Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. My partner's father died so we transferred his account into her name. Simple process you would have thought, but no. First they disconnected the landline, then added loads of charges for switching things mid-contract. He died!! How can he switch things mid-contract? Finally got the extra charges removed and decided to not have a landline but now she's being charged for not having one. I've called them 20 times in two weeks with assurances that everything is sorted but there's still charges for non-existent products. Bunch of cowboys, no better than BT. Was persuaded to get an EE sim to reduce the cost of broadband, that's only worked for a couple of days and now she can't make or receive calls. Calling them is ridiculously difficult, they're supposed to be a communication company! Now going to cancel everything and go elsewhere

Delivery service worse than Yodel

Been a Prime member for years but this new let's deliver at night thing is rubbish. Next day delivery has effectively turned into a two-day delivery service. I contacted their customer service to complain but just got told to use their speedier service to guarantee next morning delivery if I hand over another £10! So they have two Prime delivery services, you pay for both but only one works. No wonder Bezos is so rich!

Impressed with Royal Mail though, they manage to get my parcels delivered by 2pm, why isn't that an option for delivery?

Was roped into Zilch through Samsung

Was roped into Zilch through Samsung, was offered £10 to take an account but never got it though, although they refunded a fee paid for using their card. I paid off the balance and closed my account. I have other methods for buying stuff that do not charge fees for buying things and offer 0% interest. Zilch could learn a thing or two from them.

Very pleasant experience

Had a very pleasant experience with Scott at WBAC, Norwich. Old C Class Merc was given to me as owner could no longer drive. I have a new EV and didn't need a second car, plus the MOT had 3 days left, so wanted to sell it quite quickly.

With very low mileage, WBAC offered £3,000 online, I knew I wouldn't get that but was surprised by the final amount paid into my account in 15 minutes.

Overall, quite a smooth process and great result.

Recommended.

Needed a couple of new sweatshirts and…

Needed a couple of new sweatshirts and Cotton Traders were having a sale. Fortunately my size was in stock so I bought two. I must wear cotton so was pleased to get them for the discounted price of £20 each, shipping extra but not expensive as I'd bought through their website.

They're very good value and fit perfectly.

Added service fee

Getting a card from Zilch was pretty straight forward but I didn't look into it too closely until I made a purchase the other day and was surprised to find I'd paid a kinda service fee, nearly 10% of the total cost.

I'm going to clear the balance and close the account. I've got other, much better ways to pay for goods without having to pay a fee on top.

Update 03/02/26: After leaving this review they refunded the fee. Nice gesture, shame I had to complain to get it. They earn money from interest and add a fee?

New razor bought in the Braun sale

My old Braun razor bit the dust this morning, motor made a strange noise then just stopped. Repairing it would have come to nearly as much as a discounted new one and as luck would have it, Braun were having a sale.

Picked up a new Series 9 Pro+ direct from them with a 53% discount, lots of consumables and free shipping. Cheaper than Amazon!

Samsung Pay changed to Curve Pay

Samsung Pay have changed over to using Curve Pay, no choice in the matter but I've been using Curve's services for a few years and haven't had any problems. Only using their standard (free) service although other packages allow for better cashback on purchases abroad.

First place to look for the best prices

Best price I could find for a pair of Skechers shoes on the net was from Scorpion Shoes. I'd never heard of them before, so did a bit of research before purchasing. Their history sounded genuine and I was pleasantly surprised that postage was free too. I also got 20% off which made them even cheaper.

This is the first place I'll look in future when I need new shoes. Recommended.

House surveyed for solar and battery

Arran Dyson came today to survey my house for solar panels and battery for Octopus Energy.

Lovely chap, clean, friendly and knowledgeable. Gave some advice on which tariff I should switch to as my new system, apart from supplying my house with electricity, will export/sell excess power back to the grid.

Was here about an hour and all was sorted. Next is having it all fitted.

If your house is going to be surveyed, hope you get Arran.

Nextbase customer service is a joke

Bought the 622GW front and rear dashcam October 2024 and had it professionally hardwired into my new car. From the off I wasn't very happy as to view clips using the app it has to connect using their 'superfast wifi'. What a joke! My EV has it's own wifi and so the cam wouldn't connect. Had to take camera out of the car before it would hook up. Found it easier to remove the sd card and use my pc to view clips.

September this year it got a fault in that the battery overheated. Originally presumed to be the sun and heat this summer that caused it, but when it overheated at night, I knew there must be a fault, the battery was not charging either. Having done all their recommended checks and still no joy I had to claim a warranty repair. Ringing is useless, they don't answer the phone so filled in their online form which is not easy to find. You get stuck in a loop of clicking warranty claims then being redirected to their FAQs. Finally got there and completed the form with all information, then you wait for a response. Two weeks!! Reply email asked for all the info again and what the problem was, but I'd already told them. Two more replies asking the exact same thing then eventually they sent an RMA and returns label. 8 days later and I have a working camera.

