We’re a friendly, family run business nestled in the glorious North Yorkshire Moors, within walking distance of the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. Our customers are modellers, collectors and enthusiasts who are fans of model railways, vehicles (military and civilian), and diecast models and figures. They are also keen kit builders and diorama creators. Our knowledgeable team includes railway modellers and dedicated railway enthusiasts, RC experts and plastic kit enthusiasts. We’re ready to provide you with a premium experience and first-class service. We’re essentially mail order, but we do have an onsite showroom and workshop for visitors to enjoy. We stock all major brands of model railway locos and rolling stock across all gauges at competitive discounted prices, usually around a 15% reduction on the recommended retail price. It’s not just locos - we supply everything you need to compliment your layout from scenery, figures, buildings and electrics to modelling tools, paints and effects. We also sell an extensive range of plastic kits, slot cars, diecast models and aviation models.

Everything is always taken care of


Everything is always taken care of quickly and in a friendly manner . From part exchanges to purchases . The team keeps you informed about part exchanges / selling of preowned items and if you find anything else they are happy to amend with that extra item/s you’ve found . My items arrived afterwards in quick success . I had one little error but because it was dealt with by the team quickly it does not change the outcome of the 5 stars . They are all very good at TMC 😄. This was my second pre owned list and I’ll be back . I’ve forgot the date but it was this year of my recent collection was sent off. Around March

As always, everything is as it should be. Item was well packaged. Dispatched was very good. Choice of delivery was the best (Royal Mail), for where I live. The company is Model orientated, so everything clicked.

The Add to Trunk option

The Add to Trunk option offered by The Model Centre on purchases is a great feature for overseas buyers. It allows buyers to pick up bargains or sought after items without having to pay for postage costs on every individual item. A great idea and it offers considerable savings for overseas buyers.

Class 43 Welsh Dragone

Received back my beautiful pair of GWR Class 43s with the Welsh Dragon and Castle nameplates applied to 43187 and 43188. Very pleased with the price and service offered. In due course I will be fitting sound to the units.
