OMG What have they not done wrong? They not only messed up my credit score by inaccurately attaching someone else's collections to my credit score, but it's been almost 2 months, and they have not been able to correct it after I submitted a dispute. I've had to call and keep on top of them. It's been 2 months, and they have done nothing to make this go faster. It's supposed to be done and closed in 30 days. We're going on 45 days and they are no closer to getting this other ladies collections off my credit score than we were in October.

Transunion is the worst
Transunion is the worst - they get information wrong all the time and it takes forever to correct it. Very concerning for a credit company!
Scam
Signed up to get the one time credit report and cancelled membership right away. Transunion kept taking my money on a monthly basis. I had to report my card lost stolen to get out of the Transunion scam. There is no other recourse.

If I could give this company a negative star rating of minus five or more I certainly would. Due to their utter negligence and incompetence they have caused me massive personal and financial difficulties, resulting in me being refused loans (due to their incorrect information held on my credit report) and several months of trying to put my records right, involving applications and appeals to the finance ombudsman. Their own systems of communication make it all but impossible to contact them and have any meaningful conversation which could change things for the better; how can you even see the information held against you when the personal details you use to log in are rejected, since they fail to match the incorrect details held in their files?!
So, after months of going round in circles and hours of attempting to correct their wrongs, I have received not a single word of apology or admission of them ever being at fault - and yet they wield the power to persuade other financial institutions that any given individual is a bad bet and unworthy of trust or borrowing rights. Companies like TransUnion should not be allowed to practise, let alone act with such power and authority (as they do, on a global scale) to interfere in people's lives and finances. I can only hope that their abominable record of poor practice catches up with them one day and they are forced to close. They deserve nothing less and a great deal more.
Horrible company
I’d say avoid at all costs, but living in the U.S., I feel like one is forced to deal with this horrendous company. Maybe this applies to other countries as well? I created a login in order to freeze credit and managed to do that. Then when I went to log in again my login was not recognized. I was given an alternate way to log in which was not recognized as valid. I called, got a robot, most of my commands were misunderstood, I was give the option to talk to a person, which I accepted, so the system hung up on me and stuck me in a chat. The person in the chat gave me a non-functioning web link to use and when I pointed out that it was not functional, they blamed it on my browser. After following their directions to try another browser (I tried two) it still didn’t work so they told me they wouldn’t help me unless I opened the web page. They gave me the option to get help by calling the same number that I called to begin with (robot, not helpful, hung up). I never got me issue dealt with. I had zero problems with the other two credit agencies. It is absurd that this company is allowed to remain open and exert power over people.
Impossible to cancel account
I created an account in 2023 in order to get a credit score to pay off a loan. There was never any money owing, no transactions after the first one. All my information is on the website and I was able to pull it up. However, they were not willing to cancel my account without me doing another credit report - then sending hard copy mail of all my informationin to them. How ironic that they're supposed to honor very tight control over personal information but they're ok with leaving personal information in unused account for years, vulnerable to data breach.

If I can give TransUnion a zéro star or negative ten thousand stars I would do that. Absolutely the worst of the worst company. They should be banned by the government from Customers Protection Agency. The support staff is very poorly trained in Africa and India. Each time I call, they have no idea what I am talking about. I have to tell my whole story again and again. When I ask for the status of my dossier , The only thing they can say is be patient and wait. They told me the issue is resolved in 30 days maximum , my file was in charged for 60 days and not resolved. Every time I call, The support staff cannot give any status of the issue, no date of resolution and cannot escalate. I cannot imagine any bank would use their terrible and disgusting services. The top management of TransUnion is the real cause of their offering. They don’t care about customers. Period.

Registered on their site, as I had ( false) information on my credit report to be corrected. Then tried to log in, with my password, would not take my password. So tried option with the secret question. Would not take my secret question answer either...what the h...??? There is a glitch somewhere.

I had my personal data stolen including my phone number. I was not able to put a freeze on my credit account. I had already created an account previously but was unable to login again. While trying to access my previous account I could not remember my login ID and password. I was continually asked if I wanted to have an access code to be sent to the phone number listed on my account. The only problem was my phone number listed is the one stolen. I had no chance to add my new phone number so this access code would be sent to me instead of this theft. So, thanks to the so-called credit bureau my information is still out there to be used again. Thanks to Experian Credit Bureau I was able to put a fraud alert on all three credit bureaus. But the things you need to do to correct your Identity theft is designed to prevent you from correcting the theft.

