Everything about Alami Alor was 5 star., the rooms, the staff, the guides, the food, the setting , the customer service! Our hosts Rhome & Max joined us for every meal. The non stop joking between them and Marcus made the dinner conversations very entertaining. Temo's pre dinner presentations re the affects of global warming on the reef, Indonesia facts, local fishing were very interesting. Our fun filled , very knowledgeable guide Marcus was always trying to make each person's experience better. The dive guides enthusiastically found the hidden sea life and took photos with our cameras for us while we watched. The Komodo Resort is in a great location with scenic boat rides to great snorkelling, we enjoyed turtle bay, staff and services are attentive. Best of all are Marcus's incredible photos which make the memories last forever....can you say MOLA MOLA!

Misool and Wakatobi trip is awesome. Our tours leaders did a great job keeping things running smoothly and ensuring we were happy every step of the way!

Beware that, despite initial friendliness, this company is very sticky about accommodating any changes, regardless of the circumstances. I had initially booked a trip to Egypt for 2024, but wondered about changing to Indonesia more than a year in advance. Well, that was not going to be easy, even if both trips still had vacancies. When the shooting started in Gaza slightly less than a year in advance, there was no longer any question of going somewhere safer. They just kept all the money and referred me to insurance.
In the past, I have actually been to many of the places where they go: Komodo, Alor, Raja Ampat, Sulawesi, Halmahera. Nowadays, it is not too hard to find nice places whlch take snorkelers just as seriously as divers and will provide guided trips to the same spots. This works out cheaper and so comes down to personal preference. Do you just want to snorkel with a couple of people and a guide, or be in a phalanx of snorkelers guarded on all sides?

Snorkel Venture provided an exceptional experience for my 83-year-old mother in Misool and Wakatobi, Indonesia. The team's attention to safety and comfort was outstanding from Bernita's help picking the best places in each resort for her to stay to the dive resort's staff ensuring that even seniors could enjoy the underwater wonders. The guides, Marcus and Dalton were knowledgeable, catering to various skill levels, making the trip accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The breathtaking marine life and pristine coral reefs made the journey truly unforgettable. Snorkel Venture's well-planned itinerary and thoughtful consideration for older participants made this trip a remarkable and cherished memory for my family. Snorkel Venture trip to Misool and Wakatobi. This trip was wonderful. The resorts were excellent with healthy reefs. Marcus and Dalton were great snorkel guides and were always checking on every guest to make sure everything was going well. The Snorkel Venture trips make it easy for you to relax more since the guides take care of all the inter-island travel and other planning details. This is our third trip with them, and I would go again.

We spent a week at Wakatobi Resort snorkeling in amazing waters filled with fish and coral. They made a trip to the other side of the world simple. Their outstanding guides meet you and shepard u through everything, answer questions, and take take care of any issues that come up. Furthermore they are just plain fun to be around. Our guide Bernita was fabulous. We have gone on four trips with Snorkel Ventures. If you are a snorkeler, you can’t go wrong with Snorkel Ventures for a great snorkeling adventure you will never forget.

Amazing! Breathtaking! Wonderful! Gorgeous! Awesome! Phenomenal! I struggle to find adjectives that can adequately describe the splendor of this Snorkel Venture snorkel safari. I planned and saved for this as the trip of a lifetime so I could visit healthy reefs and experience the world’s healthiest coral reef ecosystem. The trip was all that and more.

I had no idea how luxurious the trip would be nor that I would receive personalized world class white glove service from the moment I arrived in Bali. Wakatobi sent a rep to meet me as soon as my plane landed and at each transfer point to make sure that my travels were smooth.

Marcus, our fabulous tour leader, is very attentive to the needs and whims of each guest and generous with his knowledge and talent. It was a huge bonus that he shared his beautiful photos with us and helped me become a better diver and photographer all while being ridiculously charming, entertaining and authentic. I am super sensitive and lost my sunglasses while we were snorkeling. Marcus even gave me the sunglasses off his face to protect my eyes.

Bernita is fantastic at crafting a tailor made dream vacation. The Wakatobi restaurant manger and staff are very attentive and eager to cater to our dietary needs and culinary desires. Mali, our local guide, provided service beyond anything I could have imagined. He made my dream of finding Nemo come true.

I am still processing all the other sea life I saw and even accused Marcus of dosing us because the things I saw only made sense as hallucinations or a trip through Alice’s looking glass but he assured me that the puffy cobalt blue sea star I fell in love with is indeed real as are the trippy psychedelic clam, nudibranchs?!? Octopi, and even the Crocodile fish that Galen of tropicalsnorkleing.com kindly told me about. I was so overwhelmed I told him- thanks, but i have seen a few already like this is all routine. The coral and sea life I saw are still blowing my mind and I am so glad that they told me that my trip will help with reef conservation efforts. I may have to live 2 lifetimes so I can take another once in a lifetime trip to the Coral Triangle with Snorkel Venture and Marcus.

Note to my fellow high maintenance, disabled and highly sensitive people: the humidity is brutal (UV Index=13) and there is no AC in the restaurant or Long House (limited AC in bungalow) and a no shoes rule with a lot of hot sandy trekking between them. I was able to mitigate this by making some adjustments and requesting accommodations including a floor fan/cooler, daily ice bucket and to wear shoes to limit foot and spine damage (thanks again, Marcus and the staff for being so accommodating). The resort is over-the top wonderful and most people loved everything about it without my issues. I just wanted to share my insights since I would have appreciated reading this before I went.

Summary: 10 stars out of 5! Thank you to everyone involved!

