What a fantastic company with two top guys in charge.
Lee and Jack could not be more helpful.
If you are looking for quality products or an engraving service, this is company to go to.

Excellent service. I emailed in the morning and had 2 beautiful knives polished and engraved in the afternoon. We enjoyed a very interesting tour of the workshop. They were trying to close for Christmas but gave us a lot of time and a we’re so kind. I will definitely get more presents from them in the future.

Can not say enough good things about this company, After making a last minute phone call enquiring about one of their products Jack [what a star] not only made three of the pieces for me to choose between before closing for Christmas he even delivered them to me after finding we lived in the same area . Fantastic customer service a wonderful piece and got me out of a hole , Thankyou so much !.

Great customer service. I was making inquiries about a more unusual piece of cutlery and Lee was fantastic. At first, I was surprised by how casual the email exchange was, but there are lots of benefits to be gained from the personal touch. I didn't end up making a purchase and Lee was friendly to the last. From a customer service angle, I highly recommend The Sheffield Cutlery Shop! 

I have been planning for over 12 months to order a Sheffield stainless steel cake knife for my daughter's wedding, and on Monday realised I had less than 2 weeks to the wedding and had not sorted it. Rather than order on line, the next day I drove over to the shop and Lee showed me in and all the options for the knife handle, with no pressure or hard sell. As I had travelled from across the other side of the city, Lee asked where I lived and said rather than travel over again, as it was on his way home (although I know it is a little out of his way) he would drop it off for me!

He asked me to write what I wanted engraving and I left, with a promise that the knife would be with me the next day. I got a call on Wednesday to confirm my address and as I had written a name oddly he wanted to check the actual spelling before he completed the engraving. So pleased he did, because I had spelt my future son in laws name wrong!

True to his word, Lee called on his way home and brought me a beautifully engraved and finished cake knife! Only at that stage did we agree how it needed to be paid for, and again as he he didn't want to put me out, he said to pay online and left. I immediately went on to the site, placed an order, making a note to say it was already delivered and was a retrospective payment, and messaged to say it was paid for.

Before I considered buying from them, I read a number of mixed reviews on the company on trustpilot and google, but I can only sing their praises for the excellent customer experience I received! I've already shared their details with a colleague at work who's considering a knife for her husband for Christmas and I highly recommended this shop!

Absolutely thrilled with the service, absolutely thrilled with the quality, and I wanted Sheffield Stainless Steel for my daughter's cake knife and we have a beautiful blade to cut her wedding cake with well in advance! Thank you Lee for exceeding my expectations!

My wife and I had a wonderful visit to The Sheffield Cutlery shop where Lee and Jack could not have been more helpful. I am a DIYer who puts handles on knives for a display. We were not making a big purchase, just after buying a small knife blank to fit some horn scales I had. Lee took me to see the Damascus blade blanks and spent time choosing one with a fine patterning for me. We discussed my needs and decided on a Sgian Dhubh blade for my horn scales, Jack etched my name into the blade and their logo into the other side and then Lee gave me an excellent price for the two blade blanks and a pair of Yellow Heart scales. We were shown several examples of their fine work and could have stayed there chatting forever except we had to visit a friend in Crookes.
Lee and Jack are continuing the tradition of the famous Sheffield 'Little Mesters' highly skilled craftsfolk who take justifiable pride in their work. Thanks a lot guys.

Honestly the nicest, most honest trusting people I have encountered in Sheffield. They made me feel welcome and comfortable after I turned up unannounced at 8.30am on a Tuesday morning. After telling them my budget they catered for my needs bringing out a huge selection of Bowie and lock knifes with a selection of different handles and blades to feel and pick up, letting me take my time and enjoy such a unique experience. They also brought out there classic working knife with a thick carbon blade and rose wood handle for my father which they even engraved on site. They even took the time to show me the work shop and there process. What I thought would be a quick in and out stop, ended being an hour long lovely experience which I will always remember when I am using there knifes for the rest of my life. For the price I paid for my Bowie, lock and working knife I wouldn't have been able to get just the Bowie from other providers which are over prices and pretentious. What you get from Sheffield cutlery is nothing short of perfect, from the service to the quality of there products. I wish I had a bigger budget as some of the more detailed knifes were beautiful. However what I got were perfect for me and will stay in my family untill they are worn down to the handles. If you want a great knife for a great price by genuine hard working people pay them a visit. I couldn't be happier they made my day. Thank you Sheffield Cutlery shop. All the best Joe

Navigating their web site isn’t as easy as some. I didn’t get on at all well using the magnifying glass search option. My recommendation is as follows: scroll to the very bottom of the home page and then make your selection from the list of items e.g. Stainless Steel Cutlery etc.

