I am so disappointed with return policy. I ended up losing over $27.00 to return an item, not the $ 9.95. My bank account was charged $164.51 for items and after returning will receive $137.25. This is a rip off. Will not order here anymore when there are other companies that handle returns honestly. No more stores to go into so no more online business for you.

I too was charged for Rewards Membership without any indication that it was going to happen - no consent - no permission - no verification - charge for $16.99 just showed up on my credit card about a month after I ordered a blouse from Soft Surroundings. This is pure and simple fraud!!!! The company should be sued!!! How many buyers unwittingly are paying lingering charges because they are not alert. I've become hypervigilant to charges of this nature. And, I also ordered a dress and finally cancelled the order because SS gave no indication that the order was being filled. Terrible business behavior!!!!!!!!!

Used to purchase from SS frequently when there was a local B&M location. They closed, so since then I've occasionally ordered online. After a few years I recently ordered 5 items. Needed to send one thing back, was going to do a size exchange, but no free exchanges and the additional shipping costs are exorbitant, so I decided to just return it. Soft surroundings charges $9.99 to use their postage paid label, so I decided to return the one item, a T-shirt, using my own label and postage for half that much. That's when the trouble started. There is no return shipping address to be found on their website, or on the packing slip. It took me three days, several email attempts, and finally a phone call to their customer service to get them to give me the return address. Like so many other USA companies, they have now outsourced their customer service to some foreign country. The representatives all work from scripts, and I had to really fight with the last person I communicated with to give me that address. They kept trying to get me to use their postage paid label, when I refused they told me the return address was on the enclosed packing slip but there was no such address. The customer service phone agent verified the return address when I read it back to her, and then made sure to tell me that my return would take 3 to 4 weeks to process!! I'll bet if I had used their overpriced postage paid label It would be a lot faster. But I will make sure to pester them if I don't have the refund in two weeks (major credit card). And this will definitely be the last time I order anything from this company, it's a shame because they have some really nice clothes. But the hassle isn't worth it... they've definitely lost me as a customer.

First of all the way they ship expensive clothing is not good. A $139 dress in a little plastic bag?? Seriously. The dress was way to big and the return was expensive. I knew I would have to pay for the shipping but they charged me a $30 processing fee. I will NEVER order from them again. What a sham. It has been 13 days since they said they received my return. Purchased a very traditional blouse; it looked good online. The quality of the material was horrible; the blouse was cheaply made, and it didn't abide by traditional sizing. Will never purchase from Soft Surroundings again.

Horrible customer service and return policy.
I bought a dress for $109, got free shipping and a discount...was billed $94.12. Understood there would be a $10 return fee. Dress purchase last week of May and returned immediately after receiving in early June. NO credit appeared on my July CC statement. Called customer service....a credit had NOT yet been issued. Was offered credit of $77.24!!!! Was told they cant credit the discount they offered. SCAM! I demanded a credit of $84.12 without success. Bottom line...DONT ORDER FROM SOFT SURROUNDINGS

Returns are expensive. They did not give me the refund they documented in an email. They did not give it on time or for the disclosed amount. I have had to call them multiple times. Clothes were to large. Reordered same items assuming the only cost would be 9.95 for shipping, WRONG!!!!!!! No explanation.

I ordered 2 dresses. The quality of the fabric is very poor, and they're overpriced at $80 and $100 (only 9% and 11% off ON SALE)! The re-stocking fee for returns is outrageous. I will never order from them again. The only positive thing I can say is I like their policy of refunding the difference if the prices drop within 14 days of purchase. We'll see.

In the past, for many years, I ordered multiple times from Soft Surroundings. I ordered a pair of pajamas, shirt and pants separately. They were not in pairs. The pants fit correctly and the shirt was too large. I called customer service for an exchange. I mailed it back the same day. The process took so long on their end the shirt was unavailable in the smaller
size. Fast forward to another more recent purchase, I ordered a dress for my mother’s funeral with a delivery date a week before the service. I checked for the delivery daily and no package. I called, “on back order”. I cancelled the order and got one timely from Dillard’s. Their customer service has declined and I will no longer shop with Soft Surroundings.

