Absolutely amazing work

Incorrect alterations & a lost bridesmaid dress
Lost my bridesmaid dress and carried out incorrect alterations. Altrincham Store.
I took two dresses to the Zip Yard to be altered, unfortunately, I was left very disappointed. One of the dresses was a bridesmaid dress and needed altering in three places; length, tapering and the straps needed to be stitched in. After being pinned into the dress, I was told the price and was a little shocked by the cost. However, I had left it quite late to get the alterations done, so trusted that for the price they would do an excellent job. I paid my money and arranged to come and collect the dresses two weeks later at 9am.
On arriving at 9am on the given Saturday, I was advised that the dresses were not there, they had perhaps been sent to another store to be altered but they didn't know. You can imagine my panic! After chasing a few times, I was advised that the dresses had been found and due to the inconvenience they would be brought to my house at 5:30. At 5:30 I received a call saying that they would not be brought around until 7:30.
On receiving the dresses and trying them on, I noticed that the straps had not been sewn in as requested and paid for. On contacting the manager I was advised that they had in fact been shortened not stitched in, so now the straps were too tight.
After explaining that the alterations had been done incorrectly and that the whole process unnecessarily stressful, especially for the price, I was offered a small refund for the incorrect alternations and told 'you were not obliged to proceed with our prices. That was your choice.'
No I was not obliged to leave my dress, but I would have expected the work that I had contracted them to do to be carried out and any mistakes rectified.
On their website it says 'indeed it''s our guarantee to every customer that when you come to the Zip Yard, you'll always receive 100% satisfaction every time'. Which was certainly not the case.

I alway used Fitrite religiously until I moved to London. Iâm home & live in Cork but I heard Zipyard Thomas street were great. I popped in today & was blown away by the customer service & had to share it. You know who you are & keep being you because it matters. Made my month! Thank you!
DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE
I went to this establishment with a pair of trousers to be dry cleaned. The trousers returned had changed colour. The company refused to refund the cost of the trousers for the damage they have done. Everything that was requested was 50 EUR. Under any circumstances trust this company, they can even answer for a low cost item.
Uncomfortable experience
I took a maxi dress in to be shortened as it was too long.
The customer service was appalling. The lady who served me was very curt and aggressive. The staff doing the work, looked like they were afraid to speak. It felt like I had walked in to a sweat box environment, very third world. All the workers were European. It all felt very uncomfortable. The work carried out was fine. But the experience was very unpleasant. I will find somewhere else next time.
I gave three stars because the work was ok.

Took the backpack to a local cobbler, took him less than three minutes to repair. Caveat Emptor
