Didn't work for me because I didn't use flux when desolding and rushed the ribbon removal. I was lucky and had a spare parts system but if you take your time, follow the right instructions for your model (VA0 is different from VA1), use flux whenever you're touching the iron to anything, you'll do fine. One tip I got that really helped me was to use a metal clip to hold the adapter board in place after you line it up. It's easy for it to shift while you're soldering if you're not careful and the pins have to line up PERFECTLY. If they're not exactly aligned, carefully desolder it and try again. Get a lot of GOOD solder wick, it'll make retries less painful. Otherwise exactly the same quality screen (and modes) as the McWill mod. I wish there was an integer scaling LCD available but this is right now the best option.

I ordered some new soundboard for my Game Gear. RetroKai was:
- Flexible. I originally ordered the wrong board - they let me change my order to ones with tantalum caps).
- Delivered quickly. I'm in Australia and it only took 2-3 weeks during COVID. I'm still waiting for other stuff from other sellers in Europe that I ordered ~4 months ago!
- Developed an excellent mod. I'm impressed by the sound quality of my new sound boards and found the mod very easy to install. This is consistent with my past experience when I ordered an LED backlight. Their mods are super clean... really well thought out!
