Inquired about the delivery of an item for sale on their website. They didn't reply and then increased the price of the item from $140 to $1200 - 3 times the standard retail price for the exact item elsewhere. Waste of time.

I'm so dissapointed. How could they sent me a totally different product from what I purchased?? TOTALLY won't shop on this site ever again.

Very disappointed! Terrible seller. I ordered a white size S, but they sent a blue size XL instead. When i requested a return, the seller ignore my messages. It is clear they don't care about customer satisfaction once they have your money

AWOID, led me think I'm baying 10 pack circular saw blades while I received only one, basically paid six time what it is worth in regular shops. Took ages to ship. No communication what so ever, chat doesn't work, emails not answered.

Scam company, should be in prison. How this company runs like this in 2026 is beyond me.

I initially purchased 5 items from Smart Fox via TradeMe over 3 auction listings with excellent results each time. The items were exactly as described and arrived in good time. I then made a purchase directly from Smart Fox. One of the items was faulty on arrival. After emailing I quickly received a very helpful and supportive response. Without hesitation I was offered a replacement. To my surprise when the replacement arrived there were 2 items in the parcel. When I queried the extra item I was told the second item was for any inconvenience. The person I communicated with was very friendly, polite and extremely helpful. Many thanks again :-)

Where do I even begin with this absolute circus of a company?

Placed an order online and didn’t even get something as basic as a confirmation email. Nothing. Not a peep. At that point I should’ve taken the hint and run.

Followed up with them and was told it would take “a few weeks” — which is already pushing it in 2026 when most companies can get items across the country faster than you can finish a coffee.
But fine, gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Fast forward to nearly a month later, and I’ve been chasing them up almost daily… and guess what? Silence. No updates, no tracking, no accountability. Just straight-up ghosting.

And here’s the kicker — this isn’t even an isolated experience. Other customers are reporting the same thing: orders delayed, no communication, emails ignored. One reviewer literally said they “never hear back” after chasing their order. That’s not bad luck — that’s a pattern.

Meanwhile, their Trade Me profile looks all shiny with positive feedback, but that clearly doesn’t reflect what happens when something actually goes wrong.
At this point I’m not even annoyed — I’m impressed. It takes real commitment to customer neglect to ignore someone this consistently.
Would I recommend Smartfox?
Not unless you enjoy paying money to play a thrilling game of “Will it ever arrive?”
Save yourself the stress. Shop literally anywhere else.

Purchased a book 2 weeks ago. No shipping confirmation or item yet. No replies to multiple emails. I’ll never use this company again. Good job

Do not buy from this store, the market up on their products is insane. They think you are stupid, prove them wrong.

Case in point, scrolling socials today and saw an advertisement for a 3kg bucket of Nutella today, curious i checked the price...

Who is going to pay $143 for a 3kg bucket of Nutella when you can buy x4 750g jars for $50?

Another company where they say they will send it on a certain date, hear nothing, you send a message asking where it is, they ignore you, and you never hear back from them again. Avoid.

Ordered before xmas got half order a week ago for towels....they were wrong colour....no sign of other half of order, no correspondence on nz or au chat, sent 6 emails....they are ripping people off, no correspondence, awaiting full correct order but will probably never receive

Terrible company. They took my money and still have not delivered It has been over 1 month so far. They have no contact phone number and they do not answer emails. I have had 1 respose 6 days ago saying they were couriering my order that day but no track number nor any sign of order. They are still not responding. I doubt they have sent my order

Ordered item 6th needed for event on 18th, no delivery and reported to Smartfox who promised delivery by 17th. Nothing arrived 17th and ordered from alternative supplier for express courier delivery on 18th (which arrived on time same day). Parcel that should have arrived 17th from Smartfox arrived 19th. Never use this supplier again!

Horrible company. Claiming to have all the stock in NZ but it is the scam. No tracking number, no order status. Avoid them! I am still waiting for my order. I doubt it will ever arrive.

They forgot about my order and I found they charge exorbitant prices pretty much double on foodstuffs compared to our 2 resident public extortionists

Prices are absolutely disgusting complete rip off really hope no one buys anything at their ridiculous profit margins- please be aware and cautious to shop around!

Scammers purchased item from trademe no communication to its whereabouts no reply to emails company is obviously a scam and selling items they don't actually have in stock

Pricing is ridiculous, on Trade Me or their website it is double or more of the retail price in stores.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!They don't advertise their products correctly & trick you into paying 20 times the regular price and they are not Australian so postage is really expensive too. I paid over AU$50 FOR 2 small boxes of tea. They don't reply to emails when you want a return
