Great service very helpful on the phone call I made to renew my insurance, will recommend and use again thank you
I've been with SAGA for my car insurance at least 4 years now. Never had a problem at all. Their service is top quality and in fact their automated help service is in fact the best I have ever used. Good work and keep it going to these high standards.
another [scam] insurance company trying to lock you in with an autorenewal. Oh! and when you try to cancel autorenewal via webchat it doesn't work. Oh! and there's no easy way to find an email address either.
Guess what Saga, i DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU so your sales folk can try to retain me off a pre-prepared script. You wanna retain me? Then offer me the best price at your first renewal offer. Oh! and i don't want your other scam of 3 years worth of fixed pricing; insurance should be coming down over that period with no claims!!!
Clear. concise and relevant information which proved to be pragmatic, void of repetition. Saga price cover was decidedly better value for money in relation to my previous cover, taking into account relevant details resulting in a much improved customer service.
The chat answered my queries, so I was able tyo arrange my insurance on-line.
I had to cancel my insurance, I got through quickly to an actual person who was clear, friendly and helpful.
Saga are always easy to deal with. Those you speak to are warm, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Rubbish service. Waiting weeks to hear about my claim and hearing diddly squat from Saga. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

We are currently stuck in thailand due to war in iran due to fly back through dubai but our flight was canceled we have no flights home no accommodation , phoned saga who we booked our holiday insurance through basically told us tough we dont cover war , and should have read policy wording, it didn't really cross my mind war might break out while I was away, paid two hundred and forty nine pounds, i also had burst ear drum while I was away and wouldn't help with that either i paid for treatment myself as it was less than there excess, I always thought saga was a quality company, they are nothing but thieves this company is an ABSOLUTE JOKE and do not care about people , avoid at all costs
Update
So you say other insurance don't cover war, I spoke to a gentleman who had insurance just through his bank account with HSBC , they are covering accommodation cost and spends for there customers and some of flights home, how can a bank insurance policy free with his account be better than a policy which i paid two hundred and forty nine pounds for, a dedicated travel policy, I hope you experience what we've been through no flights home, no way of getting home, no accommodation, no help ,karma what goes round comes round, SORRY COMPTER SAYS NO, joke , I thought Saga was a reputable company , you are CON ARTISTS, come chat and we will be happy to help , what a complete lie, you've done nothing except saying your not covered, what help !!!!!!
On my return I will be getting in touch with the financial ombudsman, i've already put claim with my credit card company for services not provided.

The quote for building and contents insurance was three time higher than the next highest quote (and 5 times higher than lowest quote) , offering the same cover and excesses. Did not take the Saga insurance as definitely overpriced

Awful experience. I've had saga car insurance the last 3 years. Last summer I was involved in an rta and saga decided, on all evidence, that I was not at fault with no excess to pay. Then the other driver provided a different version and challenged saying I was at fault, and then asked if I would accept 50/50 fault. I was advised that, based on all the evidence given, to not accept 50/50 fault and my insurance would pursue for 100% other driver fault. That was last November and it is now late March. I contacted Carpenters and AXA who are pursuing as part of my Insurance with Saga and both informed me that they are awaiting to hear from Saga before making any further steps. I rang Saga and spoke with an unhelpful young lady who repeatedly told me that my insurance claim has been settled in favour of the other party and full payout to them has been made despite my explaining what Carpenters and AXA have told me. I asked who do I speak with regarding this mis communication of events and the woman told me to ring AXA and Carpenters again, which I did and they confirmed the claim has not been settled. Carpenters emailed Saga approx over 2 weeks now as they said they need something? Unsure what? Before proceeding with the non fault claim but I have heard Nothing since. Meantime, my policy insurance is now due for renewal and I dont know how to ascertain accurate quotes to insure me going forward. And Saga have offered to insure me at a cost of almost £300 more!! I'm at a loss in more ways than one.

