Forrest from Timberwise completed a damp and timber review for an old bungalow in North Edinburgh. He was thorough and very efficient. Most importantly, he was able to answer my technical, and not very easy, questions in a comprehensive manner. I shall mention that I have property related expertise and, in the past, I have required repeatedly a similar service! Overall, Forrest went the extra mile to ensure that he provided a meaningful service. I found him very helpful, experienced and passionate about his job. It is really a pleasure dealing with professionals of high standards, whom don’t simply go through the motions, rushing from one job to the other, but instead they take every step to be helpful and informative! Forest is one of them. I would definitely recommend him and the company without hesitation!

We had Mark and Jimmy arrive to do the damp works on my property. I was genuinely impressed to have 2 such dedicated professionals complete the work. It was hard work but they carried out their duties without complaint.

I had Timberwise do the damp survey in the property i was about to purchase, the report come back with no damp, when i moved in to the property within 1-2 months started seeing damp patches across the ground floor, they have rescheduled appointments months apart and still no visit, i contacted them again today only to find they haven't rescheduled it.
absolute nightmare, i wouldn't of bought the property with damp present as the cost will be excessive to repair, i now have 4 small children staying in a damp property. use another company the service is very poor, if i could rate less than 1 star i would.

Timberwise visited the property approximately 6 weeks after to view the damp, then stated they only check for rising damp, said they would speak with there managers and phone me back Monday with an answer, it’s now Thursday and no contact from them, don’t give these guys business as your not getting the correct service they say they offer

Charlotte from timberwise provided a very detailed survey report of the property I was hoping to purchase.
When a problem occurred with the lender Charlotte went over and above to help rectify the issue.
I genuinely don’t know what I’d have done without charlottes help and assistance.
I would definitely use timberwise again as they really care about their clients.

Timberwise helped us through an extraordinarily complex shared repair project, when dry rot was discovered in our tenement building.

I arranged several survey visits from various companies, and Forrest Hamilton from Timberwise stood out in several respects. He was amongst the first to respond, and arranged a timely site visit which gave what proved to be an accurate initial prognosis. He expressed bad news with clarity and sensitivity. He continued to be by far the best communicator, replying to all questions promptly, and reaching out to keep the project on track during various delays coordinating other contractors.

He gave invaluable advice on what actions would be required by which agencies, which allowed me to rally all affected proprietors and get them to join in with a coordinated plan.

What could've been a financially ruinous nightmare became more manageable with Timberwise' help. Ultimately we were able to contain and remove the outbreak, and splitting costs between all owners fairly allowed us to get everything done in time to prevent a catastrophic outcome.

Timberwise also showed patience and understanding with some delays we had in coordinating payments, maintaining an appropriate and professional level of contact.

In the nicest way I hope to never need them again, but if I do, they'll be the first company I call.

A really good professional service from Timberwise. I am in the process of selling my house and needed a Woodworm Treatment ASAP. The Timberwise team really pulled out the stops. A special thanks to Leah, Anouska, Robbie and Mark who worked tirelessly to complete the work.

A group of Trustees own an old Methodist Chapel on behalf of the village Youth Club. The roof timbers date back to the early 1800s and have woodworm. Timberwise sent Mike Thomas to come and survey the problem and give us a quote. He was exceptionally thorough and looked very carefully at some cracks in the timbers as to whether these needed extra repair. He consulted with specialist colleagues and then returned with them for a further inspection. Luckily it was decided that they were all safe and all we needed was the woodworm treatment. The quote was a little higher than a local firm but we will go with Timberwise as we felt the professionalism they have shown means extra peace of mind that we will get a very good job done on the building.

I am extremely impressed with this company. I have dealt with various organisations in the past but never before have I encountered such good customer relations.
My initial phone contact was extremely helpful and friendly and an appointment for a visit was arranged within a couple of days.The surveyor turned up exactly on time My problem was investigated thoroughly in a very professional manner and he explained the problem concisely.This gave me great reassurance and provided me with an excellent report for future action. I would use this company in the future and certainly recommend it without any hesitation.

Timberwise has been excellent - I had a quick response to my initial query, and the appointment and report was arranged shortly afterwards, so we were able to move forward without delay which brought peace of mind. Forrest, Laura and other staff we worked with were very helpful and polite and we are really pleased with the work that's been completed.

Great company to deal with, I've used them for two of the properties I was buying. Special shout out to Iain Rose, he was so thorough in both of the reports, he saved me thousands of pounds. Explained everything in details and he was reachable at any point. Massive thank you!

Absolutely brilliant experience, Forrest came across as very knowledgeable, took time to explain the nuances of damp and how to measure it accurately.

Furthermore, his advice was completely impartial. I have heard some horror stories about damp proofing companies and had my guard up a bit, half expecting to be hard sold on a damp course.

Thankfully my fears were unwarranted.

Forrest did find some damp in one of the external walls but said that he would not be recommending a damp proofing course because it was not warranted in this situation, and further took time to explain to my contractor how to do the remedial work to the plaster to resolve the issue.

Overall really impressed with Forrest from Timberwise, would not hesitate to recommend.

Excellent experience with Timberwise. We are buying a property in which had damp mentioned in the home reports. Forrest from Timberwise came out and the home seller said he was great. Very thorough and explained everything. We got an immediate update which enabled us to go for the house. I have also dealt with Kerri McFadden and customer rep and have received first class service from her. So helpful and goes above and beyond what’s expected. I would highly recommend this company.

The technician, James who came to do the work could not have been better. He rang on his way to confirm eta and parking etc in Cowley Oxford and his communications were superb throughout the two days. He worked really hard and stayed late on day one to ensure the job would complete on time. He did a good job and is a real credit to the company on account of his professionalism and customer care.

I’m really glad Stewart from Timberwise came by to verify what type of mushroom is growing out of our floor. Google searching had me worried dry rot would destroy our property.

Stewart answered my questions and got us on the path to a solution. And luckily this time it wasn’t dry rot!!

Professional and honest, what else do you need?

I contacted Timberwise for the free survey on a property we are in the process of renovation. Free normally means a quick in and out. Quite the opposite! I met a lady called Carla Gonan who straight away diagnosed the problem with the chimney breast in the property. Carla then proceeded to carry out a comprehensive survey of all the other issues. The survey lasted over an hour and the report arrived promptly afterwards. Thanks Carla Gonan for all your help and knowledge in diagnosing the issues.

I was selling a property and potential damp came up in the survey, this survey was done in the winter months when everyone has a bit of condensation. My buyer got Timberwise round to look at the property who quoted about £15k worth of work will need to be done for rising damp. THERE WAS NO RISING DAMP IN THE PROPERTY. There was no water tide marks or rotting skirting boards, the walls were pristine that Timberwise said had damp issues. Funnily enough one of the walls that apparently needed treating stopped at the door frame to the understairs cupboard, how would a timber doorframe stop rising damp and why wouldn't you also treat the wall that continues under the stairs? Would it be too much of a pain on a fake job?
I already had documents from the previous damp proof course that was done on the property, but Timberwise just told my buyer that it must have failed ( rather than admitting they're liars) Needless to say my buyer pulled out.
My new buyer had a survey done and THERE WAS NO MENTION OF ANY DAMP, BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ANY!!!
Timberwise is an absolutely disgusting company that cost me thousands based on their lies.

Dry rot was found in our home in Glasgow. Stuart diagnosed the problem immediately and was always on call throughout the process while his team - Mark, Liam & Thomas worked extremely professionally in our home. All round very happy with the job that was done in a timely manner. Will use again in the future if needed.
