Radio Taxis Southampton 

Booked this taxi whilst on the red jet high speed ferry from Cowes. I told them the time of arrival. I also told them that train departure time. The driver turned up early. He rang me and I said we were almost in dock. I reiterated the time of the train as I was travelling as a disabled person with my mum. He acknowledged this and said that’s fine. Got off the ferry and he was nowhere to be seen. Lots of cars came and went but not him. I had the painstaking task of going through their automated system again to eventually be told he left as we weren’t there and he would get a ticket if he stayed any longer? I told the lady on the phone that we had actually arrived on time. Apparently he had turned up 10 mins early and had a 10 min drop off before being ticketed? So why didn’t they replace him. Why didn’t he ring the office rather than just leave us abandoned. She sent another taxi which she said was 5 mins away, this turned up 12 minutes later hence to say we missed our train and connections and had to pay more to amend our ticket as it was for that particular train only. 😩 I phoned them and put in a complaint to which they said the office wasn’t open until Monday and they took my number. Needless to say they didn’t call. Left stressed, out of pocket and exhausted before the hours had even begun. They never even apologised. Never again will I use this firm. West Quay Cars used to be fabulous since the merge with Radio Cars it’s gone down hill faster than Eddy the Eagle on a ski jump 👎

A great service from pick up to drop off. Excellent communication throughout the process and well managed. Would highly recommend. We needed a taxi to get to and from the cruise terminal and Radio Taxis were on time and the text and tracking was excellent.

Ridiculous price increase compared to not even a year ago, terrible service and having no card payment available was shocking. felt uncomfortable and uneasy the entire time. Just use Uber and save the money.

I called this firm for a taxi to Cruise port in Southamton in a day time from the Polygon. The distance was 1.8miles. When I called there was automated service only and no price was given. Driver arrived in time. There was no meter to check the cost. When the driver dropped us he asked us to pay £20. We have been making this journey every year when we go on cruise. It is normally between £5 to £6. Because of inflation we anticipated slightly higher charge this time. However £20 was very high. When we argued, the driver showed us amount in his phone and said the charge was £16.70 as per the meter. We had to pay it. On our return for the same journey another taxi firm charged us £8 sane traffic and journey time. I would not trust this firm ever again!

Extremely poor service - booked via the app but no one turned up. Phoned to see where they were only to be told by an automated system that they were still trying to find a driver. Very unreliable - will stick to Uber next time!

Never use them again was pre ordered to and from cruise terminal from airport . Told to ring 20 mins before needing transfer. Both ways waited over an hour and several calls later eventually got the transfer. Got a message when we got home stating the taxi arrival and car reg etc so obviously couldn’t organise a simple pre booked system.

Driver 97 drove well. Arrived quickly for an "on the spot" booking, and was helpful and interesting.

I booked a taxi but it didn't arrive at the specified time and I had to reach my destination in a different way, so they exposed me to large additional parking costs for the whole day and a lot of stress. the taxi was booked for 4.30, 8 minutes later I received information on my mobile phone that the driver would be there in 2 minutes. I canceled this order because I was already on my way in a private car, I couldn't miss the bus because it's a long journey for a very important matter. I booked a taxi the day before to avoid delays and such a situation should not have happened, but it turns out that you cannot rely on this taxi service. They should refund me the cost of parking for the whole day in the city center. It's second time I need to get somewhere important on time and taxi is so late. never again radio taxi for me and I will not recommend to anyone

Totally gone down hill since merger with West Quay, Book an Uber instead, radio taxis used to be so reliable and a great company. So sad when something turn so bad so quickly. Yes Uber may not be reliable but neither are Radio Taxis, so get the cheaper fare and book 30 minutes early. Crap new app and a crap new level of service.

Awful. Pre booked for airport collection hours in advance. Then informed no driver available. Why take the booking if you can't deliver in it

Can't drive, always near on accidents with these, nightmare, avoid!