If you require engraving you need to select ‘Custom Laser Engraving’ from the same list at the bottom of the home page and select the quantity of items to be engraved. At the moment it’s £7/item to be engraved. I also made a quick phone call to enquire about the font type etc. The person I spoke to could not have been more helpful.

I wanted some small coffee spoons and went to the factory/shop in person. Very warm and helpful man who served me. Fascinating to hear about the business. Spoons are absolutely immaculate and you can totally feel the difference in quality to mass foreign manufactured items. And a bargain for what they are. I hope to buying more from them soon. Highly recommended.

First class customer service from Lee. I ordered an engraved wedding knife for my son and daughter in law. I ordered when the firm was on family holiday, which I was aware from the website, however Lee took the time to send me an email confirming this and when they would be back. The knife got lost in the post, Lee then produced a replacement knife and sent this special delivery, he provided me his mobile number and sent me the tracking number. It arrived in time and is perfect. Thank you Lee

Our experience was absolutely first class. We required an engraved Wedding Knife for our son and future daughter in law for the 24th of March 2023. Despite a tight time frame Lee and his son could not have been more helpful and from our perspective their customer service could not be faulted in any way. The beautifully engraved knife received in the post was extremely well packaged and was used to great effect on their Wedding day. We have nothing but praise for the Sheffield Cutlery Shop and will definitely use their services again in the future.

I ordered a commando knife for my boyfriend for Christmas as he had always wanted one. After purchase all commando knives were removed from the website and I was informed it would take approx six weeks to make. Emails were very short with no more than a few words and no Dear or Kind Regards included. The knife is very shiny and we tested it to make sure it is carbon but it is no more than an overpriced replica. The craftsmanship to make it is a skilled process and boyfriend did like it but I wouldn’t purchase again from this company as I had to do all the chasing for updates and like I said it’s a replica not a full blown knife and for £150 I fell it’s overpriced even though postage is free (or included in the price)

I note previous mixed reviews but have just received a beautifully made antler horn sgian dubh, of high quality material despite the modest price, and promptly delivered to Edinburgh (signed for) even when a postal strike was on! Lee provided a tracking number for peace of mind. Excellent product and service in my view!

I ordered a knife making kit for my brother for Christmas. Did not come with any tools, or even instructions.

I reached out to customer service for help and Lee who replied to my emails was lazy, very unprofessional and very emotional. Took my complaint very personally.

Did not offer me any help and instead gave me a speech about how many customers complained due to the poor instructions so he has now removed the instructions from the kits. lol.

I asked him if i could have a PDF copy of the instructions sent to me, if he could provide me a list of tools i needed and if he sells them, and if he could link me to some helpful youtube videos if he’s not able to give me his own set of instructions. He replied very moodily and offered me a refund rather than bothering to help me or answer my questions fully.

I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional. AVOID.

Purchased a canteen of Cutlery for my daughters wedding. The set arrived in good time and we even got some freebies! Thankyou to the staff for the extra pieces, it will not go unnoticed. Fantastic service and I will be back

I have just received my hunting knife in the post from this website. A staff member got in touch and noted that there may be an additional working day delay as the knife had to be made. The delivery was still super fast and I am overwhelmed with the knife, it is exactly what I wanted. Keep up the good work.

Order was placed on 22nd February 2022, till 14th March 2022, nothing has been delivered. Plus, there are problems with communication - God knows when (and if) I'll ever see my money back. It seems to me that I lost almost £100. Avoid them!

Order made on Feb 12th, nothing arrived. 9 days later, after contacting, was told they are on family holiday and can't help until their return. Was told conflicting stories by Lee regarding the method of sending, and tracking. Finally received a refund after 6 days of asking, even tho they offered it in the first place. Last time I ordered a spoon from them it was fine (5*) but the after-sales is a shambles. Not how to run a business.
