Extremely disappointed with my experience.

I brought in a formal asymmetrical dress for a very minor alteration to one side of the bust. I clearly explained multiple times what I wanted, but I felt I wasn’t listened to and was talked over.

After four visits, the dress is now completely unwearable. The zip is crooked, too much fabric was removed, and the fit is so tight I can’t lift my arm without worrying it will tear.

While I received a refund for the alterations, this doesn’t cover the fact that my €200 dress is now ruined and I have to replace it at short notice for a wedding.

The reception staff were lovely, but the alteration work itself and lack of attention to customer requests were extremely disappointing.

Yet another amazing alteration, I have been taking clothes to Warrington Zipyard for years. Always professional & extremely helpful. Would highly recommend

Repair carried out efficiently and ahead of the date scheduled

"I wanted to address a concern about the alterations. When I picked up my jeans, I was told that the instructions I gave were not passed on correctly to the seamstress by the receptionist. There was no loyalty to her staff colleague which is not a not sign about how the business is ran. The alterations don’t match what I had asked for, and the cost was three times what I would normally pay.

I brought a pair of leggings to ZipYard to have a seam repaired, as the original stitching had snapped. Before visiting, I called to confirm they had the correct machine to carry out this type of repair and was told they did.

When I dropped off the leggings, I explained that I expected the repair to be done as close as possible to the original stitching, which was a double-stitched seam for strength and durability.

Unfortunately, when I collected the leggings, I noticed that:
• The thread colour did not match the original (I was advised in advance that the colour might not be an exact match; however, the difference was significant, and the thread used also appeared much thinner than the original, which likely affected the durability of the repair)
• The repair was done with a single stitch instead of a double stitch, making it less secure

I hoped it would still hold, but after wearing them once to the gym, the seam split again immediately, before I even started exercising. This suggests the seam was not reinforced properly and did not have enough stitching to close and secure the fabric gap.

Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of the repair, especially after specifically checking in advance that the job could be done correctly.

Due to the high cost and the poor durability of the repair, I will not be returning.

Fumanda in the Ranelagh did a super job on my dress. I had tried three other seamstresses to rework the top of a dress without success. Fumanda succeeded- a very skilled seamstress

Zip Yard Carlow.. I was greeted by a very pleasant, and cheery lady, who gave me great advice on how to alter my coat. She was very engaging in conversation, and I asked her name. Denise was very helpful, and it was a pleasure to be served by her. Hope my coat turns out as good..😊

Absolutely terrible service ..... staff member was very rude from the moment we entered.
We went in asking for two garments to be altered and then seen multiple signs on windows advertising 3 FOR 2 alterations . When we enquired about the offer , the woman very rudely said "that is for 3 items not 2!" And that it was for one customer , when we said we had a third item that we could do with being altered , she again very rudely said "its for one paying customer , not 3 separate customers " even after explaining one person would be paying for the whole purchase . She had absolutely zero interest in helping us or even explaining the offer to us . Even before enquiring about the offer , when asking about getting sleeves added to a dress , she was extremely unhelpful , rude and seemed completely uninterested in her work .
We then went to alterx, near the ashe hotel . The customer service and level of expertise were second to none .
Avoid zip yard at all Costs!!!

The lady who we brought two dresses into get altered we had another dress at home and asked politely if we could get that one altered aswell since they had a sign on the window saying 3for2 on all alterations, but the lady straight away was saying no we are three different customers even though just two of my friends came in with me and I was paying for all of the alterations, she then proceeded to give out to us saying we are wrong and then proceeded to kick us out of her store we were left gobsmacked when all we wanted was wedding dresses altered. Would never recommended this place to anyone very rude staff

TRALEE ZIPYARD!
Customer service in the Tralee store was absolutely terrible from the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by a person automatically downgrading us and looking down on us for no reason what so ever .. as we continued in there to ask for what we wanted done we were treated so badly and disrespected so much the person was horrible to us and shouldn’t be allowed to deal with customers in a customer facing job absolutely atrocious behaviour

All I am going to say I wouldn’t go there again I have never came across customer service like that before

The work to my trousers is first classs 👍🏻 but I have to say the lady who serve me is a proper stress head.
There was a lad trying something on and me and then the phone rang and I'm sorry to say this but you were a little rude to the person on the phone, obviously i only heard one side of the conversation BUT to be like that in front of customers already in the shop isn't very professional.
Please take on board my review because you come across as a nice lady..

Alterations satisfactory. This company is FAR more expensive than any other person/company offering this service. My advise is to shop around.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices. Very high quality work. Could no ask for more.

Went to athlone store to get a dress and a pants shortened. On the initial visit all seemed very good, but on returning to confirm measurements as I’m pregnant, one man working at the desk was beyond rude to myself and my husband. He couldn’t find my clothes and then starting screaming at my husband when he pointed them out and picked them up. Following this he continued to curse at my husband with a raised voice. Goes to say I took my clothes both of which were not completed due to needing measurement confirmation elsewhere to be altered. Very very bad service will not me returning.

Very helpful the staff of Carlow/Kilkenny Zip yard. Marie and Denise and Pat brilliant staff really helpful. They did a brilliant job of redesigning a lovely pair of Velvet curtains we are so delighted highly recommended Zip yard for their excellent skills and customer service.

Shocking place, had to take the item elsewhere to be fixed after they had them.

From the minute I walked into the shop I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. I brought in a dress to be altered for my daughters wedding. The seamstress was so professional and the work carried out was perfect. I would highly recommend their service.

I was misadvised during my initial visit, which resulted in me having to pay twice for the same job. When I brought the jacket back a few weeks later, I was told that the zip should have been changed in the first place, and I was charged an additional £45 for the same repair. Paying £45 just for a zip change, especially after being given incorrect advice, feels unreasonable and unfair. They told me that they are going to refund me the first £15 but they never did!
