Through Responsible Travel, which provided a quick and easy to use service, we found a fantastic tour of Tasmania with Tasmanian Odyssy which took us to many out of the way and interesting places and gave us the opportunity to see lots of wildlife. All of the places that we stayed were run by locals who provided a fantastic and friendly service at some really lovely locations. We had a truly wonderful holiday.

We contacted Responsible Travel to plan a trip to Patagonia. They suggested Travel Differently who took care of all the trip details and booked us wonderful hotels and trips using local guides etc. Everything was planned to the last detail and the local support was also excellent. Both Responsible Travel and Travel Differently are highly recommended!

My family and I booked a winter adventure in Slovakia. I had never heard of Responsible Travel and was a bit nervous booking initially. I can safely say they are a very professional company with a great team. I would have no problem with recommending or booking with them again in the future.

A great volunteering experience. We saw all sorts of wild animals, some very close to. We prepared food and fed many of them and helped clean enclosures and waterholes. The social interaction with all ages is friendly, as you are all there for similar reasons and have a common interest. The food was good and the accommodation clean s as nd comfortable. A tremendous way to get close to many wild animals one normally only sees in wildlife films.

Very responsive and really good at listening to what your priorities are when travelling.

As a treat for my 50th birthday, I went to the Galapagos Islands and the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest, all arranged by Travel Differently - a partner firm of Responsible Travel.

It was all satisfactory, but there are some things that I would have liked to have known before I arrived. It would have been helpful to know that snorkelling was such a big factor of the six night cruise. Although I do not like snorkelling at all, I would have taken my own wetsuit and goggles for swimming had I known that so much time would be devoted to that activity. I may even have reconsidered that portion of the trip, because I don't really like swimming either, and it never occurred to me that snorkelling would be part of the itinerary. Also, I was aware that Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were included on many of the days, but I did not think the meals would be so extensive. I am happy with breakfast and some good coffee, and light snacks for the other meals, but this trip included three course evening meals served at a late hour, which I am not used to. The cuisine was prepared by highly skilled chefs, and tasted amazing, but that is not something I look for in a holiday. Again, something I wish I had thought to consider before booking.

The Galapagos Islands are, of course, beautiful and full of a diverse range of flora and fauna, but be aware that you may see the reality of survival (or not) first hand.

Take some good mosquito repellent for the rainforest!

I LOVED being in the Amazon rainforest and I wish I had spent more time there. Omar, our guide, spoke excellent English, and is so knowledgeable on all aspects of nature. It was a delight and a privilege to be guided around such a stunning part of the world by someone who has such enthusiasm for the rainforest and all who dwell within it <3

With regards to travelling responsibly and giving back to communities, with the high prices in some of the gift shops, I hope that the holiday benefited the local people by contributing to their income. It is hard to say if environmental impacts were reduced as a result of my holiday because I imagine a good amount of fuel was consumed in dinghy rides along the coastlines of the Galapagos, which would not have happened had there been no tourists. However, the more people who are moved by these experiences to tell others what they've seen and heard first hand. the more it may increase awareness of the need to support conservation.

I would say that everyone has been helpful and friendly, so keep up the good work!

Responsible Travel‘s business model is that they recommend a local travel organisation in the country that you wish to visit. In our case, it was one called Nikena Eco Adventures in Montenegro. A fixed price in advance was offered of which I paid the deposit through my British bank, paying the standard. SEPA sender’s fee if £5. Nikena wanted to add a significant amount in additional bank charges and became unpleasant when I refused to pay more than the contract price. However after some correspondence Responsible Travel offered me a full refund of the £756 deposit that Nikena had demanded. So very correct and ethical treatment. I would only add that a fixed amount in GBP payable directly to Responsible Travel rather than a foreign currency and unspecified local additional charges would be the most secure.

You know when you are recommended travel agents to the countries you are interested in visiting through Responsible travel, the holiday agent has been rigorously researched to be responsible in caring for the environment, people & communities they recommend for trips. I have found this when I booked trips with both Wildfrontiers & Exodus adventure travel.

Prompt service and many options.
I love that the agency puts responsible and sustainable travel top of its offer. They found me a wonderful travel partner to organise an incredible holiday to Ecuador and the Galapagos.

They were our route to a fantastic trip to see Snow Leopards. Everyone on our trip had used them before and spoke highly of them and the small organisations they work through.

Recently we asked if they could do the same for an unusual itinerary in India. They explained why we’d have to go bespoke and immediately put us in touch with three small companies, all of whom made suggestions and quoted. We chose Bespoke India and couldn’t have been happier. Responsible Travel were excellent at understanding our needs and making the best possible introductions. I find myself recommending them to anyone I know contemplating travel abroad.

The trip with Odyssey Travel, organised through Responsible Travel, to Borneo, was amazing and everything went very smoothly and professionally.

We booked the most incredible trip to Namibia through Responsible Travel for our 30th wedding anniversary. They were great at answering our various questions before booking, super efficient and very easy to deal with. Their partners in Namibia were the best - amazing guide who knew so much about the country, the politics, the wildlife, astronomy, how to change a tyre (twice!) and also the other guides on safari and in Damaraland. Will definitely be booking with them for our next trip!

I have used responsible travel several times to plan trips. They have always been excellent and it was great to hear directly from companies how well Responsible Travel look after them. It is a fantastic site to find small companies that do good in the world. Would highly recommend.

Upitrek were fantastic in organising an amazing trip to Hossa National Park. They always responded quickly to emails, providing answers to all my questions. I loved all the activities especially the dog sledding. I would highly recommend them. Our guide Petri was incredible and so knowledgeable

I had the most spectacular adventure in Southern Morocco - I would recommend Intrepid to anyone who wants a new and amazing experience

I contacted Responsible Travel to book a trip to Thailand taking in a Tuk-Tuk tour. They put me in direct contact with their partners who arranged everything for us on an amazing 11 day adventure.
Highly recommended.

The trip I was booked on never happened...the whales migrated early and I was the only booked passenger. Responsible Travel supported me every step of the way, even e mailing on a Saturday evening with an update. Today marks three weeks since I was promised a refund by the company I booked with and which never materialised, and at this point the Managing Director stepped in and refunded me personally.
I will certainly book any future such trips with Responsible travel. Superb service.
