We’re sorry to hear that you’ve experienced an issue with your summerhouse door and understand how frustrating it must be when you’re looking for assistance.

We did respond to your enquiry and, after reviewing the photographs provided, identified that the building shown was an Alora summerhouse rather than the 3x5 Overlap SD Value building supplied through Wayfair. As the Alora was purchased through a different retailer, we advised you to contact the retailer you purchased it from so they can assist with the issue and arrange any appropriate support.

We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused and hope the matter can be resolved for you as quickly as possible.

Hi Wendy,

I’m sorry your delivery was rearranged at such short notice and that you had to chase confirmation of the new date.

To clarify, the order details we receive from Tesco include the order number, telephone number and delivery address, but no customer email address. We should have checked this with you when booking your delivery so we could send confirmation.

Although your summer house arrived on the rearranged date, we understand the disruption to your plans and the frustration of now waiting for your tradesman to be available again. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the condition of some of the timber supplied with your log cabin. We understand how frustrating this must have been, particularly when you were looking forward to getting the cabin built and were then faced with split and bowed panels.

We are pleased to hear that you were able to locate the missing panel, but we appreciate that this does not take away from the concerns you have raised regarding the condition of the wood.

We would still be more than happy to arrange replacement timber for any panels that have arrived damaged or are unsuitable for use. If you have not already done so, please send us the part numbers and quantities required, along with photographs where possible, and our team will be happy to look into this for you.

We also apologise if our previous response, asking whether the building had been fully treated, gave the impression that we were overlooking the other concerns you had raised. This was not our intention. While treatment can be an important factor in maintaining a timber building, we understand that the issues you have described need to be properly considered in their own right.

I’m very sorry to hear that the shed arrived with areas of the coating missed, as well as the damage to the roofing felt. While our dip-treated sheds are intended to receive further treatment after delivery, the coating should still be applied consistently, and the roofing felt should arrive in good condition.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and would like the opportunity to put things right for you. If you could please send us a few photographs showing the missed areas of coating and the damaged felt, our team can review this and advise on the next steps.

We’re pleased that the missing hinges were sent within two days and arrived safely, along with the replacement end piece. We also appreciate you providing photographs of your remaining concerns regarding the nails and the marking on the door.

These concerns have now been reviewed and we have responded to you directly. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer the partial refund or goodwill payment requested, although we are sorry that we could not provide the outcome you had hoped for.

We do want to note that we responded to your complaint on 4 September at 16:49, shortly after your messages that afternoon. In our response, we addressed your concerns about the delivery, explained the information provided by the driver, and confirmed the next steps should you find any missing or damaged components.

We completely understand that finding the playhouse components left on your driveway, particularly in poor weather, was frustrating. If there are any parts that have been damaged or are missing, please get back in touch with us with the relevant details and photographs and we’ll be happy to look into this for you.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and completely understand your frustration, particularly after your delivery date was changed twice without the communication you expected.

We’re also sorry to hear about the issue with the window latch. This isn’t what we would expect from a new playhouse, and we’re happy to arrange a replacement to get this resolved.

In relation to the timber treatment, our buildings are supplied with a dip treatment to provide protection during storage and transportation. As explained in our care and maintenance guidance, the timber does require further treatment with a suitable wood preservative once delivered to provide ongoing protection. We appreciate that this may not have been clear and understand your concerns regarding the areas you felt had been missed.

We’re disappointed that your experience has not met the standard we aim for and would really like the opportunity to put things right. Please get back in touch with our team so we can assist further with the replacement latch and any outstanding concerns.
