Thank you to Laura and team for a friendly, informative and efficient process. It's the second time I have used T&T when selling a property and I'm not quite sure why solicitors have a bad name. I was kept fully up to date at all stages and all of my questions were answered on the day. It was a pleasure and I will be recommending you to friends and family! 5 star

I have already spoken with my solicitor regarding this and am justified in writing this review, We were directly affected by your service as explained below.

Do not touch with a barge pole!!!

The first review I wrote for this company was initially constantly rebuked by them amidst claims of incorrect facts and upset on my part. What a shame they did not take use my feedback as an opportunity to do better in future. They eventually managed to get my review removed because I named the solicitor. Having checked many of the other reviews for this company they do not seem to mind the solicitors being named if the review is positive.

So here we go again....

This company were instructed by our buyer which unfortunately also had a huge impact on us. The company was incredibly slow. They advised our estate agents (also our buyer's estate agent incidentally) that they would not update them any more frequently than every 10 days.

When a rent charge on our buyer's property was discovered 6 months into the process this company claimed a 90 day turnover in getting it removed. This was a timescale they could not guarantee as, apart from being so slow themselves, they could not possibly have any influence over the holding company of the rent charge (who are notoriously difficult to correspond with and often take many many months to remove these things).

Whilst I appreciate that it was the buyer's solicitor's responsibility to raise the enquiry, any company doing it's due diligence would have spotted this rent charge as a potential red flag at the beginning of the process. Thomas & Thomas did not. Had they been more efficient then we would have held out for the rent charge to be removed. As it was we decided to withdraw our property from our buyer and put it back on the market. We lost our buyer and our buyer lost a home she loved....due to this company's inefficiency.

This company denies delays at their end, yet I hold a paper trail of information regarding timescales. Our solicitor always responded to our emails or phone calls immediately.

We had experienced 3 chain collapses throughout our 23 months of trying to move. This is the only solicitor whom I have written a poor review for...all other chain collapses were beyond all solicitors involved's control. We are now happily settled in our new home 6 months since the chain involving this solicitor fell apart.

I felt it my duty to write this review to encourage anyone looking for a solicitor to NOT consider this company. This review is not borne out of bitterness or disappointment. Throughout our 23 months (and 3 chain collapses) we had dealings with many different solicitors. Do not accept delays in communication as the norm! They absolutely are not. House buying is a stressful experience enough. Do yourselves a favour and look elsewhere.

I got recommended to Thomas and Thomas through my mortgage advisor and the suggestion couldn’t have been better. We had previous complications with our solicitors being closed down previously and therefore, Thomas and Thomas had it cut out for them trying to pick up a very messy case. Regardless, the key focus of this great company is good customer service rather than avoiding difficult problems. My communication was primarily with Sam. He is simply amazing. The company offered a superb service during a difficult time after the passing of our mother, with Melissa and India very professional and empathetic. India handled our multiple queries with knowledge and patience, while Susan and the rest of the staff did all they could throughout the process. We could not have asked for more.
