I purchased 20 citrus swallow tail eggs. No sign of hatching after 2 weeks and I only received 11. I contacted the company and I was assured I would be sent the other 9 on Monday. It has been a week and I still haven't received the remaining eggs.

do not buy from this man!!!! he is a total scam artist and did not reply to emails I sent asking where my products were! I had to open a dispute with PayPal then he accepted liability and refunded me my money back, only once the case was closed he cancelled the transaction so I received no refund! well I didn't let it go so with my photographic evidence I want back to PayPal who looked into it and seen what he had done, they refunded my money and closed his PayPal account for fraud. no doubt he just opened another account but be very careful buying from him. I'm sure he will come back saying I am lying but I have photographic evidence just a shame I can't share it on here!!

I still stand by my review! Yes I did receive an order from you and when they arrived 3 of the 5 pupape were dead! I didnt complain as I understand the issues of posting live insects! And I am sorry for your loss which I did see and I allowed time before I got in contact with you! At the end of the day you are still running a business and like I said in my email I cannot afford to loose the money I had payed! And it's also easy to say you had problems with your bank account but you did not contact me to explain the situation so I dont believe what you say!
Most of your reviews on trustpiolt are negative so people can make their own mind up whether to buy from you or not but I know I won't be.

Scammer! Should have read the reviews before ordering. I placed an order in December last year for some insects that were supposed to be shipped in Feb. The seller agreed to this timeline up front, as the insects were to be used in a scientific study. They never came. The seller offered to refund me when I complained about the delays that impacted my plans. The refund wasn't initiated for weeks and they cancelled it while it was processing, forcing me to claim it from PayPal directly instead. I can't imagine that any legitimate business person would behave this way. Stuart, if you're out there and not a scammer, please refund my money for those Acherontia pupae! It was not my personal cash, it was government grant money designated for science. I will be forced to explain how it was lost (ie. report you to the appropriate authorities) if it is not returned.

Edit: absolute lies in the reply. I said in my cancellation email (which was sent in March, after the promised shipment was due) that if they were about to shipped, I would honor the order. I didn't receive a reply for weeks after that. Furthmore, you only initiated the refund after I posted this review and had already been refunded by PayPal. I'm not sure how that counts as "good faith."

Edit 2: I see you've updated your reply but are still calling me a liar. I did indeed pay via Friends and Family, as you requested (that request violates their T&C btw), but I filed the claim regarding the cancelled refund transaction. I spoke to a PayPal representative who informed me that you manually cancelled the transaction before it completed. As I said in my original review, I cannot see why a reputable business would do such a thing.

I ordered a mix of moth cocoons via their website. The delivery took a little while (but well within the range on the website, obviously it depends what they have in stock), they were well packaged. So far one has emerged and was very happy with the price and the service, I will probably be buying more from them in the future!

I have received thousands of eggs/larvae from Stuart's Butterflies and Stuart directly over the last 4-5 years now, maybe longer.
Shipping has always been fast and professionally and safely packaged with no issues receiving livestock except once with some eggs (due to postal delays during the peak of covid - not Stuart's fault at all as they were sent on time, just got about 2 weeks delay in the post!)
I have even received deaths head pupae in the post from him that have survived and that's a massive achievement in itself - they don't tend to travel well and any other pupae I've revieved from other sellers in the past have either been DOA or died shortly after.
Bloodlines have always been strong and stock always super healthy and done well.
Never been any complaints from me and I will continue to always use Stuart as he's definitely the best for livestock and super friendly and lovely too!

I ordered 10 silk moth cocoons at the end of November. The seller said shipping was delayed due to postal strikes and would be sent out Monday, December 5th. Now it has been over a week. I have sent multiple emails asking for the tracking number and even just an update with no response.