Why is the government allowing such a company to exist??? They lied about everything they claimed that am not in the electoral register on my account I don’t know why they claim that because ever since I registered about 20 years ago I am on the register on every address I have leave .

YOU FAIL MISERABLY
I received a letter informing me some of my personal data was leaked and that I could receive 24 months of free credit monitoring.
I called 866-744-8221 where a man with a heavy Indian accent in a noisy room answered. With difficulty he gave me a different phone number to call 844-787-4607.
I called that number and whoever picked up the phone reminded silent, but I could have background noise of voices. I kept listening and after 40 sec I hung up.
The entire experience was sketchy and suspicious from the start. For being an information security company YOU FAIL MISERABLY AT MAKING ANYONE FEEL SECURE TO CONTACT YOU.

I signed up to simply view my credit score out of curiosity, but was tricked into paying for their subscription. Customer service was helpful, though the person's accent was very deep and hard to understand. Overall, will never use this service again.
Their call center is terrible
Their call center is terrible. First of all, they don’t speak English well enough, and calling them is useless. My bank is having an issue getting my credit score report from them, and there’s really no reason for that since I always pay all my bills biweekly and maintain a high credit score. When I called TransUnion, they told me I need to mail them a bunch of documents and wait a couple of months for a response. Terrible experience.
My True Identity Sign up Nightmare
I tried to signup to your My True Identity today. The process was a nightmare.
1. Went to my true identity
2. Put in Activation code
3. Clicked sign up and put in data
4. Message on website said I took too long, and I was not signed up
5. I called the number 1 800 663 9980 for assistance
6. The message ambushed me with a number to call for technical assistance for My True Identity. In other words, it was so fast I had no way to write it down.
7. I called back and got a person who knows nothing and gave me the number 1-855-889-4293. It was not the right number.
8. I then got a person who told me to call 1-800-508-2597. It was not the right number. That person put me through to 1-888-228-4939.
9. Each person I called wanted me to tell them the entire story, so I repeated it FOUR TIMES.
10. The person I spoke to when I finally got to the right department, Gray Miller, spoke over me through much of the call. She told me to type in www mytrueidentity ca in Chrome. I did and got 2 websites that didn’t match what she was looking at. WHY?
11. The first one was a search site for different providers. The second one was TransUnion but a different web page. WHY?
12. I cleared my history and finally got back to the SAME website I was originally at on Edge. She told me I can’t use Edge. Why does your website not say we MUST USE CHROME?
13. Once I got into the website, she told me she would hang up, and I had to raise my voice to make her stay on the line until I finished the sign-up procedure because I feared there would be problems. She said I can just call back which would waste another 45 minutes of my time. Unacceptable.
14. As I scrambled to sign up before she cut me off, I found I was unable to complete the process AGAIN.
15. The system said it had a technical problem and to try again later!
16. She then told me my account had been activated the first time I tried but it was locked!
17. So, this means she didn’t check in the first place to see if my account was activated at all but made me go through the process again! WHY? Why waste my time?!
18. She had no answer to this.
19. She then sent me a password reset. I got the email. She said I must wait 15 minutes before I can reset my password. The email does not say that. Why does the email not say it, but she does?

Trans Union wasted well over an hour of my day for something that should have been simple! Your communication is awful! Your training of staff is awful! Your website instructions are awful! Your email instructions are incomplete, misleading and awful! It’s no wonder I have become so upset!
Completely ridiculous customer service and very poor English skills
I am eligible for 2 free years of credit monitoring as was affected by the Westjet Breach. Already have been getting 5 yrs free monitoring via Equifax as previously was affected by Visa Desjardin breach. Thought timing good as that is scheduled to end on Sept. 30th, after being extended from July. Started the application process with Transunion however needed to call yesterday, as step 3 - confirming prior address, gave choices that were completely incorrect, with no option of choosing none of the above, even though was in the narrative. So I called. Could barely understand the lady for one thing. Managed to finally confirm some additional info. But then hit a brick wall, as they had invalid info. relating to the address tied to my credit cards. No idea where they got that wrong. Been in my house for 32 yrs and was 3 yrs at prior house on same street. So apllication locked and could only proceed further if filed an official dispute. Completely ridiculous. Gave up and promptly called Equifax and explained situation. So now have transitioned to paying customer starting in Oct. Much better experience..
