Been using VLC for more than 6 years. Its Free and user-friendly application. Plus, you can play all formats with ease. I highly recommend this app.

Offers the simplicity of being able to watch videos or listen to audio without any drawback .
Supports all formats which I need .
Also I like the portable version , I always keep it on my USB drive .

SO surprised by the bad reviews on here. Been using VLC for over ten years, it's reliable, free and - at least in my experience - does exactly what it's designed to do EVERY SINGLE TIME

VLC has been (paradoxically) the most versatile and lightweight Windows media player for as long as I can remember. Every few years I think of something new I need to do, and it's already in there. I wanted to download a streaming video and VLC gives you the source link from the YouTube URL. CTRL+N and you're practically done.

I have tried numerous free video players and VLC is the best one so far.

Windows 10 is notorious for causing playback problems (which started my search in the first place). After trying several offerings (including MediaPlayer) I came across VLC and have used it for the past couple months. So far NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.

That beep is supposed to be the best, but it's crashing all the beep time, and won't start up again! It crashes several times in a row! Like chimps have developed it, or something!!! A total BLEEP! Unreliable, crashing BLEEP! I always end up watching my stuff on Windows Player anyway, cos I don't have the time and energy to restart and VLC every time it BLEEP crashes!!! Unbelievable.

to be honest its the worst piece of crap vlc ever did where have all the options gone from previous versions i know its for nothing but really this sucks a child could have done better

Con VLC ho risolto in modo egregio il RITARDO AUDIO. VLC è eccezionale, non solo per la visualizzazione anche di vecchi film, ma è fantastico soprattutto perchè mi ha risolto in modo perfetto un problema fastidiosissimo e cioè la mancanza di sincronia tra audio e video: i dialoghi in molti film che vedo con cavo HDMI dal Pc alla TV spesso sono sfasati; VLC li corregge automaticamente. Consigliatissimo!

works great, terrible, works great, terrible. it will play a flac file then the next sticks over and over again. Little yellow bar travels across the screen and does nothing. seems that the cache is the problem and after trying all the techniques online still sucks. i'm glad i didn't give them any money. i wanted to but....

I am not at all happy with this software, it seems to have kidnapped my own created music tracks and retitled them to an artist known as J.Arie, beautiful world in existance album track. It wont let me re edit the track title either. You can not email them either as their email is non useable, so quite dodgy and a complete waste of time to be honest.

Hasn't been a single positive bit of experience using this thing. Audio freezes, stutter, no matter what format i try to play. Nothing seems to even remotely fix it. Other players work fine. Do not recommend.

I only gave VLC media player 1 star because I couldn’t give it a zero. I was able to play two episodes of a DVD series on my laptop before it wouldn’t play the remainder of the series. I spent about three hours trying to troubleshoot the player, to no avail. I’m glad I’m not paying for this worthless media player. I am very disappointed. Trust me and just go buy a cheap DVD player.

I want to record something from my movie, but VLC media player SOMEHOW can only record parts before and after the part im trying to record. like what kind of bullcrap is this. And if you're saying its my DVD, no it isn't. It's able to read every other part perfectly fine but it can't read the part i want to record?

I use this to convert .MPS (AVCHD) videos to MPEG4 and it works well. The problem with this software is that is so unintuitive that I can understand why it gets such low ratings. What should be an easy, intuitive path to select a file for conversion, then select the output format, then select the destination folder and finally select "convert" turns into a mishmash of redundant and confusing steps. Unfortunately it's typical of a slapped together software with good intentions but very poor implementation. C'mon guys, you can do better!

I downloaded this worthless piece of s#%t app for my android and it played one frame of a video. I even restarted my phone. Seconds later it was deleted.