If I could give him 0 stars I would. He is a scammer. I ordered over $380 worth of livestock cocoons from him in early September and despite him emailing me that he would send them he never did and he did not provide the refund that I requested through PayPal 3 times. Each time there was not enough money in his account so PayPal could not refund to me and I eventually had to contact PayPal Management who refunded me out of PayPal's own bank and said they will investigate him. They also gave me a credit for having had put up with his nonsense for so long while waiting for my refund. In the meantimeHe sent out a tracking number that was not linked to a package that was ever dropped off at the Post Office and he did this in order to prevent PayPal from giving me a refund . However they had already processed my refund and What I received in the mail from him weeks later was a package of 12 chrysalis (i ordered and paid for ONE HUNDRED not TWELVE)were not in a silk cocoon, I ordered silk moth cocoons and these were naked chrysalis removed from cocoon, one of them was empty and broken in half, and four of them were crispy black like they'd been burned in an oven. All are undersized some so small it's insane, his genetics must be way inbred to get that to happen. He is a scammer and a scumbag, stay far far away.

The cocoons came in perfect condition! I however ignore the other reviews... You need to make sure you buy them in season or preorder them for a season otherwise you won't get them for a while! They are living animals and unfortunately can't be spawned at will. However I highly recommend purchasing from this website customer service was brilliant also when I had any concerns

Ordered eggs in Mid August for dispatch in September. Still nothing by the end of September, so I asked for a refund and got absolutely no response.

Sent a second email at the end of October and FINALLY got a refund today. I guess I'm lucky to get a refund at all judging by the other reviews.

It could've just been a one off bad experience but I'd urge caution in buying as I also ordered a 'available now' pupa in August which is still to arrive...

Daughter is absolutely elated by getting her Atlas moths and even had a addition of a moon moth which was a added bonus really happy so far. awaiting for them to come out now.

Very unreliable please avoid ,
Paid in February 2022 for delivery around the end of August 2022 with no product sent. Emailed the seller who came up with endless excuses. Paypal won't resolve the issue as it's over 180 days since purchase. Still waiting 18.07.23 Awful reviews of the same company bugsandbutterflies.uk just changed name as to avoid negative reviews. If you have not got the stock give your customers a full refund. Received a full refund to my PayPal account 21.07. 2023

Impeccable service as always. Stuart is an incredibly knowledgeable breeder and always answers any queries I have. My orders have always arrived in perfect condition. Very satisfied customer.

Excellent service. Waiting times are exactly as advertised and the stock has always arrived in good health. Seller is also knowledgable and happy to discuss stock. Can’t say I’ve had a negative experience from this despite some other reviews (which feel oddly personal) so I’m not sure if they’re legitimate.

Stuart was incredibly kind and helpful throughout my order. He politely updated me on tracking and answered the questions I had. I will be back!

The eggs I ordered never arrived and he isn't responding to my emails.

To reply to his reply I ordered 2 months ago. Interesting that he has time to respond to reviews almost immediately but will not reply to emails from customers.

Speedy delivery alongside great and educational communication throughout the process! So pleased with my order.

Exact same issues as the people below. I ordered eggs in January. It's now May.. had 1 email saying they were on pre order. I've asked several times for either a refund or a swap but no reply. I've now opened a case with PayPal.

So I've just had an email asking for me to provide more information for my review? Email states:

I have provided my order number, surely that should be enough & if you access your records, you should see my name. I'm not providing my name or contact number. This review is almost a year old, I had to go through hundreds of emails!

Since I've came back to this review (even though I completely forgotten about it) this has now refreshed my memory so I will update. My order was placed in January 2022. The website said March 2022 & I am well aware that there is a wait. I sent my first email back on the 7th of February 2022 just asking for a general ETA, sharing my love of all things creepy crawly (I keep mantis) not chasing anything up - no reply.
I then send another email on the 24th of March 2022 asking for a refund because I found another supplier - no reply.
I emailed again on the 7th of April & got a reply saying "Atlas eggs are due around May. Let me know if you want a refund or would like to wait." I replied asking for a refund - no reply.
I emailed again on the 2nd of May 2022 asking what was going on. I got a reply on the 15th of May 2022 saying "Atlas have not yet begun breeding this year, I expect to have your eggs by early June."

I gave up at this point.

Now called Bugs & Butterflies UK.
Do not buy from. Similar experience to others. He sells stock he does not have. Makes excuses about non-delivery. Then says is too busy at University. Then repeatedly promises refunds but does not send.

He's so unreliable it's painful. Doesn't send even when they're in stock and takes forever to answer. When they arrive they're also super inbred and die.
DON'T BUY FROM HIM. He will only lie to you and not send.
