I’m so glad we were able to match you up with a Zanthoxylum that feels close to the one you had – and that it arrived safely and looking just right. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear how frustrating this experience was, particularly given the timing around a birthday — we do understand how disappointing that must have been.

As outlined on our website, we’re currently unable to ship live plants outside of the UK, including to the USA, due to import restrictions. While we appreciate this may have been overlooked, the information is available prior to purchase and we do encourage customers to check or contact us if they are unsure, particularly for international or time-sensitive orders.

That said, we do recognise that the order being accepted and the delay in identifying the issue added to the inconvenience, and this is something we are reviewing internally to improve going forward.
A full refund was issued as soon as the issue came to light.
