not policy — that’s a trap.

And let’s not pretend your request to close the PayPal case was to “expedite” an exchange. You said in your own words it negatively affects your account and comes with fees. This wasn’t about helping me — it was about protecting your profit margin. Period.

Finally, you claim you're still “open” to resolution — but that’s another lie. I offered a fair, structured proposal. You rejected it, then told me to wait for responses from regulatory bodies that can take weeks or months. That’s not openness — it’s avoidance.

You talk about a 'fair and accurate representation of events' — and that’s exactly what this is. The only difference is I’m telling the truth, while you’re scrambling to rewrite it. Every word I’ve shared is backed by receipts — and the fallout you’re now facing is nothing more than the cost of your own dishonesty and disregard.

We understand your frustration regarding the timeline and concerns about the quality of your wig. While we do our best to fulfill orders accurately and promptly, unforeseen delays can sometimes occur, and we sincerely apologize if this caused any inconvenience.

It’s important to note that this is your third purchase with us, which shows that you previously trusted our brand and product quality enough to return. If your first wig lasted only three months, it is unlikely that you would have chosen to purchase a second and then a third unit from us. I have reviewed our emails and even with the third purchase, there was no mention at all about the quality of your previous wigs. However, we completely acknowledge your concerns and take your feedback seriously.

You stated that we sent you the wrong item, but this is not true. The product description on our website clearly states that the unit you ordered is a lace frontal wig, not a full lace wig. It is the buyer’s responsibility to review the product details before making a purchase.

As for the PayPal dispute, we completely respect your right to raise concerns through PayPal. However, as part of PayPal’s policies, a resolution typically requires the return of the original item before a replacement or refund can be processed. Our request to close the case was simply to expedite the exchange process, as PayPal restricts actions on our end while a case remains open. That said, we fully understand your decision to keep it open until your concerns are resolved.

Our return policy is not a trap. It is clearly stated on our website. When you request for the lace to be cut, you are opting for a customization, and as a result, customized wigs are non-refundable. Many of our clients understand this policy and choose to keep the lace uncut in case they wish to return the wig for a refund.

Regarding communication, we responded to your initial inquiry within a few hours on the same day. We remained available to assist you, answer your questions, and ensure your concerns were addressed. At no point were we dismissive. In fact, I personally took over your case to offer a resolution as quickly as possible. From the start, we assured you that our head wig stylist would remake the unit for you, and we offered an exchange immediately. However, your review falsely suggests that we did not try to help you and that in your own words "we were dismissive".

We understand that this situation has been frustrating for you, and we have done our best to accommodate you. However, it is important to provide an accurate and fair representation of events.

We regret that you no longer feel comfortable purchasing from us, but we truly wish you the best and appreciate your past support. If there’s anything we can do to improve your experience, we are still open to resolving this matter in a fair and satisfactory way.

Recommend a Nuolawig for Teenage Dancer

Having a young teenage daughter lose all of her hair and diagnosed with Alopecia was devastating to her, especially as a competitive dancer. In researching wigs, Nuolawigs always came up however we live across the ‘Pond’ so we were uncertain of sizing. We were beyond ecstatic to see Nuolawigs was having a Popup in Toronto, Canada in August 2024, where my daughter found a beautiful, full lace wig that she fell in love with! She says it is so lightweight and she doesn’t find she gets so warm with the full lace. The Nuolawigs staff in attendance were fabulous and were able to guide us and take her measurements for her file for future orders.
Thank you Nuolawigs for a fantastic experience and wig that my daughter can hold her head high to do all of her competition hairstyles with and no one knows it is a wig! ❀❀❀

Can’t recommend enough !! I have been wearing wigs for the past 8 years and nuola is by far the most natural. The quality and the colour of amazing!! from having alopecia and wearing wigs everyday i can say nuola is a brand to buy from ! i have had 2 nuola wigs and both have lasted a very long time , the lace is so unreal and the overall quality of the hair is the best out there. there customer service team are always so happy to help and are quick to respond. my trust is with there brand.

My trust is 100% in Nuola Wigs.

I’ve wearing the best of quality and most expensive wigs since I was 13 years old, I’ve had alopecia since I was a baby. No hair at all but three years ago I came across Nuola Wigs while installing a flower display and decided to try this company out and for the price and quality I cannot recommend enough! I wear a one wig daily for a whole year and annually reorder. I can only thank you so much.
