I had a very negative experience working with XYZ Law. First, after KYC, the onboarding team forgot to pass my case to the solicitor and my case was delayed for 2 months, while I thought that they were already working on it. This put me in a very bad position vis-a-vis the seller. During the process, they were impossible to reach and there was no visibility on where they stand in the process. Now in January (2 months after the closing) I received a late interest payment notice from HMRC, discovering that XYZ has never paid the stamp duty tax. This is outrageous.

Initially had no issues however they filled out the wrong details on a piece of paperwork.

After chasing for over a year and a half this has only just been actioned by them.

Would not recommend

I wanted to remove a name from housing deeds & obtained numerous quotes. XYZ Law were competitive but not the cheapest at £576. The quote price was later confirmed in the 'Terms of Acceptance' letter. The final bill recieved was £763, to be be changed the next day to £783. Their explanation for the difference in quote/ToA & final bill was that the breakdown figures in the quote/T&A were correct but hadnt been added up correctly. The reason for the change in the final bills was that they had missed something off the first final bill. So they cant do simple math or do attention to detail, either way not exactly what you want when sorting legal matters. I willn't be using XYZ Law again.

Louise Pugh acted as my solicitor to repay my help to buy loan and I could not have been happier with her service. Speedy and amazing communication!
After a bad experience with a different law firm, Louise and her team jumped straight in and picked up all the slack. Even though we had a super tight deadline, we still completed in time. What a super star!! I will be working with XYZ law for any future solicitor needs!

Excellent Service Throughout the Home Buying Process

Great service. Always responsive. There was a long delay on my sale/purchase due to an exiting tenant, conveyancers on the other side took this as a license to ignore until the last minute. However Amna, Mohammed and team were ready on the dot once the tenant had left (I just wished the other sides were as efficient!) Everything went through fine in the end. If anything I'd say just needed a little more clear communication in the beginning as I was confused about the house buying process. But I didn't need to worry, they had everything in order. Top marks.