I have long Covid and have not been out for a long time I purchased a folding mobility scooter to assist me to get around. The taxi driver that collected me was outstanding and sympathetic, he carefully and respectfully put my folded scooter in the car boot and assisted me to the front seat ,on arrival at my destination address. the driver kindly help me out of the car got my mobility scooter out of the boot and respectfully and patiently waited in till I was comfortably and safely seated on my scooter. I cannot speak highly enough of the driver and the service I was provided due to this. I now have confidence in contacting radio taxis to help me get out and about.I am most grateful to the taxi firm

Awful service yet again! Booked with Radio Taxis several times per week and once again I have been let down. Booked in advance for 8:15am taxi to take my children to school. They will not arrive at school until about 9:25am (very very late) absolutely not their fault, due to no taxis being available. Such a poor service, no scheduling updates via the app so you have to call them!

Absolutely discusting have someone working for them that is abusing there work role blocked my number when I use them often because they themself have an issue with me Ruben costa has nothing but rude attitude off the ceo / manager Simon may

Awful service booked a taxi 24 hours in advance for 18.30 it’s now 18.55 and still not arrived

Rang and asked what was happening and they don’t even apologise just said we haven’t got any taxi and are really busy

Shocking customer service
I booked a taxi on the 12.08.23 at 3.15 the taxi driver phoned me at 3:08 to tell me that he was outside. I then told the taxi driver that I would be a couple of minutes late as I was driving to the pick up point and was vey close, to which he replied okay! I arrived at the pickup point at 3.17 and spoke to the driver to say I am here and I was parking park my car a couple or car behind him. As I started to park my car I saw the taxis drive off!! I then spoke to customer services and the complaints team regarding this matter and the service I have received is disgusting! they’ve repeatedly told me that a driver has the right to drive away after five minutes prior to the pick up time. I have repeatedly told them that I had found them and spoke to somebody at 3:20 if I was getting a taxi at 3:15. Why would I be phoning to complain at 3:20 and saying that I’d spoken to the taxi before 3:20 to say that he had already driven off. Since making this complaint, I have received a couple of calls from the radio taxis complaints department stating that they have spoken to the driver. They have not acknowledge anything that I have said about my experience regarding times of when I called, that I have logged all the calls from 3.09 to 3.26, that I HAD spoken to the driver at 3.17 which IS in the allotted time before they can drive away! I asked the complaints team if I could have a hard copy of the companies policies and the teachers regarding this five minute drive away time to which I was told that I was not allowed to get that information. I then received an email from the executive complaint officer and he in the email. He stated times and what was said again left out one fundamental point that I had spoken to the driver in the allotted time. I was then told by this executive that because the taxi drivers are self-employed when people are late, it causes them to lose money and petrol to which I replied a taxi driver should not be sat outside from 3.09 to 3.17 with the engine running!!! I then was told that they would check the CCTV camera in the car to see if I had actually spoken to the driver. Surely they should’ve been done in the initial initial investigation regarding my complaint. At the end of the call, the chief executive then told me that it might be easier for me to request the CT CCTV footage from the taxi!!! I’m hearing this I realise the radio taxis complaint department haven’t have disregarded anything that I have. I said disregarded my complaint and have shocking CUSTOMER SERVICE procedures!

We ordered many Taxis from our Hotel to Hospital and back to Hotel. The service was very quick and I received a message to let me no the car make and colour.
The Taxi drivers very nice and helpful.

Third time lucky, or so we thought.....
I ordered a taxi at 14:20 for asap on the phone as the app was not working correctly. I was told there was a 15 minute wait. A car arrived, but then swiftly drove off.
When we called again, they said we had booked it for 4pm.
This is the 3rd time that I have tried to use this company to get colleagues to the train station. Its seriously embarrassing for us as a company when our corporate guests are just left waiting.

New rule … can’t pre book your taxi!!! What a joke. You have to book just before you want the taxi and hope that one turns up. So cannot guarantee they will get me to work on time. Since when can you not pre book taxis???? That’s the whole point of them surely

Absolutely fantastic service, I've used them three times and have never been let down.

The drivers have all been super friendly and caring.

I really like this company. Will be using again.