I have just received a quote from saga to insure my car for nearly £3000.where on earth did they conjure that figure from.i have been driving for 66 years and never had a accident.i worked for the police as a community road watch officer and held a psv licence for 22 years.is it because of my age rather than my experiance.if so it looks like ageismn to me.out of all drivers it was stated that older drivers caused just 4.3 percent of accidents compared to younger drivers.i got my insurance elsewhere for £1000.05 overnearly £2000 less with a well know company fully comp.i am very proud of my driving record.

I must have done something wrong the first time. Maybe you could give more of a warning if an item has not been completed properly or maybe it is just me!
I completed the form on line and was happy with the conditions and price, but I had one small question so I tried to phone you. I waited more than 20 minutes and instead of being conected with an agent I was left having to answer a survey and then cut off. This will I hope not be repeated if I have tomake a claim (most unlikely) or report the death of my spouse. Eventually I gave up and had tomake my payment on line.

My car insurance is due for renewal with Saga. When the renewal came through I needed to let Saga know that on our other car (and different insurance) there had been an accident but with a âno fault claimâ against the other drivers insurance. This should have been straightforward.
The first call at 0845 dropped out so I called back and was told that Jaydan who I had been talking to would call me straight back after he finished with another customer. At 0930 I called again and was asked by the agent if I would like to go ahead and renew. I said no I wanted a new quote with the accident showing on the renewal. Without warning he put me through to someone (no idea who but think it was a broker) who said they didnât need to be told and put me back through the system to Saga who didn't pick up. I called again and the lady on the phone said she would put a complaint in for me and record the accident on the renewal and my premium would only go up by a couple of £ for a no fault claim and then quoted me £80 more. When I queried the large rise in premium it was dropped by £60 and then by £70. I asked for a new set of paperwork to be emailed to me with a quote. By now it was 1030, two hours nearly since my initial call. When the email came through with the new quote it had gone up by £10 which I didnât mind but the accident wasn't showing under the section âhave you had any accidents in the last five yearsâ. In the afternoon Jaydan called me from the 0845 call but I was busy, I said the accident needed to be added to the renewal so he said he would call me back later which he didnât. I called two days later and asked to speak to a Manager but was told that as I had put a complaint in I would have to wait for contact from the Complaints department and their turnaround was four days. That timescale has now passed and I have heard nothing.
Really poor service from Saga, goes without saying I have now taken insurance with another company.

ð How about this:
*1/5 stars - Beware of SAGA's hidden fees and questionable customer service*
I am writing to warn others about my experience with SAGA insurance. My car policy ended in January 2026, and I didn't opt for automatic renewal. Despite this, SAGA sent me a letter demanding £47.84 in cancellation fees. When I challenged them, they offered a £15 refund, claiming it was due to a fixed price deal for 3 years. However, this was only if I chose to renew - I wasn't committed to staying with them.
I insisted on escalation as the customer service rep claimed no further action could be taken, and I wasn't happy with the £15 refund for a fee I shouldn't pay. It's been a lengthy call, and I am waiting for a response after 72 hours.
I also had issues with excess fees for claims, including a £350 excess for misfuelling compared to cheaper private options. Their key excess policy is similarly questionable. SAGA looks attractive price-wise until you need to claim, then the hidden costs kick in.
Overall, steer clear unless you want to risk hidden fees and questionable service.
*Details:*
- Policy ended Jan 2026, no renewal
- £47.84 cancellation fee, reduced to £32.84 after complaint
- High excess fees for misfuelling (£350) (did not proceed with SAGA) and key claims
- Lengthy, unresolved complaint process

Relatively easy Form to complete and helpful telephone contact. Overall an efficient service.
In 2026 one expects a website to work and not throw more Error 403's at you than you have hot dinners in a year!
Apparently the Insurance website won't if you use "Private Relay" which gives us users added security. You have to clear cache & cookies and it still does not work!!
Save yourself a load of time, hassle and money by using another broker.
