**This was through Printninja's domestic printing service for a 5.5 x 8.5 perfect bound, full color booklet.**
I chose Printninja because they offered sub 50 MOQs at a price that even beat out a certain-competitor-that-starts-with-M's pricing on books at this specific size.
Their customer service is miles better than M's. First off, you send in a file and a REAL LIFE HUMAN (ours was Jen, who was great) will look over it and send you the proof and personal feedback. My initial file did not include bleed and Jen was able to add a pseudo bleed herself to fix the issue. We ended up fixing the bleed issue on our end but just having someone willing to try their best to fix it on theirs was amazing. She was incredibly paitent because we went back and forth like 5 times before I approved of the proof. Does M do this? No! They just have an automated proof and expect you to find errors and fix them.
When I got the books, they were gorgeous, matched the proof, and well made as expected. However, there was a wrinkle in all the tops of the books that they told me was an issue with their gluing placement that they will fix. It was a minor issue and I was satisfied with a 10% overrun on my next purchase, but it does bring into question of their quality checking.
From a pure price perspective M is cheaper than here if you have a book that's larger than 5.5 x 8.5 (in our case it was A5, which was technically larger because the width was 5.8, even if the surface area was the same). Even if they say you can request a quote adjustment if your book is smaller than the next size bracket it will still be a lot more than the smaller size option.
What I'd like to see is Printninja offering art prints and bookmarks (if you do already, sorry, but I didn't see it on the site) like M since they already have the material and equipment to do so. Especially if they offered multiple design splitting like Catprint. For the projects I do, mini prints and bookmarks are addons with the book so adding these would be an all in one shop for me.
Overall, I liked Printninja's quality and service and will order from there again.

I printed two short-run booklets (250 quantity) with PrintNinja - they were the best priced place I could find that print in the USA and after getting the sample book I picked my paper types, got my quotes and placed the order all very easily. I contacted customer service to see if they could combine shipping, and that was no problem. The booklets all arrived on time, look great and I'm very happy with the quality. Will definitely use again.

Easy to ask questions and make changes
I ordered three of the same trim sized postcards along with a book. Two of the postcards were one size and one was slightly off by a .25 inch. So if the two were digest the other was a 1/4 in shorter and a 1/4 wider for some reason. Only made things a little close when fitting them in my packaging. Worked out okay.
The book came out as ordered although since I couldn’t get a print proof I was unable to know in advance what the paper would feel like but it was good.

This is my first time printing a comic--and anything professional like this, period. I had an overall good experience with PrintNinja and would recommend them. Their prices are reasonable, and their team is very compassionate and kind to work with (overall fantastic customer service). I primarily worked with Laura and Jen, who were so sweet, especially when I kept going back and forth with the prices and uploading the PDF. As for response rate, they will respond ~once every day (unless you are in a back-and-forth immediate conversation). Their website and confirmation emails offer all the information needed to print your comic properly, albeit, especially as someone new to this world of comic printing, the info was sometimes too much at once or a tad confusing to find. But again--all the info you need is there! The print results were overall (with one exception) very good. The paper quality was excellent and not bent, etc. Because of all of this, and because I am now familiar with the company, I would print with PrintNinja again if I ever were to create another comic.
The one exception I have is that there were small yellow streaks or splotches on many (possibly a majority) of my comic covers. A few of my copies came with a mix of these to the point those few covers would be embarrassing to share with others (and this was after complaining about similar streaks in my first ordered batch of comics--I ordered two batches, a test batch of 10 and a final batch of 50+).
However, I need to add that, when I complained about splotches on my first batch, they kindly gave me 5 extra copies in the second batch (I got 5 free copies!). So again, they have fantastic customer service and desire to make their customers happy. There was just some carelessness in the cover-printing parts of both printing processes.
As I said above, I would definitely print with them again. But next time I may be more open to buying extra comic copies than I plan to sell, just in case.
**EDIT: I worked with Laura to get a refund for some of the blotched copies, and they were very generous about it. She also explained why the marks were there in the first place. Very thankful for PrintNinja's team. They are adamant about making and keeping happy customers. Definitely recommend them.
Also, the ink blotches had to do with the paper and finish I chose (an issue that, in the future, seems less likely to be replicated because PrintNinja is more aware of it now).

Wonderful in every way!
This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. I designed and ordered 500 custom card decks (zzdeck.com). At the beginning, Sam spent a lot of time with me helping me understand how to format the PDF file because my card deck was a little bit different from their usual order (all of the fronts and backs were custom-designed by me). Then, during the ordering and shipment, Simon was wonderful, and guess what--it looked like Trump's tariffs of 145% were going to kick in just before my 500 decks were about to ship. We were able to figure out a way to make it work, thanks to Simon!

It was not clear that my printing was going to be shipped overseas until AFTER I had paid for my order. Then I got the notification that my job was at their factory in China!
My proof was completely wrong! It was supposed to be double sided and folded and I got a generic print, single sided, not folded, and it was on the wrong paper. I believe that if they were printing in house, this mistake wouldn't have happened. This mistake cost me 2 months!
The folks at the shop in Evanston didn't care and it was not a big deal to them. The delay wasn't addressed at any point.
