Don't ship with Pack and Send unless you are happy for your precious items to be smashed to pieces...

On the 24th of Feb I went to Pack and Send in Preston to arrange shipping of an Artwork within Australia. When I arrived the manager of the store Karim asked me if I wanted insurance and I said, “yes, of course”. He assured me the work would arrive safely, and I spent a lot of time there ensuring the work was well packed. The salesclerk helped me pack the work however I had to use my own bubble wrap as the store said they “didn’t have enough despite me seeing two huge rolls of bubble wrap out the back. I packed the box with the Clerk partly because I also had other things to do that day and I had already been there for over 2 hours. I was also assured he was an expert at this and asked for feedback on the packing a few times. The 3 staff members assured me it was well packed and would arrive intact.

I was originally quoted almost $300 to send a single box and when I expressed that this was a lot Karim offered me a discounted rate. At no stage in the interaction did he inform me that the new rate did not include insurance. I was not informed that Insurance also meant warranty or that I would need to explicitly state the value of the work in order to obtain the insurance.

Unfortunately, the work arrived at the gallery very badly damaged. The Gallery manager stated it looked like the box had been dropped or hit very hard as the glass case was smashed in several pieces and the ceramic piece was cracked down to the sturdy base.

I was very disappointed that Pack and Send would not take any responsibility for the damage of my piece or even give me a refund for the service that they were unable to provide. I was also concerned that handling the broken glass would put the gallery staff at risk. I had to arrange for a replacement work to be delivered by my own time and expense. Unfortunately Pack and Send stopped responding to my calls or efforts to contact them to follow up. I am hoping other people don't have the same awful experience.

Update 27.3.2026 despite lodging a formal complaint with Pack and Send still no reply from them.

awful. they forgot my order i had to call them 4 times to get it collected. save yourself and shop elsewhere

Thank you for your feedback. It looks like this review has been left against the wrong store, as your booking was placed through our Online Self-Service system rather than this service centre. With Online Self-Service, collections are arranged directly with our third-party courier partners, and delays can occasionally occur. We understand how frustrating this must have been and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

Awful in every regard

Wasn't picked up on time. Had to call them multiple times to arrange a pickup. Customer service rude. Depot attendant rude. Depot was shut an hour early the day I went to drop off, had time come back another day. Atrocious service. Just spend the $5 extra and use TNT.

I will NEVER ship with Pack and Send…

I will NEVER ship with Pack and Send again, had some high value cameras packed and sent from the Preston store. The packaging was not sufficient and caused damage of over $500 and sure enough, Pack and Send wipe their hands of it. Unbelievable despite paying several hundred dollars to get the equipment from Vic to Qld. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Wedding dress drama avoided.

Good day all,just a quick one for future customers thinking of using these services of Pack and Send Preston .Our experience started off on a bitter sweet note at the technical error of our package. But Syed went out of his way to track my parcel which was my wedding dress, which was urgently needed.I salute him and take my hat off to him as although his shift for the day was over,he still went the extra mile and left his depot to go to the airport to retrieve the package.Respect to him.God bless and our wedding was spectacular.

Whole process was great and easy

Whole process was great and easy AND IT IS FAST! I was expecting my shipment to take at least 8 business days but it ended up reaching in just 5 days. But the signing process could have been better, such as calling either the sender or the receiver if ringing up the apartment does not work.

Totally reliable

Ever reliable, great pricing and very helpful. I couldn't run my business selling precious vintage items to customers all over the world without Sam's support. Brilliant! Highly recommended.

Recently had a review from a customer in New York saying they couldn't believe how fast the parcel reached them from Melbourne. Using Pack and Send and having a cooperative relationship with Sam gives me a real service advantage.
