Absolute garbage. I paid $80 for a "sweater" that looks like a $10 dollar Walmart clearance item. I ordered pants that are backordered for 5 months. Can't wait to see those.

I finally found a company that makes leggings that fit me! The three leggings I have bought are beautiful, have a nice fabric blend and fit perfectly. I also ordered a black top which fits very nicely and has a classy look to it. Paired with the leggings, I have a nice comfortable going out outfit. The shipping was super fast. So far they’ve won me over!

I purchased a coat at a great price, fit well, light weight as described but the zipper is a nightmare. I've had to step in and out of the coat several times in order to get the zipper to go up or down. I could opt to have the zipper replaced but that's just added on money spent on a coat. Not happy.

One star is too many! Horrible experience from what used to be a great retailer. Laughable customer service, long delays in receiving merchandise, low quality clothing and surprise return shipping fees. Overall a deceptive retailer.

While the clothes are lovely and unique I find sizing inconsistent and so frustrating. The clothes are quite expensive too. Beware the company charges to return items and only gives a partial refund. I have lost 55 lbs and my dress size has gone down. I had ordered a shirt 1 size down and it was huge. Recently purchased a beautiful fall dress which I was so excited to receive for an event. This time I re-measured myself and selected a size based on their sizing chart. It arrived and I tried it on today. Unfortunately it is far too tight and I have to return it but to the tune of $9.95. So if I reorder the dress the next size up I fear it will be too large and also have to be returned (size I previously bought in another item and hung on me). In essence I am paying $20 to try on a dress...no thank you.

Awful, dated, dowdy clothing made of cheap fabrics. Just looking at the fabric hurts…. not to mentions the toxic ripple effects: labor practices, production, toxins, pollution, economy…. I was a big fan back in the day. It was a special clothing source.

Now I picture a multi-conglomerate who does things cheap cheap cheap before making a few bucks riding ye olde coattails.

In other words, let’s look for clothing elsewhere….outside 90% of the junk corporations are tossing our way. Soft Surroundings reflects the norm.

They assume we are “soft” too, in our brains!

I've been asking them to remove me from their catalog mailing list for months and they won't do it. I feel like they are killing trees to send this number of pages and I won't order while I'm still getting these catalogs. Ugh!

I used to purchase from them. I haven't recently and I will no longer purchase from them. Out of an 80 page catalog, over 95% were made out of synthetic fabrics. Yuck. Disgusting next to the skin and very unhealthy. At a time when most companies are getting savvy to the fact that people want natural fabrics like wool cotton linen bamboo,this company thinks it's 1980!

I am usually very careful online but somehow I was scammed into a "loyalty" program that was CHARGING ME $16.99 a month! I have no idea how much I have been paying this as I bought MAYBE one item a year. I caught this payment and cancelled it today. This was a deceptive practice.

They use SPEEDX to deliver their products.... SPEEDX is the worst delivery service! I will never order from Soft Surroundings again until I hear they are using a different delivery service. Do not order from Soft Surroundings- you will not receive your order!!

Actually, I have been a long-term customer and am happy with their sizing and usually don't return many items. However, here's a few things I don't like that happened recently:

1. In March, I left my cart open and had major surgery. Someone took it upon themselves to close it out and try to process the cart for payment. Well, they tried using an older credit card, and it wouldn't go through. They kept trying to process it 3 times through SoftSurroundings and 10 times through Coldwater Creek. When I came back online, I had two credit cards with fraud alerts and a big mess to clean up.

I skip through the lures of membership for cheaper shipping by buying enough that my shipping is free. The only place I pay membership for whether I order or not is Amazon. I agree that it is egregious for them to do a cash grab on customers who don't get what that is, but buyer beware. I won't pay to buy from you and unless you are a purchaser of a small number of items on a monthly basis, it doesn't make financial sense.

You do have to double-check returns to make sure you are credited for all you return. And only box up one order per box, even if you have returns for multiple orders, or you might not get credit for all you return.

My last gripe is that sometimes they say they have an item and then it never shows up. I was looking for an item I ordered back in January and noticed they still had not delivered boots. The order says they will be delivered in October. I canceled. That is ridiculous to keep an order open that long. If it isn't coming in 30 days, then I cancel now. But they can be sneaky about when things are supposed to show up.

I purchased 2 items from Coldwater Creek. One was never removed from the bag and the other one didn't fit. I returned both at the same time but had to use two containers since they didn't both fit into one. They charge $9.95 for a return and charged me $9.95 for each item PLUS illegally keeping the sales tax per California. Today, I almost ordered an item from Soft Surroundings only to discover that they are owned by Coldwater Creek and have the same return policy. I cancelled at once. These companies are owned by a group in Hong Kong Newtimes Group. You never get your full amount of purchase so it is not the way a reputable company does business. Don't order from them.

Soft Surroundings online shopping is not working for me. Two times I have purchased items from them online. In both cases, the items pictured (a blouse and shawl and a dress) were much duller in color than portrayed in the pictures. In addition, the dress that I bought showed a length slightly below the knee. When I got it, it dragged all the way to the floor. I didn’t want to bother returning it, so I simply had it altered, but it’s still considerably longer than what I expected. If ever they go back to brick and mortar stores, I may give them another chance, but I will not be shopping there in the near future.

I wish I had checked out this company with TrustPilot before I had ordered with them. A few weeks ago I placed an order and realized very quickly I had accepted the “default” color - which I didn’t want. I contacted them by phone, within a half hour. I was told the order was already locked in and could not be changed. Of course I told the “customer service” rep that this was not acceptable, especially for a company that has any interest in public relations.
I was, basically told “too bad.”
I then emailed the company, telling them I wanted the order cancelled. Once again, “ too bad” from a higher person in the hierarchy.
This is unbelievable to me - and I hope this review will deter anyone from ordering from Soft Surroundings. A long time customer means nothing to them.

If I could give. Them a minus 19, I would. Don’t waste your money buying from soft surroundings. Since combining with Cold water their fabric is thin and inferior. The Anastasia Gowns I bought 8/25 are tearing up and getting holes all over the gowns! Soft surroundings would not make it right by replacing the inferiorly made gowns!

The sizing is all over the place. Very inconsistent. So having to return an item is expensive, time consuming and frustrating. I ordered a shirt in my normal size, it came in very large so I had to return it, paying shipping again, and they took a very, very long time to credit my account. So I ended up with nothing, and owed them money.

The slacks wet not sized per the companies specifications. Returning them was a costly chore and the refund has yet to be completed.

One online purchase made over a month ago. Today I was charged $16.99 on my credit card for Soft Surroundings Membership that I did not approve. Buyer beware!!

The dress was made of cheap material and wax too big!!! The return cost me $10 which is unacceptable. Will never order again.

Be VERY careful when ordering online! Somehow, in the online ordering process, customers are enrolled in a "rewards" program that subsequently charges the customer $16.99 monthly. If you don't catch this sneaky practice, you will end up with a hidden monthly charge whether you order with them or not! Shameful and unethical!