We just finished Alor and Komodo. I loved the small group size and really did love the personal feeling of Alor. The snorkel guides at Alor were amazing as well. Of course finding Mola Mola 5 days out of 7 was pretty special. Komodo is larger and less personal but does have the opportunity for Mantas, although not this trip. Lots of turtles and sharks though. Marcus was our guide and we were very fortunate to have him. Very personable, knowledgeable and a lot of fun to boot!! He is well organized and went out of his way to help people and keep the trip running smoothly.
Would highly recommend Snorkel Venture with their wide range of trips worldwide. You can be sure to have a well organized experience.
Of course I can’t forget Marcus’s excellent photography skills and how he went out of his way to have snorkel pictures with everyone and how he shared those pictures right after every session. 5 star over and above!

Absolutely AmAzing experience !
I dont usually do organised trips but I am a Very Keen snorkeler so I decided to go for this one-week Rajat Ampat holiday where I was able to do 3 snorkels (minimum) per day in the most incredible coral seascapes with vast marine life range with like minded people. Alex was fabulous in terms of bringing the group together, sharing knowledge, capturing moments with Very Good photos. Good quality resort and detailed planning from Graham should also be mentioned.

This was our second Snorkel Venture trip this year. Wakatobi was as good as described! Our guide and leader, Marcus Blake, was the leader for both adventures. He is professional, courteous, and a teacher of snorkeling as well as photography. We loved our prior trip to Belize, and signed up for this Bali / Wakatobi event.! Every detail was taken care of. The meals were excellent, with accommodations for special dietary needs. Rooms were clean and beautiful. The sea was great. Two a day snorkeling trips were well done and took us to glorious reefs to see and swim. The dive boats were large and efficient, and easy to climb in/out by ladder. Dive guides knew us by name after a day and made the experience better.

From our first email enquiry 6 months before the trip through to finally saying airport goodbye’s to our snorkel group buddies and awesome guide Marcus Blake, the snorkel venture experience was excellent.
The trip itself exceeded expectations in and out of the water. Marcus made sure all our needs were met so that we could enjoy being in Alor and Komodo.

We did a 21 day Snorkel Venture trip across Indonesia with Alex Lindbloom and it was fabulous. The snorkel sites they chose for us were fabulous. Choice of resorts was perfect. Everything was very well organised for us. And Alex as our guide was fabulous - he worked so hard to make sure everything went smoothly, was incredibly knowledgeable about marine life, took great underwater photos for us to use, and was a lot of fun to engage with. Will definitely be doing more with Snorkel Venture.

Wakatobi trip with Marcus Blake was fantastic. He checked in with everyone regularly. Sent his photos to the group after every snorkel. Marcus communicates clearly so you know what is happening all of the time. Marcus had us laughing the entire trip. All of learned something from him. Whether it was photography tips, fish/coral identification, duck diving the information was endless. I travelled solo, it was my first time in Indonesia.
Wakatobi exceeded my expectations in every way. Everything from the large boats, great food and helpful, attentive staff made this experience as good as it could have been.

Marcus Blake is a consummate guide, very knowledgeable, and so much fun. The local crew Snorkel Venture uses are also remarkable, and know what you need before you do. The resorts were both amazing, especially Alor Alami resort, wonderful staff, great food. Beautiful and healthy coral and colorful fish everywhere. Wow! Just back from my 1st trip with Snorkel Venture to Indonesia and it was beyond what I had expected. Everything about this company is exceptional - great communication & preparation for trip, smooth travel transfers, as well as outstanding tour leader and local guides. Having been to Indo previously with not-so-great guides I was a bit apprehensive but these guides are amazing at finding critters and being respectful of them as well. Our tour leader, Marcus Blake, brought such great knowledge, energy and passion that it made the entire experience outstanding. He quickly figured out what each person’s preferences were and made sure everyone had personal attention to make their trip special. Beautiful resorts with amazing staff who went out of their way to get you anything you needed. I will definitely be taking more trips in the future with them and have recommended them to several people already!

Fantastic snorkeling trip to Alor and Komodo! We were delighted to find a tour company that focuses on snorkeling, covers the region we wanted to visit, and is staffed with snorkeling experts willing to answer every question and offer detailed advice… with videos! Communication was fantastic and the reality exceeded expectations. The coral and marine life were tremendous, the resorts were charming (with wonderful house reefs), and people were friendly and welcoming. Our tour leader Marcus Blake took the trip to the next level! He efficiently handled all the travel arrangements and activities without ever seeming ruffled, took great care to ensure everyone was having a good time and feeling comfortable, addressed every requirement, was unfailingly good humored, and kept everyone entertained with hilarious stories and banter! He went out of his way to enhance encounters with dolphins, whales, and mola mola while always ensuring the animals’ welfare. While snorkeling, he pointed out numerous sea creatures we may have otherwise missed. Really couldn’t ask for more and we look forward to another adventure with him and Snorkel Venture!

Yet again, Snorkel Venture and Marcus Blake have exceeded my expectations. This was my first trip to Indonesia and from Alor to Komodo, we had an amazing experience. Marcus brings so much humour and knowledge to these trips, and I specifically booked this tour because of him since I had thoroughly enjoyed my Mexico tour with Marcus. All the small flights in Indonesia were incredibly well coordinated, and having an experienced guide, made all the difference to the length of the travel time to get here. All the staff at Snorkel Venture were amazing at coordinating and answering every single question I had prior to journeying halfway around the world. Each resort brought different pieces to the experience, and are very different and wonderful in their own way. Although Komodo is looking a little worn, there are new owners, and we saw evidence of updates while we were here. One day I will return to both places as the experience was beyond my expectations overall. I am already looking at tours for 2024 and 2025! So wonderful to have a Snorkel specific company to choose from.
