Terrible staff
I never thought a company would be so horrendous to deal with and I definately would not recommend anyone use thier business. From calls not being answered or returned, trying to get information from the business, staff being incompetent, my door being broken during installation, the window handle breaking a week after installation and emails not being sent to us.
At first everything was going well someone came out measured the space and give us a quote and design, shortly after another staff member came out to confirm the order and looked at the space to tell us that the door the previous staff member measured for would never work in the space so they measured for a new door with a different quote.
A few weeks later we got a call to say that our payment was due before installation but it wasnât the second quote we receive it was higher, and that multiple emails had went out, none of which we recieved so we asked them to email two different emails and forward them over and they never came through. We tried ringing multiple times to sort payment and have the amount due rectified, but after no one answering the calls or replying to emails we had to drive down and speak to staff face to face.
Weeks later a staff member was out to install the door and accidently broke the glass, we were told someone would be out early the following Tuesday to replace it. Tuesday came and no one showed up, we rang multiple times before getting through to reception to be told that the information we were given was wrong and that Perry would contact me back to tell me when the issue would be resolved. Perry didnât contact me back Tuesday, nor did he contact me back when I rang Wednesday nor did he ring me back when I rang Thursday.
I then had to drive down to speak to Perry face to face who stood looking at me like nothing was going on up stairs, lacked empathy, did not care and still had no information for me to resolve my issue and was in no hurry to get that information. I then waited at the business until he did have the information.
A few days later the staff member who installed the door was back to replace the damaged glass, his name was boot, he was very empathetic and apologetic and he was very much appreciated.
A week later the handle on the window broke and I had to ring multiple times to get back in contact with someone when I did they sent me out a form to fill in and told me someone would be in contact. Again days passed with no word so I rang 3 more times before getting in contact with the business just to be told theyâre really busy, understaffed and they donât have any information about when my issue will be resolved.
When someone finally did contact me about the issue they had no idea what my issue was and no one had told them what they were coming to replace and asked if I could explain it again to them. When they did come and replace the handle they were very nice and done a fantastic job.
The door in fairness is a nice door but I wouldnât go near the business again.
Total home service nightmare
I was uncertain where to begin, but I feel it is important to share my experience. I had been looking for a new back door to replace our old one and, after researching companies online, came across Total Home. They appeared to have predominantly positive reviews, which was one of the few positives in my dealings with the company.
Initially, we wanted to replace a sliding door (with no windows) with two patio doors and a small window on each side. A representative visited to provide quotes for both optionsâone window and two windowsâin case there wasnât sufficient space for both. We were satisfied with the pricing and proceeded with the higher quote for a window on each side.
However, when the surveyor came to take measurements, he advised that two windows would make the doors too narrow for comfortable access, recommending we revert to a single window. By this stage, we had already paid a 25% deposit based on the higher two-window quote.
After this, we heard nothing for several weeks until I received a phone call requesting the next instalment (50% of the total). I checked my emails and found no such request. My partner contacted the company to ask them to resend it, but it never arrived. The following day, I called and, while on the line with the receptionist, the email was sent and appeared in my inbox. Upon reading it, I discovered the instalment amount was still based on the original higher-priced two-window quote, rather than the revised single-window order. I had already paid a higher initial deposit due to the change.
I emailed back immediately to clarify the correct order and highlight that the requested instalment would result in an overpayment, but received no response. I phoned twice the next day without success, so I eventually visited the office in person to resolve the matter. I paid the outstanding balance in cash, with the exception of £200, which was to be paid to the fitter on completion.
Unfortunately, the difficulties did not end there. During installation, the fitter accidentally cracked one of the glass panes in the door. While we understood that accidents can happen and were prepared to wait for a replacement, communication broke down once again. We were told the glass would be ordered and replaced the following week, along with necessary adjustments to ensure the door closed and locked properly. After that, we heard nothing.
Multiple phone calls resulted only in assurances that âPerry would call us back,â which never happened. Eventually, my partner visited the office and insisted on speaking to Perry in person. After some reluctance, he confirmed the glass had been ordered but could not provide a date for installation. When pressed, he was unwilling to check. My partner left then decided to return shortly after to obtain a firm date for the repair, which was scheduled for the following week.
When the same fitter returned to replace the glass, he expressed surprise that the issue had not yet been resolved. He confirmed he had requested the glass on the day it was broken and appeared frustrated by the lack of progress.
Even after this, approximately a week later the handle on the window broke. We contacted the company again and a different fitter attended. He arrived unaware of the specific issue, as the job note simply stated âdoor is broken.â He replaced the handle, removed installation clips that had been left on the door, and made further adjustments to the locks, which had been stiff and misaligned.
Touch wood, we have had no further issues since. The finished installation looks good; however, the process of getting to this point was extremely stressful. The customer service, particularly from the office, was virtually non-existent. For context, we had a composite front door fitted by Turkingtons over five years ago that has caused far fewer problems than this door and window installation has in just one month.
Should you choose to use Total Home, I wish you luck. From our experience, it appears the only reliable way to resolve issues is to visit their offices in person.

Everything discussed with the team happened exactly when they said it would happen. No excuses. The sales Rep. Made an appointment with me and arrived bang on time. As did the the surveyor. This followed through to the fitting who turned up and assaulted the job with speed and skill, they didn't hang about. They made sure I was happy with everything and tidyed up before they left. The scheduling team in the office kept me informed throughout the job (though, since it all went smoothly, I didn't have to hear much from them). All in all I would go directly to THS for any other work I need done and I'll be recommending them to everyone.

posted a review on here a few months back regarding the state of my house with paint being scraped of the wall and the wooden floor having chunks taken from it by the work mens ladders. after the review a customer service man from total homes ni phoned claiming he had no idea about any of problems and sounded genuinely sorry and asked how they could help repair the damage. after the email i sent i didn't hear from him again. This is 2 months on and i countless emails sent.

the work is like two cowboys came into your home to do. the window frames all have cracks in them and when confronted with this issue i was told well the manage wont change the window just for a crack in the frame. never mind the door leaking water and now my Harringbow floor is being replaced with water damage.
my windows and doors were done in October 2024 and they still aren't fixed!
if you want broken window frames, doors that leak and workers who ruin your walls and floor then yes 100% spend thousands of pounds on this company.

Damaged windows/poor quality

They were one of the dearer quotes I received and decided to use as I had not read any bad reviews but I am completely shocked at the damage and lack of help in resolving this matter! Installing sliding patio door
We had sliding patio doors put in to replace an existing window. Staff were Very friendly and helpful. They have good advice about the products and what would suit us. Bit of a delay in getting them fitted but otherwise they were great. The fitters were so clean and tidy and did a great job. Iâm really pleased with it

For anyone looking at getting a garden room installed I highly recommend using this company.
From the moment I met Marcin on site I was confidemt that I had chosen the right company, He was always at the other end of the phone and if I had any questions or concerns he dealt with them promptly.
Marcin and his team were brilliant, always very professional and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Sunroom build onto house.
Had a Sunroom built onto the house by THI and we are extremely delighted with it. The planning and installation exceeded our expectations, the workmanship was first class.
The assembly and installation was completed within two weeks.
Special mention to Marcin, ke kept us fully updated during the process, he managed the installation and co-ordinated the numerous tasks from start to finish. He took thr stress out of the build and left two very satisied customers.