Actually my rating is Zero! BEWARE! Made one purchase and have been repeatedly billed monthly on my credit card for some fake rewards program I did NOT sign up for!! SCAMMERS!

Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. I wanted to use a gift certificate and was informed that it was no longer valid since Soft Surroundings is under new ownership and the new owners will not accept gift certificates issued under the previous ownership.

The quality of your product has fallen so badly, I will never shop with you again. You were one of the few high-end catalogs that still existed & now you are gone!!!

Ordered 2 items. One had poor workmanship (tassles on the neckline of a dress were not spaced equally on both sides). Shoes on photo in catalog I ordered were different than the ones received (if I didn't already own a couple of pairs of the shoes shown in the photo, I might not have realized they were the wrong ones; they were similar enough that I believe there was deception and not just a mistake). Very disappointed and unlikely to purchase from this company again...seems like there must be new owners who don't have the same care.

I am livid with this company. Not only has the quality gone down significantly, the customer service is atrocious.

The last straw is the gift card I received for $200 6 months ago. All of the items in my order, which I added additional money to the purchase, wee out of stock. After waiting almost 2-3 months to receive it I finally called. The agents I spoke to would not refund the gift card. I attempted to make another purchase, card number no longer worked. After several calls and several bogus numbers given to me for a gift card, I finally got one that worked. I made a purchase , no compensation had to pay shipping and no coupon for compensation.

One of the two items came, the other on back order. I called several times and finally cancelled the item on back order now $100 is still in their hands and gift card number no longer works again.

Also, only two agents who change their name every time you call. When you call them on it they say yes ma’am. Over called three times today, no avail. Going to report them to the BBB and call credit card co and claim fraud. They have gone downhill and no longer trust this company.

Apparently back in 2024 when I made my only online purchase with softsurroundings I signed up for a trial "rewards" program. Well that program cost $16.99 a month and they never send you any communications about it - just take your money! BUYER BEWARE.

I ordered a dress from Soft Surroundings. I was informed they no longer had the size I needed. I figured that was that and didn't plan on getting the dress after all. I was later sent the dress in the new size without my reordering. My request was for a return and a refund - INCLUDING the postage of nearly $10 to return it. I was informed that was my responsibiility. I had not been toldany thing about back orders or whether they would receive more inventory to send me the dress. It would be an easy thing for them to send me a prepaid mailing label for the return mailing fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was told I was being transferred to Customer Service, and was hung up on. Unfortunately,this lack of communication and the general lack of helpfulness will cause me to forego ordering anything else from this company.

Placed a $900 order and waited over a month for my order. I called the service center and was told that they cancelled my order. (Verification process not complete.) Horrible customer service and no emails or helpful support from them. Will not recommend any purchase from this company.

I ordered one thing from them, a jacket. I did not like the jacket, but it was on sale, so I couldn't return it. I thought a lot of the things on their website was nice, so I signed up for their mailing catalogue, no big deal, right? Well, once I realized I didn't actually like their customer service or their products, I contacted them to remove me from the list. I have been doing so repeatedly for over a year and they keep saying that they will, but they never do. I have moved now, and I really hope that 30th time's the charm because I feel so bad about burdening someone else with this junk mail and I don't want my full name to be given to strangers, but I do not have high hopes. This company is garbage and I hope they go out of business. The way they do things feels like how scams operate.

Be aware their return policy requires that you return within 60 days of the order date, not the delivery date. And they will not budge on this. It's my fault for not paying close attention but don't plan to order anymore from here as I'm now out several hundred dollars.

I LOVE the clothes and Soft Surroundings could be my "go to" for most of my clothes. But! Shipping costs for both receiving and returning make it prohibitive.
