Excellent service in rebuilding my fiat 124 Spider auto gearbox. After months on searching Service 4 Service was the only place that would repair my gearbox. Great customer service by Elliot Cox.

Easy to get through to them and then great help and customer service from Eliot. Helpful and knowledgeable.

I was served by Elliot who was polite and very helpful when it came to getting a quote for my gearbox. Within 5 minutes my car was booked in and at a very reasonable price too! Would highly recommend.

Avoid because they say anything to get your vehicle in and once your vehicle is with them their attitude changes the prices go up and it becomes very difficult to get hold of them.

Service 4 Service Ltd. were recommended by my garage who service my Ford Galaxy. A major design fault with the gearbox in these cars is common, but Ford themselves won't touch them or indeed a vast majority of garages! The Galaxy has done 124,000 miles and apart from this problem is in very good condition, perfect for the job I do. Our VW Tiguan developed a gearchange problem and after reading the reviews went with Service 4 Service. Spoke to Peter on the Wednesday who gave an approximate price range cost. He arranged for the car to be collected the next day and by Friday a diagnose had been done with the quote being the same as Peter had already told us. We were kept updated about the repairs and on the following Wednesday were told the car was repaired. It was delivered back on the Thursday just one week after been taken away. There were no hidden charges added and everything was upfront, the experience with Service 4 Service was second to none, and a big thank you to Peter for helping us through this.

This was quite a major job and I was worried that I'd be without the car for months. However, the car was collected promptly, James kept me informed of the process on a regular basis and much sooner than I could have hope, it was fixed and returned. A brilliant service!

Julian and his team at service 4 service helped me so much when my cars gearbox and mechtronic unit decided to break and caused so much damage internally! Even though they had problem after problem they constantly worked on my car until it was diving like new again. I own a volvo XC90 T8, great car but upkeep can be expensive. Something went wrong with it's ERAD (complex gearbox) unit. I got it to a Volvo main workshop where I was quoted well over £8000, possibility up to £10K as it would need the whole unit replacing. That prompted me to shop around and I ended up on the phone with James from Service4Service. Right from the beginning I was impressed by James, not only was he very knowledgeable about the problem but also very down to earth in explaining the situation and offering solutions along with a much more reasonable cost, the gearbox could be repaired! At a time when faced with a cold distant Volvo dealership, James was a breath of fresh air and gave me the feeling of confidence i was looking for. I now have my car back and running perfectly. My experience with Service4Service was just about perfect from start to finish, James remained my point of contact always making an effort to keep me informed of progress. Needless to say that trusting a repair shop isn't easy which is why I've always gone to the manufacturers main dealer but Service4Service has changed my mind and saved me a substantial cost. I don't usually bother with reviews, why praise someone for doing the job they are supposed to do! But when I've had a great customer experience and also been saved thousands of pounds i think it's deserved and others should benefit from the service they offer. I'll recommend them without hesitation.

I was faced with a major clutch problem on my Skoda and struggled to find a garage who could supply a fix, luckily I found Service4Service. From the outset they were an excellent company to deal with. Their professionalism was evident from the initial discussion on the first phone call, right through taking the car, keeping me informed throughout and delivery of a fixed car which has been rock solid since. I can't recall ever having a better car repair experience, and would not hesitate to use them again in future. Many thanks to Pete and all the team who worked on my car for a first class job.

Great stuff guys. Really pleased to have my car back on the road after they rebuilt my gearbox. Elliot was honest with me from the start about timeframes and they kept to it. I felt he was in control and knew what was going on whenever I wanted an update. Price was competitive, so much better than what Audi wanted to charge. Glad I found these guys.

What an amazing experience, from originally advising me that another garage may be cheaper. Being let down by that garage and then Pete from Service 4 Servive swept in amd saved the day. Amazing communication from day one to the final transaction and checking after I received the vehicle back to ensure I was happy with the work completed and no other issues appeared.

We were advised to go ahead with a very expensive repair—almost the value of the car. Although we considered writing it off, they convinced us the car would be “like new” after the work.

They kept our car for over a year, always with excuses—waiting for parts, staff on holiday, even blaming a supplier merger (which wasn’t true). When we finally got the car back, it couldn’t even pass its MOT.

The MOT revealed brake fluid contamination, a broken coil spring, and severe corrosion—issues that clearly got worse during the year they had it. They had seen the corrosion during the repair but never advised us to stop or rethink it.

We then tried to fix the corrosion elsewhere, but another mechanic damaged something. The sad part is, we would’ve never taken the car to someone else if the original garage had properly judged its condition and advised us to write it off.

After all that time and money, we still had to scrap the car. Feels like it was used more as a training project than genuinely repaired.

Extremely disappointed.