Not happy as this camera was very expensive for what it is. To have to connect to it via bluetooth initially which works fine only to try to connect via wifi to view clips is stupid. Wish I hadn't bought it in the first place and am probably going to have it removed from my car shortly, shame I can't get a refund. (Anyone want a dashcam cheap?)

Nextbase customer service is a joke, they either need better training or more staff. I'd avoid if I were you.

Very kindly gave me a refund

Bought the suction cup accessory for my dashcam but decided to stick with the adhesive pads, Nextbase very kindly refunded the suction cup bit and allowed me to keep it.

Are they forcing you to pay to have a stable signal?

Getting frequent periods of gobbledygook on Greatest Hits Radio Norfolk and North Suffolk. I listen through my Amazon Echo using the Rayo Skill. Connection is via wifi and there's no oroblem with that, but this has happened whilst listening in my car too via DAB. I don't pay to remove ads but haven't had a problem until the last month or so.

Have they given away so much money that they can't afford decent antennas now or are they forcing you to pay to get a stable signal? Either way, I'm back to listening to BBC Radio (no ads).

Supermarket roast dinners are just as good

Ordering and delivery excellent. Food was very nice, I'd ordered a few roast dinners. Easy to cook in the microwave but as I'd suspected, the portions were small, nowhere near enough for me. The roast beef was very nice. Only ordered as there was a fiver off, won't be buying again. Supermarket roast dinners are just as good and cheaper.

Email response is slow, but good custoner service overall

I bought the G622GW dashcam last year direct from Nextbase and had no problems with it.

During the very hot and sunny weather we've been having, the front dashcam came unstuck from the windscreen and set off my car alarm, annoying my neighbours at 6am. I decided to get the suction cup attachment to see if that would do a better job but had already purchased a sticker pack from them and was trying to return it.

They took a while to respond to my email request but eventually Jodie answered. It was too late as I'd already used a sticker so couldn't return the pack. Jodie kindly refunded the suction cup so if I do decide to try it in the future, I've already got it. Buying direct from Nextbase was cheaper including postage than from Amazon.

Don't expect a quick response to any emails sent but Jodie and their customer service team comes good in the end.

Customer service is useless, they don't answer their phones

Switched from Cuckoo to Toob in June. Had a final bill which was paid by dd beginning of July. No money owed at all. Just received another bill saying I owe £36, a 'sorry to see you go' note and a threat that if I don't return my router back they'll chase me for payment.

I've repeatedly requested a return bag for their router only to be told it's a problem with their 'systems', now they don't even answer the phone when I ring. They're expanding by taking over more BB companies but haven't got this one working properly yet.

Send me a bag for your router and stop sending me bills that have already been paid.

Pestered me for a review, I've already done one!

Second review for TOOB, they keep pestering me to write one when I did it originally several weeks ago when connected. You obviously don't read them, do you?

Been happy with the service and have not needed to contact them.

Changed the supplied Linksys router to my own Eero Max 7 that I got in the Prime sales, much better coverage now. BB speed excellent overall.

Keep up the good work.

Switched from Cuckoo to TOOB, best decision

I've just switched from Cuckoo BB to TOOB on Norwich's City Fibre Network.

It was a no-brainer to switch as TOOB is £15 cheaper per month, locked in for 18 months with guaranteed no price rises. Cuckoo had me on a one month rolling contract @ £40. When offering me a longer term contract, the price went up!

Set up was supposed to be easy using the Linksys app but after several attempts to find my BB I resorted to accessing the router via the web. I've done this before so it was a breeze to do. I renamed the SSID to my previous setup with the same password and all my devices instantly connected. The app then worked too, a bit late! I'm paying for 900 and am regularly getting speeds above that, around 955, up and down.

I'm going to replace their router with my own tri-band wifi 7 router although there's nothing wrong with the supplied Linksys SPNMX56 dual-band. It covers all of my house without the need for mesh nodes. I just prefer a WiFi 7 capable router.

All the people I've talked to at TOOB were friendly and helpful. The switchover was handled completely by them including telling Cuckoo where to go. The switch took place at 01:15 and by 01:30 all my gear was connected.

Highly recommended.

RM`s app is not fit for purpose

Like many others have found, Royal Mail's app is absolutely useless and is not fit for purpose. In a time when RM are fighting for more business in a very competitive postal world, having an app to track your parcel's progress either to or from you is essential, just having a receipt from the post office is not good enough.

People are using alternative methods to send their parcels because they have lost all trust in RM and soon they will go bust again all because their app doesn't work.

You only have yourselves to blame RM!
